THELMA’S POV Rhys had prepared an amazing meal for us to eat. We had to put Will to sleep together before I changed into something more comfortable and came out as soon as I could. Deep down, I was very excited about the whole arrangement. THELMA’S POV Five hours later, it was already the close of work, and I was ready to leave. Sage was standing right there at the exit door, and it was totally unknown to me until I sighted him and almost gasped in shock. “I have been waiting for you for almost an hour.” He said calmly, making way for me to pass through. “I didn’t realize that.” I pretended as though I didn’t intentionally stay for an extra hour just to make sure that I didn’t see Sage again that day. But apparently, he was persistent. “Are you avoiding me, Thelma?” “Why would I avoid you? You are my boss, remember?” I smirked while he grunted. “That’s not what I am talking about, and you know it. I wanted to drop you off at home myself just to make sure that you don’t stress yourself. THELMA’S POV The look on their faces showed an intense apprehension even when I smiled to give them the assurance that things were not bad. “Talk to us, Thelma! Did he love it?” Sage asked again while his assistant, Lara moved closer with her hands on her chest as though she was trying to stop it from beating so fast. “We got it,” I announced excitedly, but it didn’t seem like any of them believed me. But they had no reason to, after all, I only spent less than thirty minutes with Brian in the office and we didn’t even get to speak much. “What do you mean, Thelma? THELMA’S POV I definitely was pleased with the way things had been for the past few days, but I wasn’t certain about giving Rhys the open chance to be with me. I got a job, against Rhys’ wish. I didn’t want to solely depend on him, so I decided to put my skills to good use. My new boss, Sage Williams was unpredictable, yet charming. I had made up my mind not to worry about Jax anymore, and to move on with my life. But then there was Sage, and I didn’t even know what he wanted with me. The attention and special treatment he was giving to me was causing some little problems in the company. His special Assistant seemed to be jealous of the fact that she couldn’t order me around whenever he was around because she knew that he was not going to be pleased with it.
