Davies’ POV

All he was saying were unwanted questions to me. I just want to know what those people who were handpicking wanted.

" What did you observe that was common about those people who had been taken?" Jason asked and that got them thinking.

That was the exact question I needed an answer to.

Jason never let me down in this type of situation. Anytime it's about investigation, I let Jason handle it. That's his forte and as calm as he was, he would fish the culprit out soon.

That was the reason when they first came to me that someone was kidnapping my people, I wasn't bothered because I knew Jason was going to fix it.

But later I got to know that Jason wasn't in the palace and that he has been secretly following me about.

I was mad at first but then I let it go. I should have known that both Jason and Kilan were not someone I could send away from my side. They always act like glue and won't leave even if I almost kill them.

"They are all adolescents," the head of the patrol,

Davies' POVJason and Kilan kept staring at me as I paced around anxiously. They must have thought I had gone insane because of a woman but then I knew what I saw and I was sure the feeling I had was very real. But truth be told, I was going insane because I wasn't close to her and didn't know what was going on with her. "You can't base your actions on just a dream, my lord. It's just a day that she left you, I am sure it's because you are sad that she left that was why you had that dream," Jason said politely.I wouldn't deny the fact that I was sad that she left and that I already miss her but I didn't think that was the reason that dream came. It was too real to be brought to my imagination."That's not true," I snapped.I was angry at them because they were only stopping me because of what I came to the Kingdom to do. But then I can't forgive myself if anything happens to Stephanie. I just can't."What if you go there and she doesn't want to see you? It would be like you are inv

Stephanie's POVThings were beginning to get good for me. Ava wasn't the brutal one has I thought she was. She took care of me and my baby. We went shopping and gave me a lot of jewellery. I wasn't moved by what she gave me but by her kind heart. Alpha Gregory had come to visit me and I told him how kind Ava was."I told you she was going to take care of you," he said with a little smile on his lips." I know you did Alpha but it was normal for me to think that she was going to be mean, knowing your relationship with her," I said.Ava had brought me ice cream that morning and I was very glad. I knew that I had made the right choice of not following Davies. For good six days I was taken care of. Sometimes, Alpha Gregory himself would take me for a walk and tell me about the pack. He had told me that Ava had scolded him for not coming to see me often being that I was carrying his child. I laughed. I told him that Ava was exaggerating and that she was just anxious about the baby. Alp

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Was This Still A Dream?

Stephanie's POV I woke up with a start from the dream I just had. It felt a bit off. The evil intruder in my dream seem to be familiar with me.The person's form was undisclosed and I began to wonder how powerful that person must be. The only powerful person I had been familiar with was none other than Davies. With sigh, I suddenly felt a pang of pain as my wolf howled in sadness inside of me. I tried to communicate with her but I just couldn't do it.It could only mean that she was hurting but how?Somehow, I felt that something was definitely amiss with these scary dreams. However, things turned around the next day that Alpha Gregory left the pack. It was a turn around that was too sudden and unexpected. I was sleeping peacefully in my room, expecting Ava to come when someone burst into the room. I woke up in fear wondering who it was."Get your stinky body out of that bed!" A female shouted.I looked at the one who talked to me rudely, it was Ava's personal maid. I was shocked at

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   True Colors Shown

Stephanie POVI nodded at her. If she had shown me her true color from the first day we met, I might not be having this trauma. I knelt down there thinking what might go wrong. Last night we were still eating together like good friends. Why did she turn into an enemy all of a sudden? As I was battling internally with my thoughts, I felt a sharp pain all through my body and I screamed in agony. "If I'm talking to you, you open your mouth to talk. Can you hear me?"" Yes yes yes" I cried out in pain." Yes what? " She blurted out."Yes Luna!" I said. " Fine," she smiled with satisfaction. This was another side of Ava that I saw but then if she wasn't happy with me, why did she have to pretend that she was and even made me think I've found a friend like a sister. "Please tell me what I've done wrong to make you change all of a sudden. The Ava... Luna I know was patient with me and took care of me. Please, what did I do wrong?" I pleaded in tears. My tears weren't from the whip but be

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Forgive Me...

Stephanie's POVWas she actually kidding me? She wanted me to mop the floor when it's raining heavily. That was pure wickedness. I was so shocked at what she gave me to do. I wouldn't have held a grudge if she had given me real chores because I had done many minimal jobs to earn a living. But mopping the floor when it was raining so heavily was pure punishment. How did she expect the floor to dry?"But it is raining," I said to her.If she didn't know that it was raining, I tried to remind her but I regretted. The next second, I had a resounding slap on my left ear and it affected my right, even to my brain. It was as if I lost the ability to hear and pain ran into my brain. I held my ear in pain and tears streamed down my face. "How dare you question me! Did I tell you I'm blind and don't know it's raining ? That's the job I want to give you, so do your job before I kick that thing out of your stomach!" She growled.I still didn't get the reason why she was doing this to me because

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   I Was Too Foolish

Stephanie 's POV If I had stayed with Davies, he would have taken me to a pack where I would be living without anyone torturing me but I had thought coming here was good for the child.Even if Davies came to rescue me, I would be too ashamed to go with him. He definitely would have seen me as a woman who was indecisive. A woman who doesn't think before she acts but then I thought about it well. I was just too foolish to notice the red flag. When Ava was excessively kind, I should have known that it was almost a pretence. I was stupidly thinking someone like her could exist. "Ma'am, why don't we just get rid of her pregnancy? We can just say she miscarried it," I heard Ava's maid say. That girl was just nothing but an embodiment of evil. I didn't know what I had done to wrong her in this life. I might even understand Ava's pain and jealousy but that maid, all these whole issues, had nothing to do with her. I glared at her as she said that."What? Are y

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   I Think She Misses You

Ava's POVAlthough I miss Gregory so much I was still happy that he didn't return home as early as he had thought. It gave me enough time to torture that girl and also let Gregory think she was bad."Honey, when will you return, I think Stephanie misses you so much," I said to him." I'll be home soon, I need to settle business here before I can return, " he said to me.I was angry that he didn't talk against me saying that Stephanie missed him. I only said that so as to know if he had any feelings for her. I've been angry at Gregory lately because he's been getting closer to that girl. That wasn't supposed to be the plot. He was supposed to always counter whatever I told him to do for the girl but he was accepting all and that's what was getting me vexed. I couldn't take out my anger on Gregory but I could take it out on that b*tchGregory had said he wasn't able to reach Stephanie and I told him I don't know why. We were having lunch when Gregory called me and said that he was coming with some friends. I was so happy because I was going to see him and also because my plan would be very interesting.I didn't tell Stephanie that Gregory was on his way home. I just told the kitchen that the Alpha was coming back with friends. Everyone started to put things in order because they knew Gregory cared much about his dignity and appearance.I loved Stephanie in that she didn't know all that was happening. I wanted her to be shocked to see Gregory .And soon Gregory returned with his friend. Gregory had done something that hurt me, he didn't introduce his friends as his Luna and also he kept asking for Stephanie ."Should I bring Stephanie to have lunch with us?" • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   End Up Losing My Sanity

Stephanie’s POVSince I left Gregory’s side, I had resumed looking around the maze-like building for Davies but it was to no avail. At first, I didn't want to get the domestic staff involved but seeing I will not be able to find him without their help, I had no choice but to do so. Even at that, no one could tell me his whereabouts, leaving me even more frustrated.Rubbing my neck which was still aching slightly, I was retracing my steps when I saw him through the window. All the while I had been searching for him, he wasn't in the building. He was walking down the path that led to the main building with his head buried. Doubling my footsteps, I rushed towards the main door just when he was letting himself in. “You just disappeared after leaving the table.” I said in a breath, my hands folded in front of me, my voice quieter than I meant it to be.“Are you okay?" I asked, peering into his eyes. The fact tha

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Need To Clear My Head

Alpha Gregory’s POVI tried to act indifferent, like I wasn't bothered by anything. My expression was neutral, my voice steady and my steps even. But inside, I was burning. I was like a caged beast that was yearning for freedom. After leaving the dining room that morning, I went to the east end of the building where no one lived. . I wanted to be alone and also empty my heart which was heavy but I couldn't. With my hands tucked inside my pockets, I paced the length and breadth of the little space, my jaws tightened and fists clenched in my pockets. The old seeker's last smirk was still embedded in memory no matter how hard I tried to shake it off. The look on his face didn't look like that of a defeated man, instead, he wore the look of someone who knew something I didn't. And that scared the hell out of me each time I recalled the scene. All my life, I had always believed in transparency especi

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   You Did Nothing Wrong

Stephanie’s POVThe following morning, I woke up to the sound of the kids babbling. They sounded excited and I got curious. Pulling myself up, I shifted my gaze to the cot only to see Gregory hovering over them. He was grinning widely as he played with the kids. He was acting in contrast to the way he had acted last night. Relieved that he had returned to normalcy, I threw my feet off the bed, waddling my way towards them. “Hey,” I said to get his attention. He only nodded but didn’t say anything to me. Shrugging off the thought making rounds in my head, I groped my way towards the bathroom to clean up. Soon it was breakfast and the maid came to fetch us. I was already heading out when I discovered Gregory wasn’t tagging along. He was standing behind the window now that the kids were asleep. “Aren’t you coming down for breakfast?” I asked, my tone mild so as not to tick him off. Whatever it is that’s the problem, I had to th

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Happy For Her

Davies’s POVAt the seekers' lair, the moment Stephanie stepped out with the kids, I wanted to rush to her side and give her a bear hug but somehow, I was able to hold back from doing so.And when she ran to Gregory immediately, my heart shredded into a million pieces. So as not to dwell on the scene playing right beside me, I busied myself watching the fire that was rising into the sky.To keep Stephanie close, I had offered to host them for the night and to my delight, he accepted without making a fuss.Even with her presence and the fire crackling in the fireplace of the bar, the house was cold. With my back turned on them, I kept my gaze out of the windows as my heart clenched against my chest. Stephanie tried all she could to lighten the mood but Gregory was distant and just the same way she was hurt with his attitude, so was I. Pushing my hand into my pockets, I swirled around. It was then I discovered Stephanie had left Gregory to himself and I was glad she did. Was I happy

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   When The Time Is Right

Stephanie’s POVFinally, it was all over. The seekers had all gone to fight Gregory and the army but none of them returned to the dimly lit hall for me and my kids, not even the old seeker. Scooping my kids in my arms, I placed a tender kiss on their foreheads, holding them to my chest as relief watched through me.The thought of losing one of them had made me terrified as cold chills ran through my spines. After kicking off the bowl the old seeker had placed my son in readiness for the sacrifice, I turned around to leave. They were fast asleep, so they were oblivious of what was happening around them. “This way." One of Gregory's soldiers said, steering me down a path which led out of the Seekers lair. The moment I stepped out into the bright night, I saw them. Gregory was standing tall with blood dripping down one side of his face while Davies stood behind him. “Raze down the cave." Davies commanded and immediately, the night erupted into bright flames. • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Secret

Alpha Gregory’s POVFinally, it was the day of the ritual.Stephanie and the kids were finally going to return to me once more. All through the day, I was giddy with excitement that I couldn't sit still. The prospect of having my family back after several days was too good to be true that I couldn't think of anything else.“You should get some rest, it's going to be a long night." Davies had said to me countless times but I always shoved his words to the side. An hour before the ritual would begin, Davies and I went over our plans with our allies for the last time before we ventured into the dark night. The closer we got to the lair, the thicker the tension in the air. I bet I was the only one feeling this way because Davies and the others were unfazed. The Lycans moved in silence, their eyes glowing in the dark and their claws were extended and ready for the bloodshed to come. The Dragons towered above the

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Abducted

Stephanie's POVResting my back against the cold wall, I had my knees pulled up to my chin with my eyes all over the place. The only thing I could think about were my kids. Ever since we got abducted, I haven't been allowed to see them. Their incessant cries were the only thing that gave me hope that they were alive, nothing more. Holding my breath, I tried to pull myself to my feet but I couldn't as I was cramped. I have been confined to this little space and so I didn't have enough space to move my legs about. What should I do now? I was the seekers' target and not the kids. If anything happens to my innocent children, I will never be able to forgive myself.Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps in the hallway came to an end and almost immediately, the door creaked open and one of the seekers stepped in. Scrambling to my feet, I asked, “My kids, how are they? You said you were going to check with

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Let's Do This

Davies's POV With my hands tucked inside my pockets, I fixed my gaze on the flickering flames of the fireplace in my study. The room was warm, yet I felt cold. It wouldn't be long before I become completely frozen. Instead of going to meet Gregory in his pack, I had invited him over so we could plan on how to take down the seekers once and for all. It took us several hours but still, we have been unable to come up with something solid. Just when it seemed like we were getting a breakthrough, there would be an obstacle or a loophole that would leave us with no choice but to start all over again. The truth was, there was no perfect plan but of course, there was one which could be regarded as almost perfect. Infiltrating the seekers' hideout was the plan and unlike the last time when I was the only one who needed to be rescued, three delicate lives were on the line. And we intend to save them all.

  • Once Rejected, Twice Mated   Secret

Davies's POV It was getting more messy. Gregory was losing his head and as if that was not enough, he had resumed blaming me for being behind Stephanie's and the kid's abduction. Clasping my hands, I leaned against the window pane, allowing my eyes to travel the distance as different thoughts swirled around my head.It had been confirmed that the seekers had them but no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't locate their hiding place. Just when I was about to go berserk and kick things into the air, an idea struck and it sounded like the breakthrough I wanted. Instead of staying in the shadows and searching for the seekers current location, I will put myself out there so they will know what I was up to. My plan clicked and in less than twenty four hours, I was invited by the head of the seekers.Without wasting time, I embarked on the journey and on arrival since I was being expected, I was led right int
