Chapter Fourteen

Ana stared at the buttons on the elevator angrily, trying to keep herself under control. The receptionist had made an urgent call, telling her Jack Knight was down at the reception. But what did Ana hear when she went downstairs? That Jack Knight had already gone up. It was weird how she had called to relay the first piece of information, but not the second. Just thinking about it was making Ana even more pissed.

She rolled her eyes. Maybe the girl didn’t like her but she didn’t want to come to any hasty situation. Ana hated being on bad terms with anyone. It could have been a mistake, and she was going to make sure that the girl knew she had not appreciated that error. It could even cost Ana her job. Today was an extremely important day and everyone knew it. Adams has been on edge the whole week. Little mistakes like this one were not to be repeated.
