Chapter 60 Wolf on Wolf

Jane’s POV

“If I don’t?” I snarled, tightening my grip on the woman’s neck. She gurgled desperately.

“I only gave you a choice because I know you’re Ed’s niece.” The man wrenched the whip from Colin’s hand and raised it threateningly. “Don’t piss me off!”

‘There are at least ten werewolves nearby,’ Ina told me, ‘I can feel it. If you don’t want to create a bigger scene, you’d better let go of this woman. We’ve already taken her money and her neck will hurt for at least a month. Don’t forget, Jane, that we can’t draw too much attention to ourselves. There are people hunting for your boys.’

Colin approached me and stood between the red-faced man and I. I knew he wanted to protect me.

Gritting my teeth, I threw the woman to the dusty ground. “You’d better not let me see her again!” In the same movement I grabbed Colin’s hand and started towing him back towards our medicine stall. “Come on,” I muttered, “let’s go.”

We packed up in a rush, barely sparing anyone a glance, and left quickly.
