Chapter 8

Keira checks under the sink and finds her phone. She remembers calling Mason, he must have been so worried about her. But the person calling her now is her dad. She answers it quickly.

“Hey Dad.” She says.

“Hey Kare Bear. How are you? We haven’t heard from you in awhile.” Her dad says.

“Yeah, I’m sorry. I’ve been really busy. Things here are great. I’m learning so much.” Keira could never tell her dad about what happened to her. Her pride keeps her from asking for the help she might have needed.

“That’s good to hear. Alpha and I wanted to come and speak with the Alpha. So could you squeeze some time in for your old man?”

“When are you coming?” I ask.

“In two days.”

“Sure. Definitely.” The bruise will be gone by then, she thinks.

“Alright, we’ll see you then.” Her father hangs up. It’s been a few months since she’s seen her father. She’s looking forward to it. She hangs up and checks on her bruise in the mirror. She dries her hair and walks out into the bedroom. After she gets changed
