Rosalina Faye Carter's POV:

Everybody in the office is running from here to there like headless chickens. We are signing a deal with Augustus Group in Space Mining.

The Director of Mergers & Acquisition is indisposed for the time being. So, I am delegated the power to handle Mergers & Acquisition Department temporarily.

Along with my associates and lawyers I have gone through all the plausible loopholes and had found some which are devised in a way to benefit Augustus Corporation.

Not that the Sebastian & Adam Augustus can not buy the company in a blink of an eye and that too without even making a dent in their billions of dollar wealth.

But if they are signing a contract with us than it must be for the mutual benefit and I will make sure it is.

While entering my office I asked my secretary to inform me as soon as there is some message from Augustus Corporation.

I engrossed myself in work overseeing the files of Augustus Corporation's Acquisitions. Only Acquisitions because the three merged companies in the past are already overtaken by them. Now, all serving as subsidiary of the Augustus Corporation.

I don't want my company to have the same fate. Even though the acquisition by Augustus' automatically  increases your brand value, the reshuffle they do of employees and company policies will effect many lives depending on the earnings from this company.

I did not know at that time, that the the price of my goal will be paid by me by sacrificing my life.

My train of thoughts was disturbed by my secretary Nicole knocking the door.

"Yes, Nicole?" I questioned her while taking a sip from my delicious hazelnut frappe. 

"Mr. Adam Augustus is on line." She replied timidly.

I rolled my eyes at her and asked her to transfer the junior devil's call to me. As soon as I picked the device- a husky, deep baritone of a voice was heard from another side saying "Miss. Carter, I was informed that you have some issues regarding the contract sent."

"Sir, You were informed correctly. I have few issues regarding acquisition terms." I composed myself and replied politely.

"And what would they might be?" Adam asked.

"Sir, the loopholes devised in the contract are for the exclusive benefit of the Augustus Corporation. Let me remind you again that we are signing a merger not an acquisition." I tried to keep the anger from seeping into my voice but failed miserably.

"I see, Miss. Carter. What changes you suggest?" He asked.

And then for next hour I briefed him about all the changes which were for the mutual benefit of both the companies.

"I am not going to change the terms, Miss. Carter. You and I both know that Augustus Corporation has more than enough resources to divulge in Space Mining on its own and we will dominate the market in no time as the name Augustus is a guarantee for the success. So, keep your terms to yourself. Goodbye." He arrogantly informed me and after that hanged the call. 

I was dumbfounded for a minute and realised that what a fool he had made out of me. I hate him. Arrogant son of a bitch. I cursed him in my mind. 

I deep breathed for two minutes and composed myself. 

"Ma'am, President is on line." Nicole barged in my office without knocking. 

"Transfer him through." I murmured. 

"Greetings President." I started but was cut off by him. 

"Rosalina, Mr. Augustus will be here in Milan next week and he wants you to arrange everything for him and his girlfriend. You are free from all the office work for this week." He informed me. 

The nerve of that arrogant devil. He had reduced me from management to personal assitant with just a damn phone call. 

"President, I will take care of everything." I agreed while gritting my teeth.

The week that followed was my personal hell on the earth. That devil made sure to make my life as difficult as possible. He has made me book and cancel hotel for 10 times and after that he settled with Augustus Luxuries in Milan. 

If he owns a damn hotel in Milan what the hell was the need to go with all the long phone calls and payment procedures.

It is the day when junior devil will be setting his holy feet on the soil of Milan. How lucky Milan is? I sarcastically thought to myself. 

I am standing at Milan Airport waiting for his entrouge of private jets to land and escort him to Augustus Luxuries. 

I am not the only one. The President, Vice President, CEO and a heck lot of paprazzi are also here. 

General POV:

Two private jets- AUG 12-K and AUG 13-K landed on Malpensa Airport, Milan. 

The Jets landed are personal property of Adam Xavier Augustus, Hier to the Augustus Group. The Adam Augustus will be taking over as CEO of Augustus Corporation very soon which will automatically make him the 'Most Powerfulman in the World'. 

The gate of the jets opened and from it came out a hoard of bodyguards. They lined up from the jets to the parked cars and waited for Adam Augustus to come out. 

Adam came out a moment later dressed in charcoal black suit with white shirt sans tie - the man was the definition of charm, appeal and power.

Adam's security has already cleared the paprazzi and now it was only the members of Cearser Industries in the welcoming committee.

Adam's POV:

When for the first time I heard the voice of Rose, I felt an unsaid and unexplained attraction for her but when she negotiated the terms the attraction suppressed and irritation oozed. 

I had commanded her to be here and warned her of the consequences if she is not present. 

I glanced at the welcoming committee and found her standing there looking as beautiful as sin. She is wearing a red blouse and white pencilskirt along with sexy black heels. 

Her name justifies her beauty. She is indeed a Rose. My Rose. 

What the heck am I thinking? I scolded myself and diverted my attention from her. 

"Mr. Augustus, Welcome to Milan." Thomas Georgio greeted me. 

"Georgio." I nodded at him. 

"I am leaving for Augustus Luxuries and I want Miss. Carter to accompany me." I announced and left to occupy driver seat of my Bentley. 

I glanced towrad Rose and found her nostrils flaring in anger but when Georgio said something to her, she nodded and sat beside me.

Rosalina's POV:

I don't even understand what is going on in my life anymore. It is controlled in every aspect by this arrogant devil. If he dislikes me because I tried to negotiate with him should not he be staying away from me?

I questioned to myself before accepting the invitation to Devil's lair. 

"Welcome to Milan, Sir." I politely muttered as soon as I entered into his car. 

"Its Adam to you, Rose." He responded. 

"Sir..." As I started he glared at me hard. 

"Adam..." I murmured softly. 

He groaned but started driving without saying anything. 

Strange, Arrogant Devil. I thought to myself. 

"Where are we going, Adam?" I asked him when I noticed that we are not enroute to Augustus Luxuries. 

"Augustus' Villa. You did not think that Augustus does not have a home in Italy. Did you?" He questioned mockingly. 

As usual I tried to keep our relation professional and gulped my anger down. 

"Sir, I was not aware." I answered when he kept gazing at me. 

"I see." He muttered and continued driving. 

I understand why he is going to his home but what am I doing with him? 

My train of thought was broken by his phone. 

"Yes Baby. We are just five minutes away." He informed his girlfriend. 

"Rose & Me." She must have asked who we. 

"Employee of Ceaser Industry." They are talking about me. 

"See You." With that he hanged up. 

"Adam, what am I doing here?" I questioned him scared that if he gets angry he will leave me here only. 

"You are meeting my girlfriend, Jenifer." I nodded at him. 

At that time I did not know that I will be meeting the person who will be the very cause of the every pain I will feel later in my life.
