CHAPTER 6: SEARCHING…

ROSWELL MONTEFALCO POV's 

"It's been a long year. Dude, she still hasn't been found," I said. I took a sip of the wine in my glass. 

"Forget it bro. It was just a one night stand. I'm sure the girl has already forgotten what happened to the both of you"

I shook my head because of what Ivan said.

For three years I couldn't get that girl's face out of my system. 

"Don't be like that, dude. You've already gotten a lot of women that's why you're like that" Clarence told Ivan.

Ivan was speechless. He's the great cassanova to the three of us.

I admit that girl was not my first. But she is the last one. I haven't slept with another woman in the past three years.

"I also asked at the bar. They said that was the first time the girl and her friends behaved at the bar, so they don't know her either," Clarence said. 

"After that night, that girl and her friends never behaved again at the bar," he added before taking a sip of wine from his glass. 

It has been three years since that night happened with me and the woman.

My conscience always tormented me because I got her virginity.

"That girl. I remember her face well" I looked at Clarence when he said that. 

"What? Who?" Ivan asked him. 

Clarence shook his head and took another sip of wine from the glass.

"I remember here. I just followed them when I entered the Bar. And I heard her say that they should go to the restaurant and eat instead of drinking at the bar. I also remembered that she had just graduated that night," said Clarence.

I got sick from what I was drinking. And seriously look at the friend. 

Now, the pair of eyes of Clarence and Ivan will be mine. 

"You need to take full responsibility for that girl whose virginity you took," Clarence told me. 

That's why my conscience doesn't keep me quiet. Besides that girl just graduated, I got her virginity. 

"By the way, Rence. How did you know that the girl just graduated from college?" Ivan turned to Clarence.

"They shouted happy graduation to them that night. And I also remembered that the girl was congratulated by her friends, when I heard she graduated with flying colors," explained Clarence.

Clarence has a good memory. So I know he is not wrong in what he says. He is one of our friends who likes to criticize quietly. Maybe because of the type of work he does. 

One after the other, I tried to drink alcohol. 

"Clarence. Search for her, I will pay you. No matter how much" I ordered Rence. Before saying goodbye to go home.

MAXINE's POV

"Friend, I can really beat you up. Look at you now.Your charisma hasn't even decreased"Joel exclaimed.

I just laughed at my friend's flattery.

"How is your dad Maxine? Why don't you introduce Alle to him?" We simultaneously turned to Alle who was chewing spaghetti.

I held my breath and shook my head at Joel's question.

"No. But when I was five months pregnant with Alle, I felt like I saw Papa. I just don't know if I just missed it or if I really saw him?" I said uncertainty. But it looks like he was seen in Switzerland. He also immediately disappeared like a bubble.

"Really? Maybe Tito sent you to Switzerland? You know, Maxine. Tito loves you very much. He can't stand you"

Joel is right. Papa can't stand me.

"Sorry friend, I'm not by your side when you're having a hard time. You know I can't leave Joyce alone. That crazy person might get depressed again. If only I could divide my body into a crib. It's like one for Joyce and one for you," he said

I laugh softly. I took his hand and stopped him from squeezing. I was very happy with the last thing he said, he really cared and supported Joyce and me.

"Thank you, Joel for everything" I replied with a smile.

"No, Maxine. You and Joyce are my family, so I will help as much as my powers can," he said.

I smiled. I'm lucky to have a friend like Joel.

"Didn't you have a hard time giving birth?" he asked me.

I smiled and shook my head at the person I was talking to.

"I didn't have any difficulty getting pregnant with Alle. Maybe, she felt that we were the only two together so she didn't make me suffer. Brother Marvin also has a girlfriend who is an OB-Gyne who always checks my condition." I explained.

 Joel nodded at everything I said.

"What's your plan now Maxine? I find you a job" he offered.

"Don't worry about me Joel. I'm just waiting for the call from the company I applied to" I refused his offer.

I am now a full-fledged Mom, so I need to get used to being independent. I really hope that I will be accepted. Even though I have no work experience.

"Honestly, Maxine. You don't look like your daughter. The only thing she got from you was your smile. She races beautifully," Joel said to Alle, who was busy drawing on the coffee table. She just finished eating spaghetti.

I laughed at what Joel said. Brother Marvin and Mama also say that my daughter doesn't look like me.

I turned my phone when it rang. I quickly answered you.

"Alle. You are here with your Uncle Joel first. Mommy has work but I will call you. Sweetie" I told Alle. Then I kissed her on the forehead.

Suddenly, the executive assistant of the Montefalco Airlines Company that I applied for a job called me. 

She said that now I have to report to the Company even though I haven't been interviewed yet. I wonder why? Am I over qualified so I won't be interviewed and I can go to work right away?

"Okay, mommy. I love you" she smiled at me.

"I love you more, sweetie," I smiled. 

I kissed her before I finally left.

"I'll drop you off, Maxine. To save you money on the fare, Joyce will pick you up later. Her coffee shop is right next to the company you work for," said Joel.

I nodded to him.

I walked and ran just to get to where the elevator was about to close. There were three employees on the elevator when I entered.

I pressed the 25.

"She's your new secretary? She looks like an actress, doesn't she?"

"I heard that she's a flight attendant and that's why she's qualified as a secretary. She's pretty, isn't she?"

"She's lucky. She can always be with our boss, it's a shame that there are rumors that Sir is gay"

I just held my breath at the whispers of the three women who were also on the elevator, as if I was invisible in their eyes.

I suddenly got nervous remembering the executive assistant's reminder that Mr. Montefalco is strict when it comes to work.

First of all, he forbade me to be late for work. What can I do if I'm really late? They rushed me.

I felt nervous when my floor opened where I found the office of my future boss. Take notes! He is the CEO of this Company. I got out of the elevator. A woman came out from inside Mr. Montefalco's office, she immediately smiled when she saw me.

I also smiled to recognize it. She is the executive assistant. I greeted her.

"Good morning Ms. De Lara, Sir is waiting for you inside his office. That's your desk" she pointed to the table on the right.

I was amazed at the papers I saw piled up there.

"Here is Sir's schedule for today" she said and gave me the tablet gadgets she was holding.

"Just call me if you have something to ask me. Goodluck!" she said with a smile before leaving me alone.

I let out a breath before going to Sir Montefalco's office.

"You can do it Maxine" I whispered to myself as I finally got inside.

I was stunned when my eyes saw the man wearing a black business suit. His papers are piled on his desk. He looks at them one by one and signs them. 

His face was turned so I couldn't see his face.

It didn't seem to notice my presence so I was free to observe it.

I thought Mr. Montefalco was old?

Why is this man so young?

Did I go to the wrong floor?

Can I ask Ms.Sesno, again?

I was about to turn away when I heard it tasted.

"G-good morning sir?" I tried to greet him. I'm too nervous. This is my first job in my whole life.

"Cancel all my schedule today," he said.

He didn't even look up to look at me. He continued to read the piles of papers on his desk.

"Yes, Sir" was my only answer and left his office.

I went to my desk. I looked at the papers piled up there. I unfolded it one by one and arranged it.

"Ms. De Lara? Come in" I almost jumped in shock when I heard Sir Montefalco's voice from the intercom.

I immediately stood up and quickly entered the office of Mr. Montefalco.

I was stunned when he raised his face and looked me straight in the eye.

Alle's image immediately played in my mind when I saw her eyes and his whole face. And what is his connection with my daughter? That's impossible!

"Hey Ms. De Lara did you hear me?"

I returned to my trance when I heard his baritone voice.

"Y-yes sir"

I shook my head at the strange thought. Impossible!

I left Sir Montefalco's office with a big question mark on my brain.

Why do they look so much like my daughter Alle?
