YOUNG KILLIAN’S POV
“No….father please! Father..father please!”
My eyes opened instantly, beads of sweat running from my forehead to every part of me as my chest fell and rose, my heart pounding heavily inside of it. I shut my eyes slowly, taking a huge gulp before clenching my jaw hard. It was the same dream, the one that my father has inflicted on me and might haunt me till the day I died.
It got better each time, some days it ended where he slashed my mother’s face with his claws, some days when he discovered that I wasn’t his son and gave her the first slap. And some days, just like this one, when he had successfully torn her head from her body and was on his way to kill me only to be weakened because he had killed her.
In our world, an alpha should never kill his mate, or anyone related to him no matter the offense. And the day my father, or the Alpha since I wasn’t his child, killed my mother, that was the day he lost most of his power.
My eyes flew open as the door swung open heavily, revealing the devil I was thinking about. I sat up quickly from the bed as he matched towards me, grabbing me by the hem of my cloth and those bloodthirsty eyes that wished they could have killed me that day stared deeply back into mine now,
“You know what today is right?” He asked, tightening his grip on my cloth.
I nodded in response, watching how his veins popped up on his face, “my fucking wedding day!” He added.
“If I see you outside, I would have the guards kill you today. If you don’t want to end up where your whore mother ended up, stay in this fucking room and do not play any stunt, either wise, you’ll wish you died that day!”
He threw me off his hand, turning his back at me and matching out with the same guards that he came in with. Tears pooled my eyes as I heard the lock of the door, meaning I had been locked in this backyard in the woods. The back of my throat was filled with bitterness as I glanced through the wooden room, the place I had lived for half of my entire life.
I sniffed in, wiping the tears that slid down my eyes and stared at the door angrily with my 10 year old eyes. I was going to kill him one day, the same way he killed my mother. I was going to start by locking and confining him to a space just like he has done to him, and kill him finally.
All of this, One day when I finally free. I swallowed and stood up from the floor, ignoring the pain that was shooting from my back from the throw. I walked to the large mirror, my little hands moving up to my button to remove the shirt when I heard a voice.
My hand froze on the first button, my head snapping towards the window and my ears attentive, waiting for the voice to come again.
“Stop that! I’m not picking you!” I heard a sweet angelic voice.
I snapped back to the mirror with my eyes widened, it was the voice of a child! A child that could be the same age as mine! I removed the shirt hastily, flinging it on the floor. I picked another one, although dirty like most of my other clothes, throwing it on as I glimpsed one of the hideous scars my father has given me.
I opened the window to climb out, glancing at the door once again. I just had to peep at her. Peep at the girl, and then come back. I jumped out, closing the window quickly before running into the yard, trying to find the voice. My heart swarmed with joy as I heard more child-like voices, a twinge of eagerness spreading through my body.
I got close to a small hut and opened the door only to freeze right in my steps. The room was filled with boys my age, and just the little girl whose voice I had heard. All the little eyes turned to me, but none captivated me more than the girl with the golden orbs, staring at me with confusion in her eyes, her blonde hair packed into a ponytail with some strands right in front, a little note in her hand and a pen that seemed too big for her hand in the other.
“What are you doing here, you weirdo!” A little voice I knew so well said, and I turned to look at my half brother, Lucas.
He was marching towards me when a little hand stopped him, “let him join in the game.” She said, looking from Lucas back to me.
“Come in. It’s a game of Luna and Alpha. I'm Luna and I’ll pick one of you to be my alpha.”
I nodded at her, walking right in. I could only stare at her as she arranged us, she looked so little, so wise and so calming. The way she controlled them all, the way she spoke, her poise, everything about her was mesmerizing. Besides my mother, she was the only girl I’ve seen that looked as pretty as her.
“So I’ll be picking now,” her voice cut off my thoughts as she stood in front of us, eyes ranging from each of us. As her eyes stopped on mine, we stared at each other for a bit longer, those golden orbs pulling me in and wanting to drown me in them. They felt like a safe space, a safe haven for me. And if I could, I would stare at her for the rest of my life.
She blinked away suddenly and looked over again to them all before stopping on me again, “what’s your name?” Her sleek angelic voice sounded.
“Killian.”
And she smiled. She lifted her thin lips into a wide smile, her absolutely white teeth sparkling at me, “I pick you, Killian as the alpha to my pack. We’ll get married and we’ll love each other forever.”
Before I could say anything, Lucas growled out, rushing towards me and pushing me to the ground. “You did something on her! I’m her king not you stupid bastard whore child! You’re just like your dead mother! Doing things that don't belong to you!”
If it was his father, the alpha insulting my mother, I had nothing to do to him, he was stronger. But Lucas, I would beat him before he can even lift a finger. I growled back at him, standing up from the floor and rushing to grab him.
“What? You want to beat me!” He yelled out.
“Enough!” She interrupted, standing in the middle of both of us.
She turned to Lucas and I could get the full glimpse of her hair, a small pink butterfly ribbon in the middle of her band, holding the hair tightly, “no one is allowed to insult anyone here, I pick Killian as my king and not you, Lucas. And your action just showed you’re not fit to be an alpha…
“But Hazel, it has always been me, why him…
“My choices changed.” She cut him off, looking at me.
“I’m Hazel.” She smiled at me, stretching her hand straight to me.
Her words tugged my heart, especially the last one. It was the first time someone was picking me in my entire life after my mother died. The first time someone looked up at me with affection and gave me a bright smile. It looked surreal, unbelievable that I, Killian, the illegitimate son of Alpha Robin could be stared at with such beautiful eyes.
Not black orbs that wanted to kill me and not those of the maids that treated me like shit. Before I could reply, my ears picked up on the sound of a particular large foot that I had learned the sound of. Fear curled up to my back, glancing through the entire room as I found somewhere to hide in.
I crouched behind the pile of woods, my heart racing fast in my chest as the door opened, the same voice I had heard in my room today, warning me, sounding at the rest of the children, “father, Killian was here. He broke the rule.” I heard Lucas say, my heart sinking right to my stomach.
“Was he? Where is that bastard!”
“Nobody named Killain was here.” I heard her say and my brows perked up.
There was a little silence for a while, and his boot stepped forward. It made my heart beat faster as I peeped to watch him crouch in front of Hazel, “how do you know Killian?”
I watched her take her stance, “I don’t know him, but Lucas said someone like that was here but I didn’t see him. We were just playing. I didn’t see anyone new.”
I watched the Alpha look to the other boys, “is that true, did someone new come in here?” He asked one of them.
The boy looked at Hazel who looked back at him, shaking his head negatively, “nope, your highness. He wasn’t here.”
The alpha hesitated a bit, staring back and forth between Hazel and the remaining children, his eyes squinted at them and the hint of doubt growing in his eyes, “shall we go eat, my lady? I’m now hungry.” Hazel cut in again.
The alpha stood up, a huge smile plastered on his wicked face, one he hasn’t bothered to offer me for my entire life, “sure.”
He turned back, stretching his hand towards Lucas as they both took the first step out, followed by the new lady which I presumed to be his wife as the other kids walked out. Hazel was the last in the room, and I watched her tear a paper from her little note, and open the cap of the pen and scribbled some words on it before turning to leave.
After making sure everyone was gone, I left my hiding space and picked the paper, running as fast as I could back to my little backyard home. I opened the window, climbing right back in and tucking it close before opening the paper, my lips stretched into a big smile.
“Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me. And I’m still your Luna. My signature is the first letter of my name. So it’s Hazel.”
I crumpled the paper, tearing it into pieces all with a bright smile still on my face before tearing it and chewing it. I was going to find her when I was free and make her my Luna. She’ll be mine after I kill the Alpha, and I’ll name her my Luna just like she has done for me today.
END OF FLASHBACK.
I watched her slowly remember everything, the blood drained out of her face. She had grown to be a fine young lady and completely forgot about me, choosing the one with bad character as her husband, “it was just a child's game. Nothing more.” She said in horror, her golden orbs staring into mine.
I ignored her words, her yells and her screams as I picked her up from the floor, throwing her over my neck before whispering, “it was never a game to me.”
HazelI woke up to the sensation of something wet grazing my legs. My initial grogginess gave way to alertness, and I opened my eyes to see Killian between my thighs, his tongue tracing lazy circles on my skin. His eyes locked onto mine, and he smirked, his signature look that never failed to send shivers running marathon down my spine.“Good morning, beautiful,” he murmured, his voice deep and husky.“Killian,” I breathed, feeling a flush of heat spread through me. “What are you doing?”“What does it look like?” he replied with a mischievous glint in his eye. “I’m starting my day off right, with you.”“Wh-wh-what?”“That’s right, princess, I’m hungry.”“But I haven’t taken my bath yet!” I say weakly trying to squeeze myself away from him. Deep down I don’t want to. I want to stay right there, positioned at the place that would be most comfortable for him to eat the fuck out of me.He lowered his head and resumed his ministrations, his tongue teasing the sensitive skin of my inner thi
Killian's POVMeanwhile, Hazel returned home, exhausted from her journey. She met Celeste on her way to her room, and they talked about how bad it was to have hated me all these years. Even though she didn't know what her father did to me, she was sure it must have been terrible for me to deserve that. They decided to talk better the next day because Hazel was tired and sleepy. At least that’s all I know from what my wolf picked up from listening in on the walls. She crept into the bedroom, not wanting to disturb me, but as she approached, she noticed I was having a nightmare. My eyes were closed tightly, but my face was twisted in anguish.Hazel's heart went out to me. She gently sat beside me and stroked my hair, trying to calm me down. I murmured her name, my voice barely audible."Hazel...please..."Hazel's touch seemed to soothe me, and I slowly woke up. My eyes locked onto hers, filled with deep sadness."I'm sorry," I whispered through my tears. "I didn't mean to..." I don’t cr
LUCAS POV"My son, you should know by now that I have your best interest in heart. I'm sure that both of you will make a wonderful couple" Alpha Fenrir said with a corny and warm smile while I controlled the urge to snort at him in anger." This is not our agreement, you told me that I'll get married to Hazel not this wolf less, weak and lowly daughter of yours! " I snapped trying to control the anger coursing through my veins."I know that I promised you that you'll get married to Hazel but I just realized that hazel won't be a great Luna and I'm sure that you want a great Luna who will love you and bear your offsprings " he replied with a grin that looked so fake that I felt like a fool for trusting this man so much up till this extent."I don't understand why you're doing this. You say one thing, but your actions say another. Why can't you stop been this way? It fucks me up!" I yelled at his faceThe alpha's smile faltered, revealing a snarl. "How dare you question me, Lucas! I'm y
LUCAS"Talk?” Fenrir asked with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean talk? Haven't you accepted Diana as your mate?”Lucas clenched his fists."Maybe I'm too late with this decision but all of your tyranny ends - here and now!”The guests began to move uncomfortably in their seats. An elderly man stood up from his chair."Can we go on with the wedding, Lucas? You can settle whatever dispute it is later on. Just let things be. Whatever the issue is, the truth will out on its own.”Lucas turned with searching eyes to see the person who had just spoken."Then the truth will out now.” He turned back to Fenrir. "You are Diana's father!” His voice bounced off the walls as silence fell on the guests. Gasps of horror came from various angles. Diana began to hyperventilate. Diana's mother jolted in shock and closed her eyes as the shame of the unexpected revelation washed over her.Fenrir braced himself though he was taken by surprise at Lucas' announcement.“Slander! You have no proof of that,
HAZEL“Wait! Stop! Stop!"The guests began to murmur among themselves as the bride made her way to the front. Lucas looks her over again and his wolf is unsettled.“What is it?" He whispers to his wolf.“She doesn't have a wolf. I can't sense her."Then it dawned on Lucas. What's this all about? Has he tricked me? Just then, Diana looked up, suddenly feeling a pang of guilt as her face colored in embarrassment behind her veil.“Is anything the problem, my lord?" She asked Lucas in a shaky voice. But Lucas' gaze was far from fixed on her. He had his eyes on Fenrir. This game of his wasn't worth putting his best foot forward and he showed his lowly regard for him by giving Diana to him in marriage. Well played.Fenrir, who stood at the back of the hall, had a sly smile playing out on his lips with a glint of amusement in his eyes. Of course, Lucas couldn't miss this but he couldn't play smartass here.Diana's mother began to panic.“What's going on?" She whimpered to no one in particula
Hazel"Margaret!" her mother screamed again. I ran in the direction of the screams, even as Ophelia yelled my name and Celeste pulled me towards herself."Oomph," I muffled a groan as my nose made contact with Celeste's collarbone."Are you insane? What are you doing?" Ophelia asked as she reached me. I pulled my head away from Celeste and glared at her."Margaret," I gasped out to Ophelia once Celeste lowered her eyes. "She's a little girl I met a few days ago. I walked her home. I need to find her."Celeste let go of me and folded her arms across her chest. "Forgive me," she said with hard eyes. "But there is no way I’d let you go anywhere. Didn't you hear anything I said?"I rolled my eyes and looked at her. "Yes, I heard you. But there's a little girl out there. Do you want me to just forget and not even try to find her?" I could feel the anger bubbling inside."What I believe she's trying to say," Ophelia placed a hand on my shoulder, calming me instantly, "is that we need to thi
