OPHELIA

I nearly missed my footing as I stepped on him. My body hurled back and I would’ve fallen if his hands didn’t catch my waist and pull me into him.

“Breathe, Ophelia.”

Our eyes met and my fingers tightened around his wedding suit as though only he could help me out of this situation. Months ago, I’d told myself that I wasn’t going to trust him or give him such a chance.

Now it seemed that not only did I trust him(maybe a little), I also was beginning to depend on him. Was this right?

OPHELIA“The DNA results are out.”Confusion washed over me as I walked to the doctor’s side and made him face me. “What DNA result are you talking about?”He brought out an envelope and stretched it to my Pa. But before it got to him, I snatched it and tore it open, my fingers opening the papers to read what was written.“Miss Selena has a 99.99% paternity match with Mr Valentino,” the doctor announced. Blood thumped in my head drastically as I read the report for myself. 99.99 paternity match. This confirms that Miss Selena, age 25 is the biological daughter of Mr Valentino.”My knees weakened and I staggered backward. Realizing the child was behind me, I forced myself to stabilize and pressed her against my legs. The doctor bowed and walked away. My gaze lifted to my father. He had his head down, his eyes staring blankly at the table before him as he shook his head. How was this even possible? What exactly is going on?I needed a goddamn explanation.“Father. What is going on?

OPHELIAAfter helping grandmother settle into the house, I left the house with Alia for my father’s.As the car rolled to a stop in front of my father’s mansion, a flash of excitement washed over me. It had been a long while since she visited this place. After her wedding to Julius, her visits had been fewer and less frequent until she totally stopped. The servants welcomed her enthusiastically. “Welcome, Miss Ophelia.”“Welcome back, Miss Ophelia.”Then their questioning eyes fell on the child that she was carrying. “Everyone, this is Alia, my daughter. Alia, say hi to the aunties.”Alia who’d been less chatty today angled her body to face them and waved weakly. The five servants began to whisper amongst themselves in surprise but none of them questioned. They made way for us to pass.“Pa is going to get here in no time. " Has the food been made?”“Yes, Miss Ophelia.”I gestured for the guards to bring in the few boxes and balloons that they carried. Because my Pa was getting discha

  • Once His Pawn, Now His Brother’s Obsession— Too Late, Ex!   Sharing A Room

OPHELIAWhen Ronan had said we were going to share the room last night, I’d had a mini heart attack, but when he’d informed me that my room was under work and had left without returning, my heart had steadied. There was no way on earth I was sharing a room with Ronan. Not with the way my pulse raced whenever he came close, or the way my eyes seemed to linger on his lips whenever he spoke. Even the smallest shift in our proximity was enough to make my core throb and my legs to press together. Sharing a bed would only be a disaster for me. Just the mere thought of it made me anxious to the core.My eyes fluttered open the next morning when I heard voices drifting from downstairs. I slowly sat up, stretched my legs, and pushed myself out of bed. After opening the door, I began making my way downstairs, still dressed in the yellow bow-tie pajama set Ronan had handed me the previous night.“I can no longer bear staying in that house. It’s either I’m here with you or start preparing my g

Was this right? “I’m breathing.”“You are. But I want you to take a deep breath.”I shut my eyes for a second and did as he asked before meeting his gaze again.“Good.”“But this is not the time to do breathing exercises. I think Selena is up to something.”“I believe so too. I’ll dig into it.”“What kind of coincidence was it that she was the one who saved Pa?”“You’re panicking.” “I think I know what she plans.”He raised an amused brow at me. Was this the time to act all cocky? “I think she wants Pa to adore

OPHELIAMy father grew silent for a minute. He didn’t say anything and just kept staring at her. After a minute that felt like an hour, he shook his head.“What kind of person was your mother like?”Selena let out a pitiful chuckle— one that made me recoil. “She was the sweetest. Because she was tall, she wanted to become a model. But after birthing me, my father rejected us and that was how her dream died. She couldn't give me the life she wanted to give me. Hopefully…” she caressed her stomach. “I get to be involved in my child’s life and give her everything.”I rolled my eyes. I had had enough.Look at who was talking about motherhood and childbirth.“Look who’s talking about motherhood.” It was time I burst my father’s bubble and tell him the truth.I rose from where I sat and clapped my hands. “Go on. Tell him what a hypocrite you are.”“Ophelia,” Pa scolded.I jabbed my fingers at her. “You don’t know her, Pa. What if I tell you that this woman here is the one who stole Alia a

OPHELIAI shut my eyes to make sure that I wasn’t seeing things, but even after I opened my eyes again, she remained. As she stepped out of the room fully, I roamed my surprised eyes over her appearance, a surprised gasp escaping my lips.“Ophelia.”Her call of my name snapped the shock out of me. I moved before my legs even registered, pulling my Pa behind me as if to protect him.“Selena.”I glared at her sharply. Before I could speak, Ronan stormed to stand between us and grabbed her arm. “What are you doing here? Who released you?” He asked, his voice thick and rough as he pushed me behind him. Selena looked from my Pa to him. Despite his tight hold on her, she had a bright expression, and a smile spread across her lips. “I was at the prisoner’s clinic when I found Mr Valentino.”“What are you playing at now?”“Mr Throne, please be gentle. As you can see, I’m not alone anymore.”She placed her hand on her belly. My eyes trailed to the tiny baby bump, just visible beneath her hosp

OPHELIA Not a second passed before I pulled away and took a quick step away from him. “Mr Throne.” As always, my brother-in-law wore that same smug, unreadable expression. He said nothing. Instead, his eyes raked over my body slowly and deliberately, from my head to my toes. Then his gaze retu
