Chapter 59

Ricardo Sanguin's POV

The sound of the gunfire right in front of me rang sharp and cost me my hearing. I saw Ivy drop the gun on the floor and kneeled right after, crying. For a few seconds I was lost in the suddenness of everything that transpired, thinking I got shot by Rex. With my shaking hands I hurriedly unlocked the chain from my foot and ran to Ivyrose. I hugged her as we both sat there and cried with Nestor and Rex’s bodies on the floor, their blood pooling around us.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Rosie.” I repeated, again and again.

I don’t know how long we sat there, crying and me asking for her forgiveness. I felt like someone was squeezing my heart so tight, making it almost impossible to breathe. If not for the warmth of her body as she hugged me tight, I would’ve gladly wanted death to take me too. But I couldn’t leave her. I needed to protect her, especially now that Rex was truly dead.

“Gareth? Please take me out of here.”

“Okay, Rosie. Hold on.” I got up firs
