View MoreOn the bustling night streets of Duskdale, Amber Cross made her way home from the hospital, a bright smile stretching across her face as she held a brown envelope tightly against her chest.
The doctor’s words echoed joyfully in her mind, “Congratulations, Mrs. Cross. You’re two weeks pregnant!”
Amber let out a soft squeal of happiness, her fingers trembling with excitement as she gently rubbed her stomach.
As Luna of the Silver Moon Pack, humiliation had always been part of the package. Married to Alpha Damon—heir to a billion dollar empire and leader of one of the most powerful packs in the region. Yet, in the eyes of the pack members, she was still just a lowly omega who married up.
And Damon?
He had never truly loved her.
The only reason he agreed to the marriage was the mate bond. There was no affection. No warmth. Just duty.
But now, with this pregnancy coming her way, Amber couldn't help but hope it might change everything.
Her heart pounded as she reached the pack house.
With a soft push, she opened the front door and stepped inside, only to be greeted by the unmistakable sound of moans coming from upstairs.
A knot tightened in her chest, her legs barely holding her up.
She clutched the envelope closer, her fingers trembling.
Damon? Having sex?
No, that couldn’t be right.
But deep down, she already knew.
The sounds echoing through the house left little room for doubt.
Still, like a fool grasping at denial, she moved up the stairs, each step heavier than the last, each breath harder to take.
Please let me be wrong. Please let this be some awful misunderstanding. She prayed silently.
But the closer she got, the louder the moans became.
Raw.
Unmistakable.
Her heart pounded like thunder in her chest.
She reached the bedroom door.
And then she heard it, clear as day;
Flesh slapping against flesh.
Breathless grunts.
"Ahh.... Faster!" A female voice screamed.
"Fuck me Damon!" Still the female voice
"I want it rough!"
Unable to take it any longer, Amber pushed the door open, her hands flying to her mouth in shock at the sight before her.
On the bed was her husband, Alpha Damon, naked and ramming hard into the blonde haired girl moaning loudly beneath him.
His hands gripped her tender boobs tightly, oblivious to the fact that Amber was right there at the door, watching.
"Oh I love it so much Bel!" Damon groaned, thrusting harder.
Amber felt the air drained from her lungs. Each thrust a painful stab to her heart.
"Da... Damon?" She managed to call, the tears escaping her eyes.
"Amber... "
Damon hissed as his eyes fell on her.
With a grunt, Damon roughly pulled out from the girl and pushed her naked butt from him before slipping into his pants.
"Why did you stop Damon? I said I want it rough!" The girl who didn't know why Damon abruptly stopped when she was about to climax asked, standing up from the bed.
Amber's eyes went wide as they fell on her.
Bella Blaine.
Damon’s ex girlfriend.
She had left the pack the moment she found out Amber was his fated mate.
So what was she doing here now?
Amber’s voice trembled as pain and betrayal surged through her chest.
“How could you do this to me?” she whispered, her heart cracking with every word.
Was this really the man she had fallen in love with? The same man she had sacrificed everything for?
Damon’s face remained indifferent, cold.
“Oh, spare me the pity act, Amber. You’ve always known I never loved you.” He scoffed. “Three years and not even a kiss right? That didn’t tell you anything?”
Bella let out a laugh, sharp and cruel.
She leaned forward with a wicked grin.
“You’re just a leech, Amber. Did you really think Damon would ever be satisfied with a pathetic omega like you?”
She spat the words bitterly as she stood, slipping on an oversized shirt... Damon’s shirt. It was obvious from the way it hung on her.
Amber couldn’t speak. Her throat was tight. Her hands trembled as she clutched the envelope closer to her chest.
“You see, Amber…” Damon began, his tone dripping with ice as he walked over to Bella, wrapping his arms possessively around her waist.
“Bella has always been the one for me. The only reason I stayed in the marriage was because I needed you to secure my position with the Alpha Council. Now that I’ve got what I need, there’s no use for you anymore.”
His words were like knives.
Fresh tears welled in Amber's eyes.
She clutched the envelope tighter.
She had always known he didn't love her, but still, they were married.
They were fated, bound by the moon goddess herself.
Swallowing her pride, she stepped forward and held out the envelope, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Take a look at this… I’m—”
“The marriage ends here,” Damon cut in coldly.
Amber blink back in shock
“W... what?”
His voice rose, sharp and final.
“Are you deaf? I said the marriage is over.” Then without hesitation, he growled, “From this moment on, I, Damon Cross, reject you, Amber Smith, as my mate.”
The pain hit her like a crashing wave.
Amber clutched her chest as the bond tore violently within her. Her legs buckled, and she collapsed to the floor, gasping for air.
The rejection hurt a thousand times more than his betrayal ever could.
She reached for his hand, praying for even the smallest sign of compassion.
But Damon looked down at her with disdain, then turned and walked away without a word.
Bella followed, but paused when she noticed the envelope lying on the floor.
She picked it up and tore it open before Amber could stop her.
Her face twisted with shock as she scanned the contents.
“You’re... pregnant?” she asked, stunned.
Amber didn’t respond. She couldn’t. Not with how weak she'd gotten.
Bella’s expression quickly shifted from disbelief to rage.
“How dare you try to sabotage our relationship with this fake paper?” she hissed, ripping the document into pieces and letting them fall like confetti around Amber’s broken form.
She leaned down, her eyes filled with scorn.
“Don’t you dare say a word of this to Damon. If you do, I swear you’ll regret it.”
Then she straightened,
tossed her hair, and walked out, slamming the door behind her.
Amber remained on the floor, silent, shattered.
Her heart torn.
Her world... destroyed.
Twenty minutes passed before Amber finally reached for her phone and dialed Jessie's number.Jessie answered on the second ring, "Hello?"Amber didn't even wait for the small talk, "I told you Damon's nothing but a cheat and a liar. I told you he wasn't to be trusted. I can't believe I let you talk me into doing this." she cried."Whoa, whoa. Calm down, babe." Jessie said quickly, "Tell me what happened"Amber took a shaky breath, trying to steady herself. "I called him like you asked me to. I agreed to let him meet the kids and even arranged a time. Then that bitch walked into my office! She disguised herself as my cousin so no one would suspect anything and then she told me she was pregnant. Pregnant, Jess! And Damon's responsible.”"Oh my God…" Jessie's voice softened. "I'm so sorry, Bree. That must've been terrible.""I told you he couldn't be trusted," Amber said between sobs. "Damon's a liar. That's all he's ever been. He manipulates people, makes them let their guard down, and
Amber stood in the middle of her office, her chest still heaving from speaking to Damon. His number was still glowing on her phone screen, unsaved. She couldn't bring herself to save it. Not yet.Not when the fear still lingered. She stared at the screen for a few seconds before finally setting the phone down on her desk. After two days of relentless pleading, Jessie had finally convinced her to let Damon see the kids. She had been reluctant at first, but she'd eventually caved after realizing the kids were still holding a grudge on her. She decided to call Damon, set up a meeting, and let him know his boundaries. She glanced at her watch. She still had an hour left before noon. With a deep breath, she sat down on her office desk and opened her laptop, skimming through the morning headlines. It was supposed to be an ordinary morning, until a knock sounded on her door."Come in," she said. The door opened, revealing her secretary, Selene."Sorry for the intrusion, Ma'am," Selene said
TWO DAYS LATERDamon smiled as he glanced at the documents in his handsThere were divorce papers, delivered personally by his lawyer, Adrian Pierce. Now, all that was left was to show them to Bella and get her to sign. He inhaled deeply, feeling the heat rising in his chest. Ever since she became Luna, She had been nothing but a thorn at his side. A woman who had done nothing but destroy his marriage. After tonight, she'd be gone from his life. Gone from his home. For good.He had just pulled off his tie when his phone buzzed. He pulled it out of his pocket, expecting to see his assistant's name, Gabriel, flashing on his screen, but it wasn't.An unknown number. Damon hesitated before swiping to answer. "Hello?""Hi," the soft, calm voice on the other end froze him in place.Damon's knees almost gave out."Oh my god... Bree! Hi. How are you feeling? Are the kids okay? Is Jason alright? And Jessie... are they...""They're fine," she cut in sharply. He heard her sigh before she conti
Amber was almost done clearing the table when a knock sounded at the door. She wiped her hands on a napkin and hurried to answer it.Jessie stood there, holding a bag of fried chicken and chips."Hey," she greeted softly."Thank God you’re here. I was just about to call you," Amber breathed out in relief. Ever since Jason's sudden outburst that morning, the little boy had refused to speak to her. He'd locked himself in his room, crying non-stop.Amber didn't know what else to do, so she'd called Jessie, who came running the moment she heard."Where are they?" Jessie asked, stepping inside and shutting the door behind her."In Jason’s room," Amber sighed. "He won't eat or talk to me. He's been crying all day, and because of that, Jessie won't stop crying either."Jessie glanced at the untouched plates on the table and shook her head. "I knew this was going to happen. I told you the kids were going to miss their father, but you wouldn't listen."Amber’s eyes flashed with anger. "So now
Damon just stared at the doctor like he'd just spoken in another language. What did he mean pregnant?"Mr Cross?" the doctor called his name, gently. "Did you hear me?"His words seemed to snap Damon back to reality. His eyes flicked to the doctor, cold and hard."What do you mean she's pregnant?" He barked, his voice cold as ice.The doctor shifted uneasily under his glare, adjusting his glasses. This wasn't the reaction he'd expected. He'd assumed the man would be happy to hear such news, but clearly, that wasn't the case.He swallowed hard, his forehead slick with sweat before continuing. "Yes, Mr Cross. It's still early, but there are clear signs of pregnancy. Your wife appears to be two weeks along.""You mean my daughter is pregnant?" Moore's voice cut in, laced with excitement. The joy in his tone didn't go unnoticed. The Doctor offered a small smile and nodded."Yes.""Can we see her now?""Yes. But she still needs rest, so only one person can go in at a time."Moore nodded an
Damon dragged a hand through his curls as he paced down the waiting hall. His clothes were stained with blood, his face slick with sweat. Thirty minutes had passed since he arrived at Silvercrest General Hospital, yet there was still no sign of the Doctor. The door burst open and Moore came striding in, panic flashing across his face.He spotted Damon standing near the door and stormed towards him, rage boiling in his chest. "Where the hell is my daughter?" He barked, his voice sharp and commanding.Damon's jaw tightened but he didn't speak. He just kept pacing down the hall like a man desperate to be anywhere but here.Moore's voice rose, thick with anger. "I swear to God, Damon, if anything happens to my daughter... you're going to regret it."Damon stopped and turned towards him, his eyes cold as ice. "None of these would have happen if your crazy daughter hadn't cut herself.""Don't you dare put the blame on my daughter," Moore snapped. "This is all your fault. None of these would
