Chapter Forty

ELYSIA:

The rays of the sun shone brightly on my face, and the feelings of ecstasy did not seem to evade me, as every passing moment came with a new burst of pleasure and sweetness.

The sweet smell of the morning flowers filled my nose and forced me to inhale deeply. I didn't want the feelings to end anytime soon, I was ready to hold onto it for as long as possible, but my eyes fluttered open prematurely and I squinted my eyes to shed them from the sun which seeped in from the drawn back window curtains.

I rubbed my eyes as I looked around the room, and then my eyes moved to the wall clock.

It was already late into the morning and the sun was starting to rise.

I did not fail to pay attention to the sweet smell the flowers in the garden behind my window brought into my room, at the same time, I did not fail to notice the slightly discomforting headache I felt that morning.

I lifted my hand to run my index finger against my forehead, and let out a little wince before lifting myself off
