"And that's the whole story," said Eloise sadly. "I'm going to have a baby, and my husband has left me."

Cassandra sat in disbelief at the story Eloise had just told her. She was appalled that Nicholas would just up and leave his wife of nine years. And with a note? What a coward!

Cassandra put into words what she had been thinking since Eloise had arrived and told her the news, "Elle, have you thought about calling Nicholas and telling him that you need to talk; that the conversation is super urgent?"

"I don't want him to come back just because of the baby, Cass. I want him to be here because he loves me, baby or not. I know I was getting frustrated with him and said I was tired of it all, but I honestly didn't mean it. I would have never left."

Cassandra reached over and hugged her friend. "It's going to be okay, Elle. I'm here for you. It'll all work out in the end, I promise."
