Thelma’s POV

He grabbed my jaw gently, brushing it with his thumb as he let out a smirk.

“You’re the reason I was standing on that ice watching Jax lift it.”

And when he'd bent slightly again, his forearm rested on his knee.

That towel shifted and I looked up fast.

“But hate doesn’t win,” he exhaled“Leverage does.”

I grab the arm rest, my eyes hovering around the room as nothing of what he said was registered in my head.

“You need a visa. You have 42 days before Immigration throws you out.”

His arms were on my trembling thighs, his fingers drew circles on them.

“I need a strategist the League can’t ban. And I need the press off my back.”

“So we use each other.”

It was so cold, so logical, so Rhys and I bite my lips to stop a moan.

“Fake dating,” he declared with a sided smile “That’s the legal loophole. League can’t touch a ‘girlfriend’ sitting in my box. Can’t call it tampering if you’re dating the Captain.”

“You get 90 days. I get my season back.”

He pulled something from the drawer beside him.

It was a paper and a pen.

He set them on the chair arm next to me.

“Sign it,” he ordered “Mate-of-Athlete Guardian Filing. 90 days. Public relationship clause. No sex. No real bond. Just paper.”

My hands squivered. "And if I say no?"

He didn’t lie just placed a smug face.

“Then Security comes back in. You go to the precinct. You get deported in 48 hours."

“And Jax keeps his story. Toxic fan. Leech. Stalker.”

Then he raised his brows, staring at me like a tiny piece which he had to sort.

“Or you say yes.”

I bite my lips nervous and my eyes shook their sockets.

“You come to my box. You sit beside me. You smile for cameras while you break him from the inside.”

He made sense, I could get back at Jax for what he did. For a moment, I broke out of my frightened composure.

"Imagine it, Thelma" he lowered his voice to sound convincing enough.

“Jax sees you in my jersey. Sees me not dropping my shoulder. Sees you making ME win.”

"And do you think that will move him? I mean he doesn't like me" I tamed having a feeling I might loose.

Rhyns paced like a leopard and stood behind me, his hands gripped my shoulders, not hard but more like a calming mechanism.

“He called you a leech in front of everyone.” he whispered, his lips next to my ear tickles and I curl my toes.

“Let’s make him watch you become the reason I take his head off next season.”

My chest hurt, because it was cruel, because it was cruel and it was perfect.

It was the only way out.

I turned slowly, his face was bent slightly over mine and my eyes lustfully stared at his chest.

"No sex" I swallowed like I never meant to say that. "No touching, no real_"

"No" he agreed taking his hands off and then cleared his throat. “Paper only. My wolf doesn’t get to touch you.”

The way he said wolf made my skin prickle and my wolf crashed her head.

He wasn't ours, she knew better off not to be hopeful.

My eyes followed him as he moved to a table I'd just noticed was by the window.

He took the bottle water on it and tossed to me.

"Last thing" he pointed without turning.

_“Last thing,”_ he said without turning. “Jax chose Lena in the public"

"So?" I mouthed just to be aware I was visible at least and not just observant.

"You let me choose you too in public"

He looked back at me. Over his shoulder. Those eyes looked wanting.

“Sign it, Thelma and let's ruin him together"

He was waiting for an answer while my hand twirl the pen I held.

No,” I snapped breathing hard. Rhys lifted a brow like I made the worst decision ever.

"No?”

He repeated piqued. How could I be his girlfriend, he's actually off limit, all his toxic fans would be out there pulling my hair as I wasn't even his standard.

And the fact that I couldn't stop seeing his towel. That didn't end there, dating doesn't stop my deportation.

"No!" I  forced out, pushing the paper back an inch. My fingers were numb. “I’m not signing this if I’m walking back into that hallway and getting deported in 90 days anyway.” I confessed as panic crown me.

42 days. That number was branded on my brain.

If this was a lie, I was so done.

“You’re not," he swiftly buttress, letting out a growl.

“How do you know?” The words came out desperately but I needed him to get something. “Immigration doesn’t care who you’re dating, Captain. They care about papers."

I felt ashamed, pathetic but I could seize this opportunity even if it was with an enemy.

"Then we give them papers.” he replied as though he made the law himself.

“Add a clause," I blurted before my wolf could stop me.

He pulled his brows together, not annoyed but just bemused like I was finally speaking his language.

“Go on.”

I stood up, my legs wobbled like I'd been hit but I had to look up at him, always up.

"I get paid"

He scoffed and then use his palm to rub his face before it connects to his jaw.

"Done" he heaved. "Just name the price"

Money wasn't a problem for him.

I stretched my palm forward, an indication I wasn't done talking.

“Two. I keep my own room. I’m not sleeping in your bed, Virek.”

“You can’t,” he said casually and my body quivered.

“What?”

Fear and cold consumed me.

He’s going to make me share a bed. I knew it.

CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE THELMA’S POV Brian’ eyes turned red, and he looked like he was about to pounce on the Alpha who was seated right beside Briana who already knew that he was not going to ignore the man’s insult on him.Briana looked at me. She said nothing, but I knew that she was telling me to do something so that things wouldn’t get out of hand. I didn’t need to be told that Brian was capable of ruining that party in that mood of his. “Brian? I need you to calm down.” I grabbed Brian by his left arm, but that didn’t seem like it was going to be enough to stop him from getting up from his seat. His parents were equally worried that he was going to cause a great damage, but it didn’t look like they could do anything about it.“I have had enough of all your insults! You don’t have any right to talk to be in that manner! You Daveregret this!” Brian’ chest was rising and falling, and everyone who was seated at the table knew what was about to happen next. Some of them had already be

CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR THELMA’S POV I didn’t know what I was meant to say to Anton, but I still wondered what he was doing there. It appeared like a trap for him to have stopped in front of him barely a few minutes after I stepped out of my house and stopped by the roadside. I couldn’t even trust my instincts even though I believed that Anton would never have any reason to want to harm me. “ What are you doing here, Anton?” I looked around while I was still listening for the answer he was going to give to me.“Well, I figured that you were going to need a ride to the party. The taxi drivers in this area do not really operate by this time due to some ground rules, and I knew that would be very difficult for you. I didn’t want you to be stranded.”Anton sounded like he had my interest at heart, but it was hard to trust him after the little argument we had earlier that day before he walked out on me. “Come on, Thelma. We can’t keep our hosts waiting. I am sure that the party Davestart

CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE THELMA’S POV As soon as Anton walked away from me, I decided that I was going to go home since it was already past the time for close of work. We had to stay a bit longer because of how serious the construction had become, and the fact that some of the workers needed to be monitored closely. Jax wanted to speak to me, but I made sure that I didn’t give him the chance to even get close to him. All he could do was stare at me while I walked away. I knew that I could possibly meet Anton at the party that night, but I decided that all I needed to do was act as though I didn’t see him at the party.I had agreed to go to the party because Briana pleaded with me to, but I wasn’t sure I was prepared if there was going to be any form of drama. I couldn’t wait to get home so that I could rest a little before going for the party. I unlocked the door as soon as I got hold of it, and there was Rhys standing in front of me with a familiar look on his face.He always looked

CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO RHYS’ POV I hoped that Jax was not going to make things more difficult than they were, but I was more bothered about the ongoing drama that had been taking place ever since Jax and my sister arrived in the City. With the way Thelma behaved each time she set her eyes on Jax, I was forced to believe that there was something that I needed to figure out immediately. But with everything that had happened with Pamela and Will, I figured that it was going to be a very terrible idea asking Thelma any questions that could piss her off. I knew that she was still very angry over what happened with Will.Pamela was so callous to have given the poor boy nuts even after I warned not to. I swore that I was going to kill her if I mistakenly set my eyes on her again. Of course, I knew that she must have fled from the City. I was still lost in thought when I heard the sound of the doorbell, causing me to turn toward the direction of the door at once.I figured that it could be The

CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE THELMA’S POV Briana was silent for a while, but I could tell that she was trying to figure out what to say to me. The fact that she was really desperate to make peace with her brother was enough to keep me standing no matter how long it was going to take. “Brian thinks that I stole that contract from him, but I was only following our father’s instruction. I think the only was I can get him to forgive me is by making amends.” I thought about Briana’s suggestion, but I wasn’t quite satisfied with it. “What if it doesn’t work out? What if he has taken his mind off the contract already? You told me that’s this happened a year ago.”“That’s where you come in, Thelma. I need you to talk to me since he is really fond of you. I believe he is going to listen to you more than any other person I can think of. I think he is in love with you.”I cleared my throat at once, but it didn’t look like Briana was going to take back her words. The only thing that mattered to her was

  • OFF LIMITS: FAKE DATING THE ICE KING   Chapter 60

CHAPTER SIXTY THELMA’S POV I should have recognized Briana even without her telling me who she was. She was the exact replica of her mother, just that she was a younger version of her and a bit taller than her. I wondered what she wanted while several thoughts kept on running inside my head. She didn’t look like she was angry at me, so that made me stay calm. “How may I help you?” I asked calmly, hoping that whatever she came to say to me had nothing to do with the fact that her brother was hitting on me. “Can we talk in the car? Please?” She pleaded, but I was a little bit reluctant because I had never seen her before and all of a sudden she wanted to talk to me inside her flashy car. “I have to be back at the company. I don’t want to be late, my boss…”“I promise that this won’t take so long, Thelma. I won’t waste your time, just a couple of minutes.” She insisted, looking like a lot of things were dependent on whatever she was about to say to me. “Just a couple of minutes yo
