Keira checks under the sink and finds her phone. She remembers calling Mason, he must have been so worried about her. But the person calling her now is her dad. She answers it quickly.“Hey Dad.” She says.“Hey Kare Bear. How are you? We haven’t heard from you in awhile.” Her dad says.“Yeah, I’m sorry. I’ve been really busy. Things here are great. I’m learning so much.” Keira could never tell her dad about what happened to her. Her pride keeps her from asking for the help she might have needed.“That’s good to hear. Alpha and I wanted to come and speak with the Alpha. So could you squeeze some time in for your old man?” “When are you coming?” I ask.“In two days.”“Sure. Definitely.” The bruise will be gone by then, she thinks.“Alright, we’ll see you then.” Her father hangs up. It’s been a few months since she’s seen her father. She’s looking forward to it. She hangs up and checks on her bruise in the mirror. She dries her hair and walks out into the bedroom. After she gets changed
Keira’s POVToday is the day my father visits. I’m really excited for it, I haven’t seen anyone from my old pack in such a long time. But as excited as I am, Dawson doesn’t seem to be in the best mood. I’m trying to not bring attention to it. After my shower, I walk out into the bedroom. Dawson is getting dressed.“I have to meet my father. But I’ll be down for breakfast.” He says. He kisses my cheek and heads out. I get dressed and dry my hair, then I head down to the dinning hall and find Sam and Cleo, two warrior friends I’ve made here.“Hey Luna.” Everyone calls me Luna now, it feels weird because they have a Luna.“Hey. Morning!” I take a seat next to them. Macie brings me a plate and some coffee. The plate has hash browns, sausage, and scrambled eggs, with some toast.“Thanks Macie.” She smiles at me.“Man do you know everyone?” Cleo asks.“No, just the important ones.” I smile and start eating. They tell me about training today. I wish I could
Keira’s POVOver the next few weeks things went back to normal around the pack house, and between me and Dawson. He stopped drinking like he said, and things have been like they were in the beginning, blissful. Two days ago he was sent out on a mission to help an allied pack. He is returning today after successfully fighting back some rogues. I’m happy he had a successful mission without getting hurt. He and the other warriors are planning to arrive back around dinner time, so the pack is planning a big feast. The Luna and I worked together to plan the feast. This is the first event I’ve had a hand in planning, and I’m really excited for it. “Alright, I think that just about finishes that. It’s up to the kitchen staff now to have it all ready for tonight.” Luna Bethany says. “I’m looking forward to it.” I tell her.“We only have an hour before Dawson arrives, why don’t you run up and get ready.” She says.“Thanks Luna, I’ll see you later.” I head up stairs
Keira’s POVI remember the feeling of pain, then I must’ve passed out, I don’t remember anything after that. My head hurts. I open my eyes and a bright white light pours in. Where am I? I blink a few times before my vision clear up. I’m in a hospital bed and I’m alone. I remember running from Dawson after he knocked out Harrison. I remember Dawson catching me and attacking me. My hand touches my face. It’s covered in bandages. What did that monster do to me? The curtain is pulled back and Macie enters.“Macie.” I whisper, my throat is dry. “Luna, you’re awake. How are you feeling?” She asks.“Like crap.” I say. “Could I have some water?” I ask her. She nods her head and leaves for just a minute before coming back with a yellow cup and a straw. She positions the straw to my lips. I sip a few big gulps, quenching my thirst. After I’m satisfied I clear my throat. “What happened?” I ask Macie. She looks down and away from me. “Alpha Dawson.. he attacked y
Keira’s POVTwo days have passed since I woke up in the hospital. Macie has been by my side this whole time. Harrison visited too. I heard Dawson was sent away on another mission. I wonder what plan the Alpha and Luna have, I mean they can’t keep Dawson away on missions forever. I’ve thought about what Macie suggested. But I can’t just abandon my pack. I need to come up with a solution, or maybe I just endure it for them. I’m not sure what the right thing to do is. The doctor said I’m going to be released today. Macie told me that the entire pack is excited to see me again. I’m truly thankful I’ve met so many wonderful people in this pack. I don’t want to cause them any issues. Why does Dawson have to be like this? He’s ruining everything I’ve ever thought about fated mates. I think they’re more of a curse than a blessing.“You ready to leave Luna?” Macie asks.“Yes please.” I still have some bruising and a cut, but the pain is mostly gone. I get out of bed and Maci
Keira’s POVI take off running away from the lands of Pale Moon Pack. When I reach the mouth of a river I stop to take a break. It’s still dark outside, and I put another couple of miles in between me and our borders. I’m exhausted and starving. Macie packed me some snacks for the way. I unwrap a protein bar and take a huge bite out of it. Macie said her head omega passes these out when the omegas need a boost of energy in between meals. It has a soft and gritty texture, and it doesn’t taste very good. I check the wrapper. Chocolate chip peanut butter. It has a slight peanut taste but absolutely no chocolate chips at all. Still I’m so hungry I finish it in two bites and pull out another one. Apple cinnamon flavor. This one tastes slightly better, and isn’t as gritty as the chocolate chip. I eat this one just as quick and then I wash down my dinner with a few good gulps from my water bottle. Then I take out the piece of paper Macie gave me. It’s a map of the area, and some d
Keira’s POV“Let me show you where you’ll be going.” Samara says. She pulls out a map. This one’s more detailed than the one Macie gave to me. “Here is Cedar Creek Pack.” She points to a small area north of where I am now. It’s a good distance from Pale Moon and Elk Forest. “When can I go there?” I ask.“We can head out now! I’ll come along to help you get settled. Let me get ready.” “You don’t have to.” “It’s better if I do. You’ll have to cut ties with your old pack and join the new one. Plus I’d like to see my old friend.” She says before heading to the back of the house. I wait on the couch for her to come back. A few minutes later she returns with a small bag and a book. “Alright, I’m ready to go.” She says. I grab my bag and we set off. I follow her through the forest.“We’ll take my car.” She yells back.“You have a car?” I ask.“Of course I do. Do you think I’m some hermit that lives in the woods?” She replies with a laugh.
Keira’s POVMy alarm goes off at seven o’clock. I didn’t want to sleep in too much, just incase someone got here early. I get dressed and eat a banana. There was some fruit and food in the fridge left by Lynn. I don’t know how to cook a lot of things, but I can make eggs, which is what I had for dinner last night. This is going to be such a different world for me. Making all my own meals, and working. I never thought about what this life would be like. I take a shower and get dressed. I look so bizarre with my new hair, it’s definitely going to take some getting used to. I hear someone open the door to the shop, there are three bells that hang from the handle. I head down stairs and through the kitchen. But then I think, what if Dawson has found me? What if it’s someone coming to take me back to him. “Hello?” I say. I look around for a weapon. Then a girl with pink hair pokes her head into the kitchen. I jump.“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I
