CHAPTER 1

Sofiya’s pov.

“Oh my God this is great news,” I squeal, running to hug my boyfriend. We held each other hands as we bounced up and down laughing out loud.

“I’m so happy, now I can finally do all the things I have been dreaming about,” He said with a wide smile.

“See, I told you to believe, Now we have to think about how to best use this money so we don’t go bankrupt ever again,” I said while trying to hug him again but he pushed me away.

“Who is we?” he thundered.

I stared at him in shock “What do you mean?”

“Don’t act dumb woman,” he chuckled “Don’t tell me, you actually believe that you will have in share in my money,”

“I’m confused, what are you talking about,” I said, my heart beat running fast “ I thought when you win the lottery, we would finally clear out some of our debts and also maybe this time you could help with the rent,”

My boyfriend laughed loud and long as if I had told the funniest joke known to mankind, after he was done laughing he stared at me with a serious look.

“Look Sofiya, I always knew you were not very bright, but I never expected you to be this dumb,” he criticized looking at me from head to toe.

“What are you talking about,” I said meekly while rubbing my sweaty palms together.

“Let me spell it out, Sofiya since obviously you are suffering from brain damage, I don’t like you, in fact, I despise you with every fiber of my being, I hate being next to you, your laughter, the way you eat, every fucking thing about you irritates me, I wish you will stop breathing right now because even that is annoying,”

I shaked my head frantically, panicking and breathing so fast unable to believe what I was hearing.

I swallowed hard “You always told me you loved and cared for me. Are you joking with me right now, because if you are it’s not funny, so please stop,”

He chuckled wearing a smug look “I told all that because I knew you were gullible and desperate for love, I knew if a planted a kiss on your head and fuck you real good, you would do anything I asked for and I was right”

“Tell me you are lying, because you are hurting me right,”

“You deserve it, next time you will not be so stupid as to think anybody would want to love you or spend the rest of their life with you, Take a look at yourself in the mirror,” he said pointing his hands in the direction of the mirror in our room “Do that person you see looks like it deserves love, the answer is No,”

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, watching as tears flowed freely down my cheek.

My boyfriend walked up and passed both his hands on my shoulder, his eyes that once seemed to adore and love me now looked at me like I was dirty.

“Look, I know I might sound harsh right now, but in time you know I did the right thing by telling you the truth. Some of us are not created for Love and you are one of them,” he paused and then continued softly, “Don’t feel bad, you can cheer the rest of us as we find love and wealth,”

I turned to look at him, “Are you breaking up with me?”

“For fuck sake, what did you think I was doing, proposing to you, I am BREAKING UP WITH YOU,”

I fell to the ground and curled up, crying uncontrollably.

“Stop being so dramatic Sofiya, your crying will do you no good,” he scolded.

I lifted my wet face and glared at him in anger. “You are right, there is no point in me crying over a deadbeat. Carry your stuff and get OUT OF MY HOUSE,”

“I will be happy to, sweetheart,” he smiled and looking at everywhere in disgust, he continued, “Besides, this place no longer fits my standard,”

“GET OUT,” I screamed.

“No need to scream, I no longer want to be in this garbage, you call a home,” He hissed.

As soon as he closed the door, all my confidence cleared and I started crying, I had loved him wholeheartedly for the last five years of my life, I had imagined we would get married and have beautiful children together, but his love for me was nothing but fake. All he had been doing all along was using me to pay his debt, feeding him, and letting him stay in my house without him ever paying a single rent.

I called my best friend, hoping she would come over and stay by my side, I wanted her to help me stop feeling this sadness, but all the calls ended in voicemail.

I sighed, I had no intention of staying in this house longer than necessary, it reminded me of all the memories, I wanted to forget, so I grabbed my coat and headed to the nearest bar.

The bartender sensing that something was wrong spoke up “I know just the drink for you,”

“I need something strong,” I said sitting on the bar stool.

“The stone-cold stinger is exactly what you need,” he said giving me a shot.

I winced as soon as I took the shot, “Give me three more,”

“You sure,”

I nodded.

“Care to talk about it?”

“Nope,” I answered, shaking my head.

Just then a tall handsome man walked into the bar, his appearance took my breath away as well as every other person in the room, he had a well defined chiseled face and beautiful jet-black hair, when he looked in my direction, my heart skipped and I quickly turn my face in embarrassment. He went into the VIP section, joining a group of people who seemed to be waiting for him.

“He is an eye candy, right,” the bartender winked at me.

I blushed “He is really attractive,”

“He is and he knows that too, that’s why he has a hard thing sticking with one girl. He knows there will always be girls flocking around him, it must be nice to be him,” The bartender said.

“So he doesn't have a girlfriend,”

“He is a regular here so I would know if he did, Girls are dying to be his girlfriend though, I will be too if I was a girl, He is freaking rich,” he said.

Handsome, Rich, all the qualities I need to get back at my ex-boyfriend, so without thinking I dropped the change on the counter and headed straight to the VIP section.

“Marry me,” I announced, staring at him.

“What?” he said, taken aback by my strange request.

“Marry me,” I said more loudly.

“Get this Golddigger out of my sight,” he said signaling to his guard.

All the confidence that the shot had given me seemed to disappear immediately.

“Marry me, please,” I said desperately.

The guard stood before me and asked me to leave, I threw my card containing my name and number at him.

“Please call me, in case you need a wife,” I yelled as the guard carried me out of the bar.
