I felt his arm snake around my naked waist and he softly turned me to face him, one hand brushing my hair off my face as he cupped my chin tenderly. “Hey, you okay?”

I blinked, trying to gather myself together so he would not notice how scared and panicked I was. “Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. I was just lost in thoughts, you know.” I forced my lips into a smile, and he kept staring at me, obviously not buying my little excuse. He sighed, letting go of my chin to run a hand through his messy hair. “Leila. When will you stop trying to keep things from me? I always tell you I want to know even the tiniest thing on your mind. I love you, and you’re my wife now. I don’t want you to face anything alone. Just like you always face everything with me.”
