Callie

The silence in the truck should've been suffocating. Instead, it was filled with tension. As the engine stopped at the driveway, I didn’t dare move yet. I could still feel the heat of his voice in my ears.

I came because if I'd waited another minute, I would have done something I'd regret.

Grayson Carter did not just show up at that party.

He came for me and that shouldn’t have meant anything. Shouldn’t have made my heart raced.

But it did.

He gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles had gone white. I could feel the fury he was trying to contain beneath his rough exterior.

"I'm going inside," I said quietly, almost afraid to break the spell.

He nodded curtly while still not looking at me.

I stepped out into the warm dusk, the heat of the day still lingering on the pavement. My legs felt too exposed, like the tension in the car had somehow seeped into my skin.

I got halfway up the porch steps before I heard the truck door slam.

The sound made me pause.

"Callie."

CallieThe cool air of the early morning clung to my damp skin as I stepped carefully onto the patio.Last night's swim still burned through me. The way Grayson’s hands had claimed me, the heat of our bodies colliding in the water, the way the moonlight had glinted off his skin.I wrapped a towel around myself, shivering slightly. My pulse was still racing from him.I spotted him stretching near the pool edge, shirtless and impossibly perfect in the gray dawn. The sight stole my breath.“Morning,” I whispered, trying to sound casual, though my voice trembled slightly. He turned, eyes locking on me, dark and hungry even in the early light. “You’re insane,” he said, voice low, teasing. “Still thinking about last night?”I swallowed hard, feeling heat crawl up my neck. “Maybe a little.”He smirked, the kind that made my chest ache and my stomach flutter. “Good. Because I’ve b

  • Off Limits    A Dinner Invitation

Callie The aroma of grilled salmon drifted from the kitchen, teasing my senses in a way that had nothing to do with food. I leaned against the counter, swirling the wine in my glass, trying to look casual while my mind replayed last night’s swim in vivid, burning detail.Grayson appeared from the living room doorway, dressed in a crisp shirt and dark slacks. My pulse jumped, just from the way he moved, the way he filled the space without even trying.“Thought I’d find you here,” he said“You didn’t?” I tried to sound nonchalant, though my fingers curled around the glass, knuckles whitening. He stepped closer, tilting his head, eyes scanning me as if deciding whether I was good or merely teasing him. “I did, but I like the suspense.”My stomach flipped. I wanted to tease him back, to keep the tension, but my heart was still recovering from the reckless swim. The memory of water running over our bodies, the closeness, the smell of him, his hands — God, everything — made my chest ache

Callie There was nothing normal about the way my body still ached from earlier. Every nerve was alive, still buzzing from Grayson’s touch. I should’ve been upstairs, hiding until the ache faded, but instead, I lingered near the counter, bare feet while pouring a glass of water.Grayson appeared in the doorway, broad shoulders filling the frame, tie undone, shirt open at the throat. His gaze swept over me.“You’re still awake,” he said“Couldn’t sleep,” I whisperedHe curved his lips into a sinful knowing smirk which made my knees weak. He stepped closer, the faint scent of his cologne reaching me… wood, smoke, and man. My pulse jumped.“You shouldn’t be down here,” I tried to warn, but my voice wavered.“But here you are” His fingers brushed mine, lingering at my wrist. The kitchen suddenly felt too small. I told myself Mia was upstairs and safe, unaware but when his hand slid along my waist, the warning dissolved.“You’re dangerous,” I breathed.“And you love it,” he whispered, li

Callie The morning sunlight streamed through the windows, painting the living room in a warm glow. I hadn’t expected him to be there, lounging casually against the back of the sofa, sleeves rolled up, tie loosened and that dangerous half smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.“Morning,” I said, keeping my tone steady even though my pulse was still racing from the office encounter.“Morning,” he replied. His gaze lingered, softer than before.I perched on the sofa arm, pretending to study my coffee mug, though my eyes kept darting to him. There was a shift today — a quiet warmth, an openness I hadn’t seen before.“You seem different,” I teased lightly. “Not that I mind.”He chuckled, shaking his head, leaning back against the sofa. “Are you for real? Or maybe you’re finally noticing what has been there all along.”Mia was upstairs, probably singing in the shower again, completely unaware of the dangerous en

  • Off Limits    The Office Scene

Callie The office door clicked shut behind me, the lock sliding into place with a sound that was somehow both final and liberating. I leaned against it for a second, my pulse was anything but calm.Grayson was already at the desk, sleeves rolled up, tie loosened. He looked up when I stepped in, eyes darkening almost instantly at the sight of me. My robe had fallen slightly over one shoulder, leaving just enough bare skin to make him pause mid motion, coffee mug in hand.“Callie,” he said, low and rough. The single word sent a shiver straight down my spine.I crossed the room slowly, feeling every inch of his gaze tracing me, measuring me. My heels clicked softly against the hardwood, each step a small dare.“Don’t,” I warned, voice teasing, though the heat in my chest made me tremble. “Don’t start staring like that.”He didn’t answer with words. Instead, his fingers brushed mine as he handed me a stack of papers from the desk. The contact was light, fleeting but electric. My stom

Callie I kept one eye on the clock and another on him, leaning casually against the counter, coffee mug in hand, trying to act normal. He moved behind me to reach for sugar and our hands brushed. Just an accidental touch but enough to make my stomach tighten. My heart jumped in a way that had nothing to do with coffee.“You’re testing me,” he murmured, voice low, right at my ear.I smirked without turning around. “Oh… yes I am.”His fingers lingered near mine as he grabbed a spoon. Our hips grazed as he moved past me, deliberately teasing, sending little shocks through me with every step.“Careful,” he whispered, tone rough. “Mia could come out any second.”Mia had returned earlier that morning. The almost quiet house had been bustling with energy ever since and right now, she is upstairs taking a shower.I bit my lip, pretending to stir coffee, though I was burning from the thrill. “Then we’d just call it an accident.”I felt him lean a fraction closer, enough that I could smell the
