LOGINHello🖐, lovelies.
I’m deeply sorry for the lack of updates recently. I came down with a severe sore throat that affected my eardrums, and combined with a headache, the pain was honestly unbearable. I even found myself crying from how much it hurt, especially with the pressure and ringing in my ears. It truly felt awful. Thankfully, God has been good. The pain is slowly subsiding now, and I’m hoping to feel well enough to start writing again in a few days. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I appreciate you all more than you know. ❤ Love, Fireworks 🎆The doors seal the room from the suffocating storm raging outside. But in the corridor, a different kind of violence unfolds.Cole turns his head slowly, his lethal, terrifying gaze locking onto Lucinda, as his towering frame casts a long, menacing shadow over her. The air around him drops ten degrees, heavy and suffocating enough to make the very walls seem to close in.Lucinda, who is straightening her dress, looks up, and for a second, a flicker of panic crosses her features, but she quickly hides it behind a mask of entitlement, tilting her chin up to meet Cole's lethal glare as she crosses her arms.“Cole, you are making a grave mistake. If you listen to that—”“Do not speak her name,” Cole interrupts, his voice low. “You thought you could walk into my sanctuary, stripped, and plant yourself in my bed, and I would just accept it? You crossed a line tonight, Lucinda. A line you can never step back across.”“I was only trying to remind you of what we could have had!” Lucinda snaps,
“He took my innocence right here. I bet he hasn’t told you?” Lucinda lies, making sure her words hit where it hurts most. “I bet he never mentioned the countless nights he made me scream his name right on this mattress. How he held me. Claimed every inch of my body. And whispered promises into my ear, telling me I would be his Luna. He loved me!”Britney looks at Lucinda's face, feeling as though a sharp blade has sliced right through her heart. Her stomach drops as she tries to keep her face stoic, but her breath stutters in her throat.“You're lying,” Britney whispers, though the words sound weak even to her own ears.“Am I?” Lucinda sneers, taking pleasure in the crack in Britney's composure. “Ask him! Ask him how many times he pulled me onto this bed! He only wants you right now because you're a novelty. In his eyes, you're a weak, rejected girl who makes his alpha instincts feel big and strong. But once he gets tired of breaking your fragile little body, he will discard you just
Cole is consumed by fury, but the moment his gaze meets Britney’s, the violent aura he's exuding drops like a stone. He sees the flash of raw betrayal, the insecurity, and shock reflecting in her wide, glassy eyes.Fuck, it tears straight through his chest. He turns away and sets Britney down on a plush lounge chair right outside the threshold, turning his back on Lucinda as if she does not exist. He kneels right in front of Britney, taking her face between his palms.“Look at me, Britney. Look only at me,” Cole commands gently, his deep voice thick with emotion. He brushes his thumbs over her pale cheeks, searching her eyes. “She is nothing to me. I swear to you on my life, on my honor, she means absolutely nothing. You are my only mate. My Luna.”Britney’s breath hitches as the panic in her chest begins to settle under the truth burning in Cole's gaze. She swallows back her doubts and nods softly.“I believe you, Cole,” she whispers, even when she can't hide how her voice shakes sli
Cole’s eyebrows pull together in a frown.“Three days?”“Three days,” Dr. Evelyn repeats, refusing to back down. “No exceptions. Her human body needs time to repair itself. If you touch her roughly or attempt any physical intimacy before then, you risk causing severe internal damage and prolonging her recovery. Do I make myself clear, Alpha Cole?”Cole stares at the paper in his hand, his heart twisting with a mix of possessiveness and remorse. He looks down at Britney, seeing the exhaustion etched into her features, the pale shade of her skin, and the faint purple shadows beneath her eyes.“Three days,” Cole grunts through gritted teeth, giving a single, firm nod. “She rests.”Without waiting another moment, Cole bends down and slides one arm beneath Britney’s knees and the other around her upper back. He scoops her into his arms in one fluid movement, pulling her against his chest.Britney gasps softly, resting her cheek against his collarbone.“Cole... I can walk...”“You are not t
“It's alright; we have forever to make up for it,” Cole says, and Britney nods, smiling as she wipes her face, and answers.“Yes, we do.”Cole carries her through the double doors of the pack’s hospital, his long, powerful strides echoing off the polished marble floors. The nurses and junior doctors who had been watching the fallout between the alpha and his mother scattered instantly. They bow their heads in respect as their alpha storms past them. They all can feel his protective aura rolls off him in suffocating waves, an overwhelming wall of authority that warns everyone to keep their distance from the little woman in his arms.Britney shyly buries her pale face into the crook of Cole’s neck, her hand clutching the fabric of his shirt, the other around his neck. Her tiny body trembles against his, suddenly feeling drained from the intense confrontation.~~~Cole pushes open the door to a private ward, stepping inside and moving straight towards the examination bed, and carefully l
They break apart from the kiss, Caroline breathing heavily as she leans her chin against Darius' broad chest. Darius holds her close, placing a soft, lingering kiss on top of her head. Suddenly, Caroline feels the weight behind her vanish, and she asks Darius softly, “My wings... are they gone?” “Yes,” Darius murmurs, pressing another kiss onto her forehead. “The fever has broken for now. How do you feel?” “Exhausted,” Caroline admits, letting out a small, tired sigh as she rests her head over his beating heart. “But... the dark fog is gone.” She pauses, her fingers gently tracing the faint scars on his chest. “I'm sorry, Darius. I'm sorry for pushing you... for letting my anger make me doubt you.” Darius shakes his head, his jaw tightening slightly with fury toward the real perpetrator. “Don't ever apologize for protecting your heart,” Darius says firmly, looking down into her eyes. “Valerie set a trap, and I was reckless to lower my guard. But I promise you, Caroline, she will
I don't knock. I don't hear what Anna is saying. I push the door open with enough force to make the glass partition rattle. Adrian’s “dead” wife, what's her name again, Julianna, doesn’t even flinch. She just looks at me as a slow, condescending smirk spreads across her face. “Get out,” I say, my
Angela: ~~~ “Cassian, why are you looking at me like that? Did you do something to Adrian?” The words spill out before I can stop them; the air in the room has shifted, turning heavy. Cassian is staring at me with that dark, predatory gaze, which makes me afraid of him. “You want to go back to h
