Raven’s POV

Three days, that was how long everything stayed quiet after my father walked out.

Three days of me waking up every hour, checking the doors, checking my phone, waiting for the next bomb to drop.

My guys never left the house.

We turned the hockey house into a fortress. Windows locked, motion sensors on.

Dante slept in the hallway with a shotgun across his lap.

I could not eat or think straight.

Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Caleb’s face and heard his voice telling me to dissolve my bonds.

The words kept playing over and over until I almost ran mad.

On the fourth morning my phone rang with a number I did not know.

I answered.

“Put me on speaker,” Caleb said. No hello, no softness. Just orders.

I did it. My guys gathered around quickly.

“I gave you time,” he said. “Time is up. You come home today or I start talking.”

Ethan grabbed the phone from my hand. “You threaten her again and I will find you,” he snarled.

Caleb laughed, short and cold. “Boy, you have no id

Raven’s POV The guards came at dawn. They dragged us out of the cell and down stone corridors. We walked on bare feet. The silver cuffs were gone from my mates, but the burns stayed red around their wrists. I kept looking at those marks and feeling the rage build higher in my chest. We ended up in a huge round pit. Stone seats rose up all around like an old gladiator ring. Hundreds of wolves already filled the benches. They stared down at us. The seven elders sat in a box of black stone above everyone else. The white haired woman stood when she saw us. She did not waste words.“Bring the King.”A gate on the far side opened and he walked out alone.Kaine.I knew it was him before anyone said the name, he was popular. His eyes had no warmth, or mercy. He wore only black pants. No shirt, no shoes and every muscle moved as if it was built for killing. The white haired woman spoke loud so everyone heard. “Kaine of the First Blood. Undefeated. Bonded to twelve Omegas before this day

Raven’s POV Three days. That was all the time they gave us.Three days to walk into the lion’s den or watch Ridgeway burn.I did not sleep, none of us did. We packed light bags each, no phones and packed weapons they couldn’t take away easily. We left the safe house at dawn, five of us in Ethan’s black truck, driving north into the mountains where no maps led to.My stomach knotted the whole ride. I sat between Ethan and Eli in the back seat. Ethan kept his hand on my thigh, thumb rubbing slow circles to relieve me of stress. Eli leaned his head on my shoulder, still pale from blood loss, but he refused to stay behind. Dante drove. Luca’s eyes were on the rearview mirror every two seconds, watching for tails.I kept replaying Cassian Vale’s words in my head. I hated that I was doing exactly what they wanted. We crossed an invisible line just after sunset and the air thickened. My wolf sat up inside me and whined. The truck rolled to a stop on its own.The engine went off and

Raven’s POV We all arrived at the safe house. I sat on the couch with my knees pulled to my chest, still wearing the same ripped clothes from last night. My hands would not stop shaking. Every time I closed my eyes I saw my father’s neck snap.Ethan paced the small living room. His blond hair stuck up from running his hands through it too many times. Luca sat at the kitchen table with a laptop open, fingers flying over the keys, eyes bloodshot. Dante leaned against the wall, arms crossed, jaw tight, staring at nothing. Eli was on the other couch, shirt off, bandages wrapped around his chest. He was pale but awake, that was all I cared about right now.I kept looking at the black duffel bag on the floor. My father’s bag. The one he always carried. The one I took off his body after I killed him.Luca finally spoke. “Raven. Come look at this.”I pushed myself up. My legs felt heavy. I walked over and stood behind him. On the screen were scanned pages. Old paper, yellowed edges,

Raven’s POV I watched the light leave his eyes ten minutes ago. Then his fingers twitched.I took one step back, then heard voices. My guys were already running inside the warehouse. People I prayed not to follow me. Ethan grabbed my arm to steady me, his grip tight. Luca was on my left, breathing hard. Dante stood in front of me, fists clenched. Eli was behind me, one hand pressed to his ribs, trying to hide how bad he was hurt.My father’s body jerked again and bones cracked loud. His skin split and fur poured out black all over his body. In seconds he was up on four legs, bigger than any Alpha I had ever seen. His eyes glowed red. Not the normal gold or amber. Red like fresh blood. He looked straight at me and growled so deep the ground shook under my feet.Ethan pushed me behind him. “Raven, get back.”“No.” My voice cracked. I stepped forward again. My father shifted back to half form. Tall, muscled, claws out, mouth full of teeth too big for a human face. He smiled at

Raven’s POV I stood in the kitchen at four in the morning and stared at the message again. Eli’s bloody face filled my screen every time I closed my eyes. I could still hear his voice telling me not to come.Ethan, Luca, and Dante had not stopped arguing since the video ended. Their voices rose and fell behind me.“We are not trading you,” Ethan said for the tenth time. His hands were fists on the table.Dante slammed a table so hard the table cracked. “He will kill Eli the second he has you. Then he will kill you slowly.”Luca kept pacing, phone to his ear, trying to trace the video. “We have sixteen hours left. We find the location. We hit hard. We take Eli and end Caleb.”I turned around slowly. They all stopped talking when they saw my face.“I am going,” I said quietly. Ethan stepped toward me. “Raven, no.”I held up my hand. “Eli is there because of me. Because he is human and easy to grab. Because he loves me. I am not letting him die for that.”Dante got in my face. His ey

Raven’s POVWe did not stop driving until the sun came up. Dante took back roads the whole night, hands pale on the wheel. Nobody spoke a word. Mom was really gone this time. I kept seeing her fall in Caleb’s arms. I kept hearing her last words. Live free, baby.I wanted to scream until my throat bled.We ended up at an old safe house Luca’s family owned in the middle of nowhere. One story, dirty driveway, no neighbors for miles. Dante carried me inside because I couldn’t walk. Ethan locked every door and window. Luca started pulling guns out of a hidden floor safe. They put me on the couch and covered me with blankets. I was so cold my teeth would not stop chattering.Ethan sat beside me and pulled me into his lap. I curled into him like a child. He held me tight and rocked slowly.“I got you,” he kept whispering. “I got you.”Dante paced the small living room. Every few seconds he punched the wall or kicked something. His knuckles were already split open and bleeding again.
