LOGINDANTE
Sitting in the back seat of my car, I groaned as I glanced down at my wound that opened again from my excessive movement. "Getting your dick sucked with that kind of injury is simply crazy!" Matteo shook his head, his face in a permanent scowl. Tony, my second cousin snorted, his gaze fixed on the phone in his hand as he typed away. Probably looking for someone to fuck next. I ignored the both of them, my mind drifted to the girl I left kneeling on the floor in her living room. She had been too embarrassed to raise her head after Matteo had barged in on us. I didn't know why or when I became so careless but I was glad Matteo had come when he did. Still trying to put a face on where I had seen her before, I turned to Tony and said coldly. "Find out everything you can about her before today ends." Before closing my eyes shut. He grumbled about how I had just spoilt his fun for today but I was sure he could get the job done in the next few hours. "Luca had been asking for you. You promised to be there with him tonight for his birthday party." Matteo said suddenly and I opened my eyes and stared at his face through the rearview mirror. Shit! I had forgotten today was my son's fifth birthday, I promised I would be there but I wasn't. I could already feel the incoming headache. *** LYRA Why? Just why did I let him provoke me into sucking his dick, and I was caught. I had never felt so stupid in my life. I didn't even know who he was or where he had come from. And I just had to embarrass myself by proving something that doesn't even mean anything. And I couldn't believe I got wet and dripping just from sucking him off. What the hell was I thinking? And with a dead body just by the door? I felt stupid. Just then, my phone rang and I rushed to pick it, my finger paused as I stared at the caller ID, it was my dad. Why was he calling me? He hasn't called me for more than five times in the past twenty one years. He only calls when he needed something from me. "Hello, papa." I picked up and greeted after calming my nerves and steadying my voice. "You should come back home." He said coldly and I clench my teeth. I knew he would say this, I had been avoiding my family but I knew I couldn't avoid them forever. "Papa, you know..." I started but he cut me off. "Your sister's getting married." He said and I paused, my heart thumping in my chest. "What? When? To who?" I asked a series of questions that I knew he wouldn't answer unless I go back home. "I'll be expecting to see you tomorrow." He simply said before ending the call. I stared at my phone for a long time, thinking about how controlling my father was and as the first daughter, I was supposed to be the prim and proper child who answers to his beck and call...but I wasn't, my grandma made sure of that. Sighing, I dropped my phone and stood up. I didn't even have the strength to clean up my small living room but I didn't care, after everything that had happened today I needed a good sleep. So I decided to rest. *** The next day Walking into the night club, I glanced at my phone screen before breathing a sigh of relief...I wasn't late. "Hey Lyra!" Sandra greeted from behind the bar counter with a wide grin on her face. Sandra was my co-worker and best friend. She knows almost all my deepest secrets and what I did five years ago. "Hey Sandra!" I waved back and took my place beside her. "You're on serving duty today, remember?" She raised an eyebrow at me and I sighed. "I'll share my tips?" I blinked at her but she shook her head. "You can't bribe me today, I need to stay behind the counter... Enzo's orders." She stated and my shoulders slumped, I knew I couldn't go against Enzo's orders. "Okay, fine. No sharing of my tips then." I shrugged and smiled when she gasped dramatically. "Off you go!" She pushed me slightly after handing me a tray with drinks and I laughed as I moved towards a group of men that already looked drunk. "Here are your drinks, gentlemen." I smiled as I placed the bottles on the table in front of them and I noticed as their eyes roam around my body. Scums! As I turned to leave one of them held my hand, "Why don't you have a drink or two with us? We promise you a good time." He licked his lips and I almost gagged. "No thank you. You know the rules here, you can't ask us to drink with you!" I smirked and he scowled but I didn't care one bit. "Nice butt!" The ugly thing said, smacking my ass as I moved past him. "Fuck you!" I cursed, flipping my middle finger at him as I swayed my hips back to the counter. I could hear their loud whistling from behind me. Well...I couldn't blame them, I was dressed in a short skirt, nety leggings and a very deep neck crop top...dress code. "They can't keep their hands to themselves like always!" Sandra scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Tell me about it." I shrugged. "Hey..." Sandra called and I turned to her, confused. "What's wrong?" I asked as I noticed the slight frown on her face. "I have a feeling that someone has be staring at you since you got here." She nodded towards a very dark corner in the club but I could barely make out anyone there. After adjusting my eyes, I managed to make out a figure of a man sitting there. I noticed the strokes of black tattoo that peaked out from underneath the sleeves of his dark suit and that was all...the rest of his being was hidden like a shadow. Shrugging, I stood behind the counter and watched as my boyfriend Nick (or should I say ex?) walked into the club with him arms wrapped around the waist of a bimbo. We had been doing on and off for months now so I decided I was single, I didn't care if he decided to sleep with all the girls in the city. Noticing me, his eyes roamed around my body before meeting mine. "I didn't know you worked here." He smirked and I scoffed inwardly. I smiled sweetly at him, "I didn't know you have a new girlfriend! How is Celeste?" I asked about the last girl I saw with him with a confused face. He frowned, probably clenching his teeth but I didn't care. "Honey, who's this?" His bimbo asked with an obviously fake voice. I glanced at Sandra and we both forced ourselves to hold back our laughs. "Oh, I'm his girlfriend or ex." I said before he could say anything. Her face changed suddenly as she pressed her fake boobs into his arms and whined. "Is that true?" She asked Nick while blinking cutely. God!! "No, she's just joking!" He smiled nervous and rubbed her lower back reassuringly. She turned to me and smirked triumphantly that I almost laughed out. "Oh sweetheart, you can keep him. His dick was small anyways," I smiled but it didn't reach my eyes "It couldn't even scratch an itch." Scoffing, Nick spat out angrily. "You were always insensitive to my touch and always so fucking dry." he smirked like he had just shamed me in front of everyone. "I think you're just too small that sleeping with you felt like trying to put a pin inside of a cup." I grinned, raising my brows as I stared at his crotch, shaking my head in pity.LYRAI couldn't stay there another second. The moment the song ended, I pulled my hand away from Mr. Bianchi and forced a polite smile."Excuse me."Before he could respond, I slipped through the crowd.I didn't bother looking back.I walked toward the quieter side of the hotel, away from the ballroom and the endless noise of people talking, laughing, and celebrating an engagement that felt more like a funeral to me.As I passed a waiter, I grabbed another glass of champagne without thinking.I took a sip as I continued walking, then another.By the time I reached the back hallway, my head already felt lighter than it should.Great.Exactly what I needed.I stopped myself from taking another drink and set the empty glass down on a nearby table.I had already had enough.I pushed through the back doors and stepped outside. The cool night air hit my face immediately.I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.Much better. The hotel garden stretched behind the building, beautifully lit by
LYRADante was walking toward me.My heart immediately started pounding.I didn't know what he wanted, but judging by the amused look on his face, I knew he hadn't forgotten me.I took a small step backward."Dont..."Before I could finish, the lights in the ballroom dimmed slightly, and a voice came through the speakers."Good evening, ladies and gentlemen."Everyone turned toward the stage.Dante also stopped walking.I looked at him for a moment before turning my attention to the stage as well."Thank you all for joining us tonight to celebrate a very special occasion."The room filled with applauses.I glanced at Dante again. He was standing a few feet away now, his expression unreadable. The man on the stage continued speaking, but I barely listened. My attention was still fixed on Dante.Until I heard a familiar name."Please welcome the beautiful bride to be, Miss Iris Lombardi."My head snapped toward the stage as Iris stepped forward. She looked nervous, but she smiled polite
LYRAI stared at myself in the mirror for a few seconds, hardly recognizing the woman staring back at me.The deep wine colored evening gown hugged my figure perfectly, flowing down to the floor in soft, elegant folds. The neckline was simple but flattering, while the fitted waist brought out my curves without making the dress feel uncomfortable. My red curls had been styled loosely, allowing them to fall around my shoulders in soft, bouncy waves.I touched one of the curls absentmindedly before sighing.Tonight was Iris's engagement party.I still couldn't believe I was actually going. Two days ago, I had been working my usual shift at the club, and now I was standing in a room that probably cost more than my entire apartment, dressed like I was attending some royal event.I took one last look at myself before stepping out of the room. The moment I reached the top of the stairs, I saw Iris standing at the bottom. And my breath caught. She looked absolutely beautiful. Her emerald gr
DANTE The room was quiet except for the sound of heavy breathing. Three men were tied to metal chairs in the middle of the basement. Blood stained the concrete floor beneath them. I stood by the table, slowly removing my gloves. None of them dared to look at me. They had tried to kill me two nights ago, now they were shaking like frightened animals. I pulled out the chair across from them and sat down calmly. My men stood behind me in silence. “I’m going to ask this once,” I said, my voice echoed softly in the cold room. “Who sent you?” The room stayed silent. None of them answered. The man in the middle kept his eyes on the floor like he was hoping the ground would open up and swallow him. The one on the left was breathing so hard his chest kept rising and falling. The third man tried to look brave, but the sweat running down the side of his face betrayed him. I watched them for a few seconds, then I smiled. Slowly, I stretched out my hand to the side
LYRAAs I sat in my father's office, I wondered about what he was going to say to me. In front of me was a huge expensive looking desk with files on it.My father sat on his leather chair, his gaze burrowing a hole through my skull. There was an awkward air around us but I didn't care. It was expected because we hadn't seen each other in ages.He cleared his throat, finally breaking the decades of silence."There will be a dinner party here for your sister's engagement in two days time and it's important that you attend as you will be meeting your fiance there." He said without a hint of warmth. My brows furrowed into a frown, my 'fiance?'I chuckled, amusement dancing in my eyes. "My fiance?" I asked to be sure I heard right."Yes." He replied, then he continued after a small pause, "Your engagement will take place next month."I scoffed, my grip tightening around the hem of my dress. "So this was why you asked me to come." I said calmly, my chest clenching in whatever emotions I was
LYRA Knock knock!!! A loud knock on the door jolted me awake. I groaned and rolled over, my heart racing like I had been caught doing something wrong. It took me a second to remember where I was. The massive soft bed I was in made me remember everything that happened last night or should I say, earlier today? I squinted my eyes and reached for the clock on the bedside table. The bright numbers told me it was way too early for my liking. Who on earth was knocking on my door this early? I cleared my throat and said a low, sleepy, “Come in.” after remembering that I wasn't in my apartment anymore. The door opened slowly, and the middle aged woman from earlier this morning stepped inside. She had the same calm look on her face, like she knew I would still be in bed, looking like a mess. “Good morning, miss Lyra,” she said gently. “Good morning,” I replied, sitting up and pulling the duvet closer to myself. She smiled. “You should freshen up and come downstairs. Everyone is wai
LYRA Well, it’s not like I ever slept with him. He had plenty of other women to keep him satisfied, since he liked to say I was 'always too dry.' I decided to let them be and attend to other customers after a little while. His bimbo was already starting to get red in the face just by staring at m
DANTE I ran a bloodied hand through my dark hair as I watched her glare at me. She was the first person that had ever glared at me so openly. If I didn't find her amusing I would have plucked out her beautiful violet eyes and kept it as a trophy. "What's your name?" I asked, ignoring the sha
LYRA He finally sat down on the edge of the bed with a heavy sigh, his expression unreadable. For a moment, he just stared at me, like he was trying to figure out whether to trust me or shoot me. Up close, he looked even more dangerous. Even more handsome. His shirt clung to his chest, soaked wit
DANTE I had been watching her since I walked into a club with my cousins for a drink, she was attention grabbing. My cousins couldn't take their eyes off her, they had been talking about a little spitfire working in a club downtown after visiting it once. All the men around me couldn't stop g
