It is all my fault.

I approached the entire thing the wrong way and now, Neil and I were upset at each other. But why did he have to say those awful things? What the hell is wrong with him?

I flopped down into a comfy couch, sinking into its softness. I wanted to talk to Ashley. I should have asked for advice about this before even talking to Neil, but it’s too late now. The light from the screen of my phone illuminated my face in the dimness of the home theatre.

I pressed call and got up to switch on the lights before returning to my seat, curling my legs up against my body.

In no time, Ashley’s face filled up the screen.

“Hey, Ash.” My voice came out flat.

The screen shook and showed the floor a couple of times with muffled sounds of cursing and laughter before Ashley’s face appeared again. “Kid sis! What’s up?” A male voice said something in the background and Ashley grabbed something that looked like a pillow and hurled it at the man. “Shut up.”
