The wind swept past his hair as he rode the Harley at almost eighty miles per hour flashing past cars on the highway. Luckily there weren't human cops around as not only would that slow him down, neither did he have time to listen to their speed limit theatrics.Kai was perfectly honed in on Delilah's scent as he allowed that to be the main centre of his focus. No matter where she fled to today he was determined to find her.She was going to have to explain to him what this type of behaviour meant, why she had left him in the wee hours of the morning just after they had confessed their love to each other. It was unbelievable. He felt anger snarl inside him as he revved the engine of the Harley sweeping past two cars that were close together. His safety wasn't of importance to him now, he was a wolf, he was going to heal but hers was a different case.If something happened to be again because of her rash thinking he would be so furious at her. She barely knew how to use her wolf to he
It was the steady and maddening trickling of water that made him open his eyes. Kai was weak, he felt as if he could just lie there, wherever it is he was without a care in the world, without having to worry about anything or anyone. But he knew that was the silver speaking instead of him. Silver had different effects on different wolves; some, it killed them outright, some, it made them so weak they just wanted to give up.That was Kai's state at that moment, he just wanted to close his eyes and call it quits.Tapping into his reserves of strength he was able to crane his neck to look around him, accessing his surroundings. The area he was in was pitch black and because of the silver that was used on him he couldn't switch to his wolf sight as silver also negated his powers rendering them ineffective. From what little he could gather from his human eyes it seemed to be some sort of workshop. His eyes could feebly make out a bench somewhere in the room and a tool box on the ground.
Kai stood over the female wolf watching her very carefully to confirm she was dead. She just lay there on the ground unmoving.A few seconds more passed and he prodded her with the toe of his boots and her body just flopped about.Sure of her death he stepped into the room that had once held him captive and rushed straight towards Delillah. The Beta he had smashed his head against his face was gone. Kai didn't care though. He reached Delillah and felt goosebumps crawl across his skin as soon as he set his eyes on her.Her skin was deathly pale with green network of veins evident against the paper white skin. He watched the veins carefully as another fresh wave of goosebumps hit him.The front of the gown she wore was matted with dried blood and he didn't need a seer to tell him she has been stabbed multiple times.Kai let out a ferocious yell and hit the table workbench feeling the vibration course through him.He didn't have time to get angry, what he needed to do was act quickly.Th
Eternal darkness, to her left to her right in front of her, behind her. Even as the world around her was pitch black Delilah was aware of one thing.Another presence was within her becoming alive, slowly. It felt like a second being one she was a bit familiar with. She couldn't see anything around her, even as she waved her hands in front of her she was already aware that was a futile move as nothing was visible. She didn't even get back the vibration from the displacement of air from the movement.Walking around would be futile too, for all she knew she could just be walking around endlessly without ever coming to a stop.It wasn't something she was willing to risk as just the thought made her uneasy. If this was what death felt like, peaceful, dark, silent and boring then it wasn't as she had imagined.Delilah could remember the blades sinking into her stomach over and over and over again. The wet smacking sounds they made as they went in and out of her body didn't leave her ears ei
Delilah was aware of something settling on her face before she opened her eyes. Looking up she could see a window directly above her that was allowing sunlight to filter in, the rays settling on her face. She felt tired as though all the energy in her body had been sucked into a vacuum. slowly but surely her brain let her know she was in a small room.Small room, sunlight, was she alive again.Craning her neck she looked around her slowly confirming that she was indeed inside a room. She was still doubtful thinking that the scene had changed from dark woods to a room.Delilah's mind was reeling with confusion. How was it possible that she was still alive, the scene in the woods had vanished what did it mean? She could vaguely remember seeing Dean with a child.Slowly, meticulously she sat up on the bed taking stock of the black bedspread that had been used to cover her and the room which certainly looked like that of a guy.The walls had been covered by posters of bands and in one pa
Delilah stood there in the room standing for a few minutes shell-shocked at what he'd just said.In a way she couldn't blame him, she had made some wrong choices but that didn't mean he had to send her back to that monster.Grief turned to anger and anger turned to rage. Men were all the same, they were all scum each and every one of them.Angrily, Delilha kicked at the bed that was close to her.How could he, how could he behave like that, how could he tell her to go back to Liam. Everyone made mistakes so what wrong did she do to have made a wrong choice. In the end she had been thinking about his safety.Delilah sat down on the bed dejectedly, she was too tired to cry. She wasn't even sure she had any tears left to give to any predicament she was going through. She was just disappointed at Kai's choice of words, still disbelieving that he was sending her away, turning his back on her just because he found out Liam was her mate. She needed air to clear her head and get rid of all t
Darkness surrounded her again, this time not as dark as the last time she had been unconscious.Somewhere in the recesses of her mind she could hear Miranda speaking out to her.Don't fight it, go with the flow. Not that she could see anything to particularly fight to begin with. Looking around her Delilah could vaguely make out patches of grass and tall trees but the darkness remained. It was like watching images unfold behind a screen, she was there but couldn't engage in anything. She could see two shapes walking together, and as she peered closely she could make out a man and a woman. Their hands were linked together as they made their way to a tree.Delilah in shock recognised the tree. It was the same tree Kai had taken her to when he wanted her to find the connection to her wolf. Easily distinguishable by the carpet of green that surrounded the base of the tree. The man and woman stopped close to the tree and kissed each other passionately before the both of them vanished in w
As soon as the man who had delivered the message finished Delilha was up on her feet, her heart beating madly in her chest. She was torn between two emotions.Rage at what her uncle had done to her and her parents and fear at the wolves who had just infiltrated the healer pack."How?" that's not possible Miranda said, staring pointedly at the man."Apparently they tracked someone here the Betas outside are requesting to meet someone named Delilah.Delilah's heart sank at those words. It was definitely Liam and his pack there was no doubt about it."She's my guest and she's in my grounds. Tell them to leave."
