14-Adam and Evie

Evie’s POV

I stare at the Lycan female for a long time. I’m waiting for her response. Finally, she speaks.

“I can see the goddess hasn’t given you more brass than brains,” she begins to gather her things. “Word of advice from one female to another, know your place, and clearly you don’t. You are not special, you are mediocre at best, and even my son deserves better.”

“Thank you, it’s good to see the bar set so low. That much easier to exceed expectations,” I tell her. Again, the males in the room suppress laughs.

“Well, clearly you are too stupid to take my advice. So, I’ll leave you to your misery.” She walks out the door.

“Would you gentlemen mind if I had a word with Evie alone?” Adam asks and my family leaves. “That was….”

“Don’t say hot, or a turn one,” I cut him off.

Adam raises his eyebrows, “I was going to say impressive. No one stands up to her. You flustered her, I’m impressed.”

He moves closer and puts his hands on my waist in a loving way. He leans in and kisses my neck.
