Caspian couldn’t wait a second longer. He crushed his lips against Dorian’s with a hunger that didn’t feel human. It was frantic, dangerous and possessive, like he needed him to breathe.

Dorian stiffened, instinctively pulling back—but Caspian’s grip slid up his neck, not to hurt, but to claim. His fingers spread along his jaw, guiding him back in, nudging their mouths together with a feverish insistence.

His touch wasn’t begging. It was demanding.

Dorian’s eyes shot open, wide with shock as Caspian’s mouth devoured his. But that shock melted into something darker and warmer.

The heat in his bloodstream burned. The alcohol? Yes! Or maybe it was Caspian: The sweetness of his lips. The intoxicating musk of his cologne. The raw dominance pulsing through his body like a warning.

Dorian's mouth finally parted, giving in. Caspian’s tongue slid in, deep, claiming space like it belonged to him. He moaned into the kiss, his hips twitching forward. He was been kissed by a starved man—like Dor

  • Once His Nightmare, Now His Employee    42 ~ Escaping The Alliance II

CASPIAN'S POV Dad covered Mom’s shoulders with his hands, his gaze locking with hers for a long, silent beat that made the air between them heavy. I sat there like a muted spectator, my heart thudding in the silence. Finally, Dad turned to me, stepping away from her. “Caspian,” he said, his voice softer now, “we just hope… you can forgive us.”“Forgive you?” My brows drew together. “For what? Dad, you’re making me nervous for no reason.”“The longer we keep this secret, the more things could spiral out of control,” he replied.Mom’s eyes darted to me, then away. “Years ago, we took assistance from the Keene family. Now… it’s time to pay them back.”I blinked at her. “The Keene family? How?” I asked, shock boldly written on my face. “We barely had a roof over our heads back then. We were scraping for our next meal. Begging, even. How could you possibly know them?” The questions came like bullets, fast and sharp.Dad’s eyes darkened. “You remember the day your younger sister died?”T

  • Once His Nightmare, Now His Employee    41 ~ Escaping The Alliance

CASPIAN'S POV I sank into the chair shortly after arriving at my parents’ home.Frankly speaking, it’s far too early for this. Barely past 7 A.M., and here I am—ready, or maybe not—to face their inevitable barrage of questions. My mother, the woman I know, has never been one to give much of a listening ear. She’s strict. And she's strict in a way that’s hard to put into words. Yet, if you take the time to look past her steel-plated discipline, you’ll find the softest heart beating beneath.“What would you like to drink?” Eleanor’s voice broke my thoughts. She stood there, petite and graceful, with a practiced smile that was warm but never overbearing. And that smile… it carried a certain quiet comfort that had soothed me for years. But it still couldn’t compare to what I felt earlier this morning when I had fallen asleep with my head resting on Dorian’s chest. The thought tightened my chest. My fingers curled around the edge of the sofa, gripping as if I could hold onto that memory a

  • Once His Nightmare, Now His Employee    40 ~ The Devil's Appearance

"I thought I had everything under control. And at the moment when I almost did what I had craved for for years, it went spiraling right while I was present in that same restaurant, if not in the same room.” The early morning sun casted through the vast, cold expanse of the Keene's mansion’s living room while Victoria’s fingers tangled through her hair as a raw scream tore from her throat, echoing.“That bastard!”Her voice cracked with fury. She stomped her heel against the marble floor, the sharp sound ricocheting off the walls.“I can’t believe this. I still can’t believe this. What the hell happened all of a sudden there?” She demanded, her teeth clenching so hard it hurt. Her mother, Eloise, rushed toward her, her arms circling her waist in an attempt to calm her. But Victoria refused to move, her body rigid, vibrating with rage.“Be calm, my darling,” Eloise murmured, her voice trembling.“Victoria! What the hell is wrong with you?” Her father, Martins, barked. His voice carrie

  • Once His Nightmare, Now His Employee    39 ~ In The Arms of My Enemy

CASPIAN The moment I stepped into my house, I headed straight for the guest room to check on Dorian. But just as my hand wrapped around the doorknob, something inside me hissed No.I froze.I didn’t want to see him. I despised him. I despised him for his little pity act.Why was he walking alone on the road? Why did he pretend to be sick? Why beg me to save his life? And why-why had I fallen for it?All because of that meddling Xavier. If this continued, I would fire him from his job. He had already been here too long. Idiot.I turned away from the guest room and took the stairs two at a time. That’s a habit I’ve never been able to break. Honestly, who has the patience to take stairs one step at a time? Feels like torture. If I can run, I will. Every second counts.I looked around with the hopes of seeing Vinni, my dog. But she was nowhere to be found. It was probably asleep. When I reached my bedroom door, a yawn escaped before I could stop it. My hand was just on the handle whe

  • Once His Nightmare, Now His Employee    38 ~ Scars of The Heart II

CASPIAN Dorian's brown eyes shimmered under the golden lights, the pupils dilating like they were drinking it all in. He was dressed in a navy velvet blazer over a white silk shirt, with gold cufflinks that caught the light whenever he moved. Slim-fit trousers hugged his legs, and his black patent leather shoes reflected the glow of the fairy lights. His hair was styled to perfection, not a single strand out of place. The moment his gaze landed on me, his face lit up. I straightened from the fence and tried to smile back.He ran toward me and wrapped his arms around me in an embrace so sudden it knocked the breath from my chest. The overpowering scent of his cologne—expensive, sharp, and layered—flooded my senses until I nearly coughed. His hands lingered on my back before he stepped away. “Wow! I can’t believe you came.” His voice was genuinely warm.“Yeah… same,” I muttered, rubbing the back of my head. The truth was, I wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for the money. That’s a

  • Once His Nightmare, Now His Employee    37 ~ Scars of The Heart

CASPIAN“Who is that young man in Xavier’s arms?”Alexandra’s voice cut through the still air, delicate yet sharp enough to make my chest tighten. It lingered in my ears even after I heard the dull thud of the car door shutting. And there it was—the question I had no desire to answer. Because how do I explain who Dorian is to me… without opening wounds that never healed?I eased myself out of her embrace, slowly, as though even the act of letting go carried a weight. Her eyes—those beautiful, searching eyes—were fixed on mine, holding a glimmer of curiosity that I knew would only grow sharper.I forced a smile, the kind that doesn’t reach the heart. “Let’s go inside. We’ll talk.”A faint smile tugged at her lips. “I’m glad.”I knew what had flashed through her mind, even without her saying it. She had jumped to the wrong conclusion again. And unless I set the record straight, she would keep thinking I had some taste for men. The irony of it almost made me laugh… almost. She stepped pa
