Chapter 42

"Harold! Harold," Sidney called out, slamming the door, but there was no response from Harold. "Fine! Suit yourself. I'm leaving, and I'm not coming back!" She yelled angrily, grabbed her purse, and left.

Harold slowly sat on the floor, resting his back against the door. He buried his face in his knees and continued sobbing. "Why is love so hard?" He muffled helplessly.

While in the cab, Laura sobbed silently, continuously wiping her tears, she was so pained and frustrated. Laura hoped for things to get better between her and Harold after visiting him, but instead, she ended everything with him.

As the sun began to set, Laura felt a growing sense of fear about how Daniel would react to her tardiness. Glancing at her watch, she saw that it was already 6:10 pm. She covered her face with her hands and muttered under her breath, "This is not good." She knew that Daniel would be upset if she didn't have a good excuse for why she hadn't been answering his calls.
