AURELIA'S POINT OF VIEW

" What? I don't understand” i stuttered as i looked at him in shock, my hand still in his as he looked back at me, pure rage and irritation and shock in his eyes but his face was completely blank, he knew how to hide his emotions well but for some reason, i could read him to an extent.

" I'm sorry, I got the information that the meeting was for eleven, I did not know it was for ten in the morning, sir.”

I heard another voice say, and turned to look, A female voice stuttered as I turned to look at the blonde-haired woman at the end of the hall, looking like a deer caught in headlights.

I heaved a sigh of relief as I realized I was not fired.

" Why is she still here?” He - Levi said irritably and instantly, his workers moved swiftly into action as she was led out of the office.

" You will all come to know this: tardiness is not an option; if you are one second late, you're out. I am not entertaining lazy lawyers here. If you want to be with the best, you must be one of the best, and since you cannot be the very best, since that position belongs to me, you can settle for the best.”

He said as he moved away from me.

I suddenly felt cold..

He spat out a few more instructions before he dismissed us with a wave of his hand.

I wanted nothing more than to get out of that building.

" Thank God, “I whispered as I moved behind them all. Since I came in last, I was the very last on the row.

I was just about to leave the room when I heard something behind me.

" Miss Cross, wait behind," he said, making me jump internally.

The redhead winked at me discreetly, but just as she was about to leave, he said to her.

“You're fired too, get out of my building," he said, making both os us look at each other wide-eyed.

" But please -” she began, but she had no chance as she was escorted out by security.

" Next time take things seriously, “ he said to her, she she was led out as she bowed her head in shame.

Did this man just fire her for winking???

I almost shivered at the absurdity.

The door to the hall closed with a thud, leaving only me in the room WITH HIM, and suddenly, it felt too small as I could barely breathe, his stare hot on my back.

" Come here,” he commanded, and fearful of losing this internship, I hurriedly moved closer to him.

" Aurelia Cross, hmm….how dare you?" He sneered

“I'm sorry?" I asked confused

“Don't play coy with me, you did this on purpose," he said, looking at me with anger.

“I still do not understand you, sir."

“You approached me knowing who I was. What do you want? Money, a job, tell me what you want," he said, stunning me.

“What? I'm sorry…….huh???" I said, still in shock, “You think I slept with you because of…? I whispered out for fear that someone was listening.

“I would not put it past you. After all, I am a very famous man with a lot of money, you could have gone to that club after stalking me for months only to seek an opportunity to sleep with me and then blackmail me, so what do you want?"

“Mr Vale, I will have you know this is very disrespectful to me as my person, how dare you?" I fought back a yell

“Don't act like you do not know what I mean, I know how your kind is, so just spit it out, what do you want?” He asked

" I will have you know this, I went to that bar to celebrate getting this internship, which by the way, was not so easy to come by. I am one of the best in my class, and even that was not enough, I applied multiple times before I finally got accepted, and I am going to become a lawyer with my skills. You must have the world on your shoulders, hmm?? I had no idea who you were or that you were going to be there! Do not disrespect me by saying this ever again. I am fighting for someone, and that's why I am here, so respect me, and I will do the same to you.”

I said heatedly before I walked out of the hall without turning back.

…………..

THE NEXT DAY AT LAW SCHOOL

I was so late!

I rushed forward past the cars and throng of people as I ran to my lecture hall.

Because i was so pissed at Levi the devil Vale, i drank myself to stupor while cursing him out in different languages…most of them gibberish before i blacked out on the bed.

I woke up thirty minutes past my time, and now I was five minutes late for class.

We were having a new professor today, and it was a bad first impression to be so late.

I rushed into the hall, hurriedly finding my seat as I fanned myself.

I was sweaty, hot, and out of breath.

Not a way to start a new semester

Less than three minutes later, the doors opened again to reveal our dean and someone very familiar.

Oh shit!

It was him!

Levi!

He walked behind the desk.

“Good morning, everyone. As you all know, we will have a special guest professor here to take you all on criminal law, and who better than our very own Levi Vale, the man who graduated at the best of his class to do this. I will leave you all/” he said before hugging him and walking out.

" This class is not a compulsory one, the other hall has Mr Dickinson, he can take you on the same course, so if you do not meet my requirements,, you will be sent out immediately and that might be good for you since that means I will not be marking your scripts.” He said before looking at me

“You," he said, still looking straight at me.

Shit!

I could feel the devil smirking down at me as I stood up, ready to face whatever he would bring against me now.

AURELIA'S POINT OF VIEW.I walked down the east wing hallway barefoot, sighing in content as my feet made contact with the cold marble tiles as I moved. The mansion felt silent; on most days, it usually was, but for some reason, the silence today had an eerie feel. The rain had finally stopped, but in its wake, it left grey skies which looked like they would release more rain on the earth in no time. I made my way to the kitchen, intent on satisfying my cravings. Levi was working in his office, so I was pretty much left to my own company for some time. I held my romance novel in my hands as I opened the refrigerator. So far, the novel did an excellent job at keeping me entertained, especia;;y with its plot twists. The author did her big one with the book. Because for some reason. I could not be away from my tablet for more than five minutes. The plate of sliced strawberries dipped in chocolates, which had hardened, earned a smile on my face as I pulled it out. I moaned at the taste o

LEVI'S POINT OF VIEW.The words from the call wouldn’t leave my head.My feet carried me down the hall as I headed into the kitchen. I needed something to distract me from the impending doom Matthew could bring with him.The storm outside pressed harder against the glass, hitting the windows in the process and eliciting a groan from them. It was pouring like the world would not get rain after some time today, and for some reason, I welcomed it.The storm would be a good excuse to have Aurelia in the house for as long as possible. If he brother or grandfather needed to visit her, they could come over. The wind howled in bursts and rattled branches against the stone walls. Somewhere beyond the front gates, the old iron hinges were complaining in a low, rhythmic screech as they fought against the force of the rain and the wind. But I knew they would not succumb; I only made use of the best materials in my house. And the moment Matthew's threats came up, I had my decorators put up a gate

LEVI'S POINT OF VIEW.The text blinked up at me from the corner of my monitor, its sharp white letters slicing through the darkened room like a knife. It felt like someone had taken a knife and stabbed through my heart, using the words that stared back at me.The words replayed in my mind like a broken clock, like a horror movie, like a horrible song, you could not get out of your mind. You think you can protect yourself from me? I’m coming for you, and all you’ve got very soon. You’ll pay, little bro, you will pay dearly for all you’ve done. Keep her safe for as long as you can, because when I come, you and your connections will not be enough to save her from me.My pulse didn’t just spike, it dropped, as a cold weight settled in my chest, dragging my heartbeat down with it.Was my heart even still beating? I had no idea. I could barely tell how I functioned in that moment.Little bro. Those two words sparked a memory I had buried deep within my mind.It had been years since I’d hear

LEVI'S POINT OF VIEW.They looked at each other wordlessly, their eyes sparking with curiosity and shock. They hadn't expected it, and I certainly relished in the look of shock on their faces."Do you have any proof whatsoever that Miss Veronica made false claims in her regard of you in the video she made?" Corbert asked, and I had finally had enough of seeing his face on my screen."Well, there are the eye witness accounts of her sucking you off last week, just before you promised her, 'I'll make sure that bastard and his cunt get ripped to shreds at the council meeting' after she made you come." He started coughing, his face growing redder with embarrassment, as the hairs on his head stood straight like antennas."Mr Vale! I will not tolerate any lies against my person at this meeting! Do you have any idea of who the hell I am?" He yelled, looking like he had to fight himself with restraint so he wouldn't leap through the screen to lunge at me."Yes, I have proof." At that, he pur

LEVI'S POINT OF VIEW.I watched as Auriela slept soundly on our bed, her brown hair all over the pillows as she snuggled the covers. She's pregnant. She's carrying my child....my mind could barely fathom it.The fact that I would soon be a father and a husband.Vanessa's breakup hit me hard, especially her betrayal of my brother. I knew Matthew hated me, especially after that day at the orphanage. Up until the moment he got arrested, and pleaded with me to take his case, I'd hated him, was scared of him, and desired above all else to be cut off from him. So when he sent the message from prison, about how he needed his brother, and his connections to come through for him, like I was not struggling with my debts at the time.Like he hadn't betrayed me.Like he hadn't treated me worse than an enemy after our parents died. His friends abandoned him, and Vanessa? She flew off the bat, making sure to escape to a place where no one would find her.Not that I ever searched. So the fact that

AURELIA'S POINT OF VIEW.The sound of water going down the toilet fills the bathroom, as well as my breathing and constant tapping of my fingers against the counter. I regarded the pregnancy test strip like it were acid, like it would come to life in an instant, and begin to rip me to shreds."It's okay, baby, whatever happens, we'll get through it together," Levi says, from behind me, as he rubs my shoulders in an attempt to ease my anxiety.I nodded, staring at the strip as we got to the last few seconds before the news would be released.Am I pregnant, or not?The alarm clock dinged from behind us, startling me, so I jumped into Levi's hands. He quickly turned it off, shutting its sounds and plunging the bathroom into silence again."It's time," I whispered.Walking to the counter felt scary, like every step was lava and I was melting, burning with each move of my legs.I picked the strip and turned it around, ready to face the truth even if it would feel like a sledgehammer. And j
