0006.

Hailey's POV

Alpha Zach grabbed my arm and began to pull me away.

"Let me go. I promise I will never try to escape again," I said.

"Says the woman who doesn't do as I tell her," Alpha Zach said angrily as he kept dragging me with him.

We finally got to the door. He opened the door and dragged me in with him.

"What are you trying to do?" I asked him, already getting scared.

"I'm locking you up here to learn your lesson," he said.

"Please don't lock me up here. I'm really scared of confined places. I'm claustrophobic, please," I got on my knees and begged but my pleas fell on deaf ears.

"Maybe this will teach you not to disobey me next time I give you an order," Alpha Zach said.

He turned around to leave but I grabbed him by his clothes, while still on my knees.

"Please," I begged him, tears formed in my eyes.

Alpha Zach looked down at me with something like hatred burning from his eyes. He was just the man I've known him to be, I thought as I held on to his clothes.

"Let me go this instant or will have your hands cut off," He said to me, and knowing Alpha Zach, he would do as he said.

I immediately withdrew my hands from him.

"I'll come back to let you out once I'm fully convinced that you've learned your lesson," he said before walking out of the room.

I let it a sigh of defeat as I sat on the floor with my knees crawling up my chest. From inside the room, I could hear him give orders to someone or some people.

"Don't let her out of this room. Remember, she is the peace treaty.

If we lose her a war would break out and we don't want that happening. Also, make sure that no one and I mean, no one gets access to her," he said.

"Yes Alpha," I heard two men speak.

They were probably the guards he had put in place to secure my door and ensure I didn't break out of the room. I heard his footsteps as he walked away. I sighed in defeat once again as tears formed in my eyes. I needed to leave this hellhole. I needed to escape this maltreatment. Sometimes I feel like I'm not needed here, that I'm here just for the sake of the treaty.

To get my mind off the situation on the ground, I began to hum a song that my father used to sing to him when I was a little girl. I didn't know when I slept off but all I knew was that I opened my eyes and the whole room was dark.

I was a bit scared because aside from being claustrophobic, I was also scared of the dark. I sat still in my spot not moving, hoping that morning would come soon and the sun would light up the room once again. Just then, the door to my room opened and I saw someone walk in with a lamp. As the person drew closer, I realized it was one of the maids. In one hand, she held a lamp while in the other hand, she carried a tray of what I guessed was my dinner.

"The Alpha asked me to bring this to you and he said you must eat this," she said.

"Tell the Alpha that I'm not hungry," I said.

Although I was starving, I wanted to prove stubborn but instead of turning around to leave, the maid dropped the food on the floor in front of me.

"You just have to eat this. You know how the Alpha hates being disobeyed," the maid said to me.

Of course, I knew that. That's exactly why I'm in this room right now, I thought to myself. I looked from the maid to the tray of food on the floor. I opened the cover and the aroma of the food threw me off balance. The food didn't just smell nice; it also looked really good. It made my stomach grumble even more.

"Fine; I'll eat it," I said.

The maid bowed and began to walk towards the door to leave the room. As she got to the door and grabbed the knob, I stopped her. She turned around to look at me and I asked,

"Can you leave the lamp with me, please? It's too dark here."

"Of course," she said, flashing a small smile at me.

She walked back towards me and dropped the lamp on the floor in front of me. I smiled at her and she turned around and walked out of my room. I heard the guards fumble with the keys to lock the door. Suddenly, I heard a very familiar voice.

"Stop."

I rolled my eyes as I knew who it was already. Matilda.

"We're sorry, Luna Matilda but the Alpha has given us strict orders not to allow anyone to have access to the prisoner inside," I heard one of the guards say.

Oh wow, so I am now referred to as a prisoner, I thought. What a life.

"And do I look like just anyone? Will you allow me in or else I'll make sure you lose your jobs," Matilda threatened.

I saw the door to the room I was kept in open up again. Then Matilda walked in. With the help of the lamp that shone very brightly, I could see on her face that she was really angry. And I knew why she was. She had asked me to leave but here I was.

Without saying anything to me, she marched towards me and before I could say a word, I felt a sharp sting on my face.

"I asked you to leave but what are you still doing here?" She asked me.

I opened my mouth to explain but she raised her hands to hit me again. I was saved by a familiar deep, strong voice that belonged to Alpha Zach.

"THAT'S ENOUGH, MATILDA. LEAVE THIS ROOM THIS INSTANT," he yelled.
