LOGINThe ride to the club was slow but not quiet.
Apparently, Anna told the driver to slow down.
“I can afford to do anything else, but not get involved in an accident” she said.
I laughed,”you love your life huh”.
“Yes I do”.
“You're going to enjoy partying tonight”.she continued.
“You're sure?”
“Girl trust me”.
We got to the club minutes later.
It wasn't just a normal club, it's one meant for sons and daughters of the wealthy.
Pass check, tight security.
“The life of the party is here”someone shouted as Anna stepped in.
Everyone cheered her.
I guess this was her thing.
Music came after music.
The ones people loved and the one they didn't.
“I need to get us a drink, what do you want, champagne, tequila which one”.
“Um”.
“We'll do tequila” she replied before I could even say anything.
And then one of my favorite music came on.
I've always been a music girly,as long as it has good beats,I don't mind the lyrics.
We sang along off key.
And then I felt a gaze on me,I turned and there he was.
Anthony.
I tapped Anna,”your brother clubs?
“Nah,not everyday, just when he wants to cool off or gets a big contract “she replied.
And then I pointed his direction,”which one is it today”.
“I think he's here for you, remember what he said in the house “.
“I didn't know he meant it “.
“Well he's here, relax he's not going to do anything to you “.
I decided not to look his direction anymore but I could still feel his eyes on me.
I didn't know if it was the alcohol but somehow I was moved to dance.
I was shaking my waist to the core and before I knew what was happening ,a guy's hand slid up to my waist.
“Back off”.
“Girl relax”.
“I said back off”
I took his hands off my waist and he kept persisting.
Next,a flying punch met his face.
“when a woman says no, you back off motherfucker” Anthony said to him.
“Thank you”.
He looked at me.
“Where's Anna”.
I was tipsy already, same with Anna,I didn't even know where she danced to.
“I don't know “.
He was already scanning the whole place looking for her.
“Time to go home”.
“What, we’re just getting started”.
“Emma i said it's time to go home”.
We went to the car and he made sure I entered.
Then he came back to look for Anna.
He returned with her few minutes later.
“You're such a joy kill”Anna muttered as she entered the car.
He drove us home immediately.
We got to the house and I was half asleep, half awake.
Anna was saying things that didn't make sense, she took so much alcohol.
I couldn't walk myself to the house.
Anthony looked at me and sighed.
He carried me in his arms so close to his chest that I could hear his heartbeat .
Anna opened the door, at least, amdist her drunkiness, she was able to do that.
Anthony carried me into my room .
That was all I could remember.
Except for the fact I remember there's a lady downstairs who gave Anth
ony a stern look immediately we entered the house.
And I don't know who she is.
What a night.
Days passed, and we tried to keep our relationship professional. But there were still awkward moments because, no matter how much we tried, we'd already crossed a line. That morning, I woke up to Anthony knocking on my door.I opened it.“My PA is taking two days of sick leave. I'll need you to follow me to the office today and tomorrow,” he said, his arms crossed.“That’s not in my job description,” I blurted out immediately.“I’ll add something to your salary at the end of the month,” he replied, looking me straight in the eyes.I didn't respond.I mean, that's more money, right? He took my silence as a yes.“Get ready. We'll be leaving in thirty.”He turned, and I shut the door.Oh God. I had just woken up, and now I was supposed to get ready in thirty minutes.I got ready anyway, taking an extra ten minutes._We drove to the office in his car.The building was big. Really big.The Williams Empire dominated the business world—real estate, high-end restaurants and hotels, technolog
Later that night, I came downstairs to the kitchen to get some water.I hadn't seen Anthony since earlier that day, and I hoped it would continue that way.I walked quietly into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. Then I caught the scent of his cologne.I froze.I turned around, and there he was, standing in the doorway.Grey joggers. White singlet.I immediately looked away and tried to leave the kitchen, but he gently caught my wrist and pulled me back.He placed both hands on the counter, leaving me standing between them."You've been avoiding me," he said, stepping closer.I swallowed."I haven't."He looked directly into my eyes, but I couldn't hold his gaze."You have. Since the kiss."I didn't respond. He took another step, closing the little space between us.For a moment, neither of us said anything. Then he looked at me."God, Emma. You're so beautiful."My heart started racing.I opened my mouth, but no words came out.Gosh, this man had too much of a
Lisa told me over the phone that they were in the hospital.I left and rushed to the hospital immediately.Thankfully, it was a minor accident.Jayden had slipped and fallen in the bathroom, but he was okay now. The doctor said he could go home in the morning.Lisa agreed to stay with him while I went home.As soon as I reached the door, the next thing that came to my mind was the party. Then the elevator. The kiss.I went inside the house, and just as I had hoped, Anthony was already in his room.I quietly went to my room, showered, and got ready to sleep. But each time I tried to shut my eyes, the scene of that kiss came back to me.I knew I had felt something when he kissed me, but whatever it was, I couldn't let it grow stronger.I buried my face in the pillow, wishing it could smother the memory._I woke up earlier than usual the next morning. The plan was to make breakfast, set the table, then retire to my room before he came down. After what happened last night, all I wanted t
The next day, Anna sent me an address to a restaurant where I was supposed to meet her during the day.She was already there before me.“Hey, girl,” I said as I sat down.“You're right on time,” she replied.“Shouldn't you be planning your party? Why did you ask me to come here?” I asked.“Girl, relax. I've got someone doing that. I wanted you to come here so we can make our choice of outfits.”I raised my eyebrows. “You don't have your outfit ready?”“No.”“You know, Anna, you could host a simple party. Just drinks, you know, nothing loud.”“There's no fun in that.”“Girl, you are always looking for a reason to throw a party. Well, this one is worth it. I'm proud of you.”I ordered a drink while we scrolled through fashion pages.“But Anna, how are we going to get these dresses delivered before evening?”“Don't worry. The more the cash, the faster the delivery.”Anna and I never had the same opinion about any dress we chose. She kept complaining.“Nah, this one is too lengthy.”“Look
Essa lightened up the moment she saw Anthony.Apparently, she had come to surprise him with test results showing she was pregnant.I couldn't stop laughing in my room. She was now the one surprised to see her cover had been blown.Anthony didn't raise his voice. He quietly asked her to leave his house.Essa didn't argue. After much apology and explanation that fell on deaf ears, she eventually left.I was really hoping she'd claim Anthony was wrong and prove her faithfulness. But that's not how betrayal works. It feels like you're dreaming at first, but eventually, you'll accept it as reality.Anthony left the house after their conversation, leaving just me alone in the house.Minutes turned into hours, and night came.Still, Anthony wasn't home.I had prepared dinner and was waiting for him to get back. I sat on the couch in the living room, watching a movie while waiting for him. From the little while I've lived here, I could tell Anthony didn't keep late nights.I could have gone t
I got a reminder notification on my phone.Today, I had to go and see my son and spend some time with him.I handled a few things around the house before heading out.“Hey, Jayden,” I said with a smile. He turned and saw me, then immediately stood up from the ground where he had been playing with his toys.“Mummy!” he shouted as he ran into my arms.I hugged him so tight. He was looking good and healthy.“Aunty Lisa has been taking good care of you, huh?”He nodded.“Where's Aunty Lisa, by the way?”He pointed towards the kitchen.I carried him in my arms as we headed towards the kitchen. I had missed him so much.“Hey, Lisa.”“You're here,” Lisa replied.“Yeah. I can see how good my boy is looking. Thank you so much for looking after him.”“You're welcome. Jayden is a good boy, and he doesn't give me any trouble.”I gave her some money for his expenses since I had been paid at the beginning of the month. Then I took Jayden to the children's park.I watched him have fun. I just wanted
