I LOOKED around my unit. Everything was the same. From the dark wall interior to the beige carpet on the floor. I saw my white Chanel bag seated on the couch. I remembered it was the bag I used that night. I bought it when I went to Singapore last month. I couldn't believe that was the last time I was able to use that bag.

After Kairos brought me back to the hospital, I found myself walking down the street until I reached my unit. I still couldn't process everything he had said to me. I refused to believe that my life had suddenly ended.

I’ve been living in this unit for five years now. It was gifted to me by Nick, one of my ex boyfriends. He was a vice president of an architectural firm. We only went out for a year but she already gave me a unit on our anniversary. Of all my past boyfriends, he was the most generous. In our one year relationship, I couldn't count all the gifts he had given me. Chanel, Prada, Hermes, name it. He had showered me with luxury items, and of course, I was not a hypocrite to refuse those gifts. Too bad, I got bored with him easily.

I was living alone in this two bedroom unit. I had no family. I had no friends. Everything Kairos has said about me is right. I was all alone in life. I didn't even know who my father was. I was just a product of a one night stand. I was five years old when my mother left me with her sister, my Auntie Mona. I thought Auntie Mona really cared for me. But I learned later on that she’s just an opportunist. She was just forced to take care of me because of the money she's been getting from my mother.

When my mother stopped sending money to Auntie Mona, she started treating me badly. I decided to leave her and fend for myself.

Five years ago, I learned that Auntie Mona died. And my mother? I don't know what happened to her. I have no fucking idea where she was right now. And honestly, I don't give a damn. She's never been a part of my life.

I left the living room and walked into the walk-in closet. I had a huge collection of bags, designer clothes and shoes in my wardrobe. Most of them I only used a few times.

I remembered my car. Now, it suddenly occurred to me that I won't be able to use it anymore. Damn. I just finished paying for it last month.

Suddenly, all the things I worked hard for had lost their value. This unit. All these designer collections in my closet. My savings. My job…

A pang of regret enveloped me. I couldn't believe I was gonna leave these all behind. I should've been more careful with my life. I shouldn't have saved that little girl.

But at least, that girl will save you from hell.

I sighed. If only I knew I would die this early, I should've enjoyed my life to the fullest. I couldn't accept this was the end for me.

I looked at the full-length mirror in front of me. I can see my reflection from there. I still looked physically the same the night of my accident, only that I was paler now. It was like blood had drained not just from my face, but my whole being. I looked like a pretty ghost that everyone sees in the movies.

I tried to touch the mirror in front of me but I failed. Just like what I experienced when I tried to touch my own body, my hand just passed through the mirror. So this is what it feels like to be fucking invisible.

"You must remember that the soul is the most powerful part of a man. The human body is only a vessel of the soul."

I remember what Kairos has said to me. According to him, even if I was not with my own body, it's possible for me to be able to touch things. But it would require great concentration.

Ugh. So I guess being invisible has it's pros and cons. I tried to concentrate with the mirror in front of me. And then slowly, I started to feel the mirror in my hand.

"Woah," I couldn't help but exclaim in amazement. My death angel was right. I was still capable of touching things.

Speaking of Kairos, I wondered where he went. He just suddenly left me last night without even telling me what my mission would be.

"The creator is a forgivable God. He wants to give you a chance. So he decided to give you a mission."

That's what he told me before he suddenly left last night. Because one innocent life was saved, the Creator gave my soul a chance to enter heaven. All I had to do was to fulfill the mission that the Creator would assign to me.

Whatever that fucking mission is, I'd fucking do it.

I couldn't allow myself to rot in that place! I've already experienced hell here on Earth. I won't let myself suffer anymore. I need to enter heaven, by hook or fucking crook.

Once again, I surveyed my unit. I didn't know how long I stayed there before I went out. It was a relief I was all alone in the elevator. I don't want to see anyone right now. But the elevator opened on the 20th floor. I was greeted by a familiar old woman.

It was her. The old ragged woman I shared a ride in the elevator on the night of my accident. She entered the lift and punched the button to the second floor.

I was silently watching her when suddenly, she looked in my direction. Her eyes lingered at me, as if she could see me.

That's impossible, I told myself. You're a soul, Cresia.

Her eyes continued to stay at me. “I warned you that night…"

Did I hear it right? S-she spoke to me. Wait, how was this possible?

I wanted to ask her but even before I could speak, the elevator opened. Two women entered the lift and stood beside the old lady. "Good evening, Lola." I heard one of the women talk to the old lady.

I continued to stare at the old woman in front of me. Was she also a soul? No. She couldn't be. I saw how the two women beside me smiled at her.

The lift stopped. The two women both stepped out of the elevator, but then a new group of people entered. The elevator reached the second floor and I failed to get the chance to ask the old woman.

I watched her as she stepped out of the lift, my gaze followed her until the elevator closed on me.

How in the fucking world that old lady can see me? If she was not a soul like me, then what is she?

Stop it, Cresia. Fuck! Stop thinking about that old hag.

I tried to get that old lady away from my thoughts as I went out of the building. I was greeted with people walking down the streets. I watched as people walked past me. Everyone was busy with their own lives. Here I was. I didn't even know where to go next. All my plans suddenly vanished in the air.

Maybe I should just visit my workplace. The building where I work is just a few blocks away from my condo, anyway.

I was working as a sales manager in an insurance company. I started as a sales agent, before I was promoted as a manager just after two years. That's how good I was as an employee. I was one of the top performers of the company.

I went inside the building where my office was located. I stopped when I noticed three of my officemates entered the elevator. It was Riana and her two minions.

I looked at them with contempt. They were all pathetic bitches. Especially that bitch Rianna. I really hate her. I knew she was the source of the rumor that once circulated in the office: that I was having an affair with one of the bosses.

Of course that's not true. That Rianna was just an insecure bitch. She couldn't accept that I was way better than her.

I smirked when I noticed that she was wearing a black body con dress similar to what I wore last week, my favorite shade of lipstick and even my favorite perfume. I stared at her lips. I smirked. “You’re really an insecure bitch,” I told her. Ugh. Too bad this bitch can’t hear me.

“Hey, Rihanna, did you hear what happened to Cresia?"

Rianna stopped scrolling from her phone and looked at Tasha. “What happened to her?”

“You didn't know? She's in the ICU right now," Tasha answered her. "She had an accident last Friday night."

“Well, she deserves that,” I saw how Rianna smirked. “That's her karma for stealing TJ from me.”

I remembered TJ. He was Rihanna's ex boyfriend. They broke up when I stole TJ away from her. I was so pissed at her for stealing the company project that was for me. In return, I seduced her beloved boyfriend that time. I smirked as I remembered her face when she saw me and TJ kissing at the parking lot of our office last year.

But TJ and I only lasted for a month. He was boring, and he's not even my type to be honest. I just really wanted to pissed off Rianna.

“Don't you think that too mean of you, Rihanna! I know you don't like her, but what happened to her was just too much."

“I just don't like her, Tasha. I hate her!" Rianna smirked. "What happened to her is just her karma! It's the universe's way of punishing her."

I gasped. This is my karma? My punishment? What about you, Rianna? I stared at her long straight hair. I wanted to pull them out from her scalp and drag her out of this elevator. I could think of a lot of horrible things I want to do with this bitch.

What if… I press all the buttons here just to scare them? I smirked at my own idea.

"Don't ever think of doing that."

Kairos suddenly appeared before me. He leaned on the elevator wall as he continued to talk to me. “I forgot to tell you, if you really want to enter heaven, you should behave.”

Behave? What am I!? A child?

I gave him a sharp look before I turned to Rianna and her bitches. The three stepped out of the elevator as the lift opened.

"Tsk, just be thankful I don't want to end up in hell.” I muttered as I followed them to our office. There was nothing new here.

Our office occupies the 20th to 25th floor of this building. My department was on the 23rd. I walked straight to my cubicle. I noticed the bouquet of pink roses on top of my desk. I read the note attached to it.

Get well soon, Cresia. —From Management.

Tsk. I distastefully looked at the flowers in my sight. Pink roses? Really? I was one of the top employees of the company and all they could give me was a bouquet of pink roses?

"What are you doing here, human?"

I didn't notice Kairos was behind me.

"What?" I snapped at him. "Am I not allowed to go where I work? How about you? Where did you go?" I should be the one questioning him.

“I transported a couple of souls to hell,” he casually answered like it was an ordinary thing for him.

"Everyone."

I turned to where the voice came from. Our manager was standing in front of his office. "I know all of you already learned what happened to Cresia. She was confined at St. Luke's. Anyone, who wants to visit her? Kindly raise your hand so we can arrange something."

I looked around. No one raised their hand. Well, what do I expect? I have no friends in the office. No, scratch that. I don't have any friends in life.

"Come on, we're going somewhere."

I looked at my death angel. “Where are you going to bring me?” I asked him.

He clicked his fingers. Suddenly, we were gone from my office. I looked around. We were in a residential area.

I stared at the two storey house in front of me. It was a semi-modern house with a small garden and a patio. It looked quiet from the outside.

I looked at Kairos. “Really, Kairos? What's your talent aside from teleportation?"

He grinned at me. “You wouldn’t want to know.”

My gaze turned back to the house in front of us. “What are we doing here? Whose house is this?”

“This is where your mission is.”

I look at his face. "You remembered me, right?"He nodded. "Of course," he said. I felt his hand on mine. "You just made me worried.""What happened?" I asked him, confused. I looked at his face. His eyes were red from crying. Why did he cry?"You passed out in the middle of the street," he answered. "CRESIA?"I was walking on the school grounds of St. Claire when I heard someone call my name. I looked around and then I saw Caren. She was standing a few meters away from me. I smiled at her and her eyes widened as she walked to me."Hi, Caren," I greeted her."It's really you," she said, her face still amazed. "What are you doing here?""I'm bringing lunch to my boyfriend." I replied with a smile. "He works here."I wondered if she'd be shocked if he learned that Lenos was the boyfriend I was talking about."How about you?" I asked her."This is where I study," she answered.

"HERE is a glass of margarita."I said as I placed a glass of cocktail drink in front of Lenos."Wow," he said, looking at the alcohol in front of him and then to me. "You're good at this, baby."I chuckled. "Come on, bottom's up."He grabbed the glass and drank it in one gulp.We were in Polaris tonight. It was still an hour before the opening so I decided to show Lenos how to mix drinks."When did you learn how to mix alcohol?" he asked after he placed the empty glass on the counter."Hmm, I was fifteen, I think."His lips parted and I bit my lips to stop myself fr

"GOOD morning, Dad." I greeted my Dad when I saw him on the breakfast table. He was already having breakfast."Good morning, hija," my father looked at me. "What time did you go home last night?"I pulled up a chair, sat on it and poured orange juice on my glass. "Almost two, I think." I glanced at the breakfast in front of me. I put some pancakes on my plate."I noticed your car isn't in the garage."I pursed my lips. "Lenos took me home last night."His eyebrows rose. "Are you two together already?"I casually nodded while sipping on my orange juice. "Uhuh…""Ma'am Cresia."One of our helpers entered the kitchen with a bouquet of flowers in her hand. She handed it to me. "There's delivery for you."I immediately smiled when I saw it was black roses. I opened the card and saw Lenos' handwritten note for me.Good morning. I'll pick you up before dinner tonight.

"WHAT are you doing here, sis?" Alfred asked me when he saw me standing outside of my door. I smiled. "I'm just trying to sink into myself that one of my dreams finally came true." Alfred smiled at me. "You did it, Cresia." He said, then gently tapped my head. "Thank you," I sincerely said, tearing up. "This wouldn't be possible without you and Dad's help." I told him. Today was the opening night of Polaris. Alfred and my father came with me earlier this morning at the ribbon cutting. They even surprised me with a cake. And now, Alfred was here with some of his friends. Dad just went home earlier because he needed to rest early. "Nah. It was your idea and effort and money. We just supported you on the sideline," Alfred said. "We're proud of you." I chuckled to blink away my tears. "Don't make me cry. Just go back inside with your friends." I jokingly pushed him away. "Melissa was looking for you." I said, talkin

"WELCOME to my room, Aunt Cresia," Leah said as we entered her room. My eyes roamed around the room. She had a very princessy room. It suited her. I smiled when I noticed a portrait painting of her displayed on the wall. "How old are you in this portrait?" I looked at her. She smiled at me. "Oh, I was five there." Leah said as she sat on the edge of her bed. She hugged a unicorn stuffed toy we got on when we went to the theme park. "Thank you for the dinner, Aunt Cresia," she said, yawning. "I feel so sleepy already." She said in a small voice while scrunching her eyes. It was already eight in the evening. After pushing Lenos back to his room earlier this afternoon, Leah and I played board games in the garden. Then I cooked fried chicken for dinner. When I checked Lenos in his room, I still found him sleeping. It was a good thing he was having a long rest. I sat beside Leah. "You should sleep now." I gentl
