Amber had just finished preparing dinner and was about to serve the kids who were still in their room when the sound of the doorbell came through.

Her eyes narrowed, wondering who could possibly be at the door by this time of the night. She glanced at the clock. It was already past ten.

Just then, the kids came running down the stairs and were about to take their seats at the dining table when the doorbell rang again, louder this time.

Jason's head snapped toward the door immediately.

"Daddy!"

"Daddy is here!" He jumped off the chair and bolted toward the door before anyone could stop him.

"You're going to fall."

"Daddy is here. I have to get the door for him," he insisted, scrambling with the lock.

"That might not be your daddy. It could be Aunt Jessie coming over to spend the night."
