Diamond’s POV

Since Nicholas told me that we would be having dinner at his family home, I have been restless. I haven't even spent time with or properly stayed with his family. I don't know what they are like. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous right now.

Nicholas said he married me because of his mom, but he put up all those facades just to make it look real. What if it's the same with his parents? Honestly, I can't describe how I feel. I shook my head, shrugging off the thought of them not liking me.

Time is running out; if we are about to go and I'm not yet ready, Nicholas wouldn't like it for sure. I have already taken my shower as I begin to explore every nook and cranny of the wardrobe.

I needed to wear something that would look sexy and appealing, at least to catch Nicholas's glance! Tch, he won't fall for me? Well, we will see about that. I took out a black dress as I hummed songs.

Running my eyes through the dress, it had a backless design; it wasn't really my thing, so I placed it back. I kept on repeating the same process; I was almost getting frustrated before my eyes came to a beautiful turtleneck knee-length red dress.

Made of tiny hands and luxurious silk. I took it out, admiring the beauty of the dress. I flipped it over, checking it out. “Perfect …..” I muttered with a warm smile. I didn't waste any more time as I wore the dress. I stared at the mirror with a steady grin.

The dress gave me everything I wanted; it highlighted my hourglass figure and also showed my sexy shoulders. I let out a sly grin and took a seat to do a little makeup on my face. I wasn't an artist, but I know how to make myself look gallant and beautiful.

I packed my hair into a ponytail after the makeup, and without wasting much time, I wore my heels, took my diamond pause, and stepped out to meet Nicholas. I should let him know I'm ready for the dinner. I walked down the hallway to Nicolas’s room.

His room wasn't in any way far from mine; it was just three or five metres away. I was about to place a knock when my eyes caught him adjusting his tie since his door was a little open and I could see what he was doing.

He adjusted his tie as everything replayed in slow motion for me. He was so damn cute. I couldn't even knock again. I stood there, staring at him with longing eyes. My eyes darted over to his trousers; that baby between his legs was staring at me.

I won't mind having them in my mouth, just like that night we met. It tasted so delicious and nice. As I stood there, lost in thoughts, the memories of that night came flooding back. I couldn't help but envision his hands on my skin, which sent shivers down my spine.

I wanted him, and I wished we could have each other. My eyes fluttered closed, getting lost in the fantasy and anticipation. Just as I was getting swept away, a voice came through, shattering my illusion.

“What are you doing?” It asked, and I got startled, forcing my eyes open in shock and embarrassment. My gaze locked, with Nicolas staring at me in disdain. The embarrassment was so heavy that I stumbled backwards and missed my steps.

About to crash onto the hard floor, Nicolas gripped my waist, helping me back to my feet. We stayed in that position for a while, staring at each other speechlessly. “Becoming a stalker now?” Nicholas asked, breaking the silence.

His upper lip curled into a sneer as he let go of my waist. "Mmmmmm.” I cleared my throat, not having anything to say. “I …..” I stuttered. Nicholas didn't bat an eye at me as he shook his head and walked back into his room.

“I'm not!” I echoed, making sure he would hear my voice. “I just came to let you know I was done.” I stressed the last words. Yeah, it was true, but why did it feel like a lie? I snapped my eyes shut, humiliation washing over me as I slowly bit my lips.

He already knew I was drooling over him. What was the essence of the lie? It just made it worse. I hissed and walked downstairs to wait for Nicolas. Of course, he would try to act like he was the most caring husband today.

What an asshole! “Omg! Debra, you are looking so stunning. Gurlllll.” Neymar applauded, snapping me out of my thoughts as a little blush crept into my lips. “Oh neymar. You are exaggerating, but thank you,” I muttered, shooting him a grateful smile.

"Oh, come on, Debra. I'm not in any way. I mean it. Looking like 10/10. No, that's an understatement. 100/10!” Neymar praised me warmly, and I couldn't control the steady smile on my cheeks.

“Thank you!” I exclamied. “Has Nicolas seen you yet?” He whispered, glancing around to make sure he wasn't in space. A disappointing sigh fled my lips as I nodded. Neymar already saw the flat look on my face.

“Oh common, cheer up, Debra. I'm sure he would be begging you one day." He said it convincingly, giving me a smile. “Gossiping about me now, huh?” We heard his voice as we turned our heads to see him standing on the last stair with a cold demeanour as usual.

I haven't gotten over the embarrassment from earlier, as I turned my eyes away, swallowing air down my throat. “Let's go…” Nicholas murmured, taking steps closer to me.

He brought his arms for me to link with him: “Compose yourself; I wouldn't know if mom kept a spy here." He whispered, making me heave a sigh. How long do we have to pretend? How I wish it would turn into something real.

“Fine…” I said it slowly. “Let's go, honey!” I increased the intensity of my voice, making sure everyone in the house heard it. Neymar burst into mocking laughter.

“Relax….” Nicolas muttered with an eye roll. I guess I overdid it as I pressed my lips together. We went outside, and Nicholas even opened the car door for me. Even though he was pretending, a little smile did cross my lips as I stepped into the car.

Neymar entered the room. He was coming with us since it was family dinner. Nicolas quietly drove the car until we got to his family mansion. It took about thirty or forty minutes to drive. Nicolas stepped down and opened the car door for me as I walked down with elegance.

We linked arms and started moving into the family home. We were still walking in, and I heard screams coming from Neymar's direction as he ran and hugged someone.

“Ivan! You came home!” He shouted, and I furrowed my brows. Who was he? My eyes darted to Nicholas to see that he was smiling too. “Yes, I did. I wanted it to be a surprise. The guy grinned, answering the question.

He walked towards me and Nicolas, diving into his embrace. “Hey there, man! I'm home!” He announced this, sharing an embrace with Nicholas. I twitched my lips, not saying anything. I was kind of worried if Debra knew him in the past because I have no idea who the hell he is.

After the greeting with Nicholas, he turned to me. “Debra! I heard you had an accident. I'm so sorry. Thank God you were safe,” he said, and I smiled blankly. “Yes, thank God.” I replied flatly.

“You look more beautiful than ever now.” He complimented me, and I muttered, “Thank you.”

“Look who's here. It's my sons and Debra." We all heard Mrs. Don's voice, Nicholas's mom, as we turned to her. She was walking into the living room with a huge grin. She walked towards us and gave Neymar a hug.

She skipped the Ivan guy; it seems they had already met. She approached us after Neymar. “Debra, you look so beautiful!” She applauded, scanning me from head to toe with her eyes.

“Thank you,” I whispered as she held me by both arms. “Nicolas is so lucky to have you." She spoke with confidence, and I was battling with the urge to voice out that he wasn't.

“I know, right?” Nicolas responded with a pretentious smile, slowly caressing my cheeks. I shook my head in disdain at his pretence, forgetting my deal with Nicolas.

“Are you okay?” Mrs. Don quickly showed her concern. I totally forgot that they were all staring.

“I'm feeling a little pressed; can I use the restroom?” I spoke out, finding an excuse right away.

“Sure. It's on your left. Hurry up. We will be waiting for you at the table,” Mrs. Don said, pointing her hands in the right direction. I needed to breathe in and out and compose myself, or else my emotions might get ahead of me and ruin everything.

I walked away and found my way into the bathroom. I kept my pause and stared at myself in the mirror. “Compose yourself, diamond,” I warned myself while staring at the mirror.

I was still inhaling deep breaths as I felt someone slowly grip my waist from the back, hugging me. My eyes widened, unable to fathom who it was.

“I have missed you so much, Debra. How is our baby?” He asked, and I flinched. 'what baby?

Diamond's POV“What baby?” I wondered, It was a male voice, and I hadn't seen his face properly. I quickly whirled around to catch a glimpse of Ivan! What the hell did he just say? I was still tongue-tied as he pulled me into his chests, hugging me warmly. “I'm sorry you had to go through that accident with our baby. I'm back for you now,” he said, confusing me more. Now, pretending to be Debra was becoming harder than I thought. Everything was sounding weird in my ear, and it was happening so fast for me to digest. I pushed him off me, disentangling myself as he stumbled backwards. “I have no idea what you are talking about. Who... are you?” I stuttered. “Debra. I have really missed you. Let me touch you. It's been over one month! No one is going to see us here, okay? Don't be scared." He said it calmly, and my heart began pounding in my chest. He leaned in, pulling my jaw closer for a kiss. “Stay away from me!” I yelled as I stomped on his feet with my heels, quickly taking the

Diamond’s POVHe stepped into the room like he owned the place. He was still in the black suit he wore earlier today. I cleaned up the little tears on my cheeks. Nicholas reeked of alcohol. “Have you been drinking?” I asked. His eyes were cold. “Don't ask me a stupid question, woman.” He said. “What are you doing?” He asked me. “Well, I…”“Nevermind. That's not important. We are going to have dinner with my family at home this weekend.” He said. I nodded. “Okay.” He looked around the room, his brows furrowed. “Is anything the problem?” I asked him. “Good night.” He said that and walked away. I was worried about the way he treated me, but what I was currently worried about more was the type of life Debra led. I checked out what was written about me online. “FAILED ACTRESS BAGGED THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MAN.” “IS DEBRA BACK IN THE ACTING WORLD?” “DEBRA AND HER HUSBAND THREW EMMA OUT OF A MALL.” Different titles of articles and blog posts were everywhere. This made me raise my brows.

Diamond’s POVI turned to come face-to-face with Nicholas. He wrapped his hands around me protectively, making me temporarily forget that he was the one who didn't want me at home.“Are you okay?” He asked. His voice is calm. I steadied myself on the floor. “Yes.” The crowd mumbled upon seeing us together. “What's going on?” “Isn't that the most wanted man in all of Los Angeles? He is successful, too. Why is he with her? A failed girl?” “I have to call my mom. I'm going to faint from so much handsomeness oozing from him. Quickly make videos of him.” I never knew Nicholas could have so much effect on the crowd. Just how popular was this man I married? And how rich was he? I know he was from a wealthy family, but I never truly knew how wealthy he was.“Who are you? And how dare you touch her?” He asked the girl in front of us. The girl now had her mouth slightly opened and her eyes pinned on him. She couldn't find the right words to say. "Oh, you can’t speak now, right? How dare yo

Nicholas’s POVI swallowed, then turned and gave the maids a look. They bowed and quickly scurried out of the dining room. I didn't want them to see or hear me having any kind of conversation with Debra. “I gave an order,” I said, trying to sound calm, but my racing heart just couldn't. I hate it when my instructions are ignored. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I just wanted to...“Wanted to what? It’s an instruction so hard to deal with. I'll be having a long day at work, and the least you should do is try to mess up my morning.” I said.“No. I just wanted to make sure you are well fed.” She said, “What is it to you that I am well-fed or not?” I asked. I was already clenching my fist. “Or do you mean I had not been well fed before you came?” I asked, narrowing my eyes. She shook her head. “That's not what I meant.” She said, “Then what did you mean?” She was quiet. “Tell me, Debra, what do you mean?’ I asked, and my voice raised a bit over the top. She trembled, and I gritted my teet

Nicholas’s POVHer nerve to use such a sharp voice. She was already showing her true colors. If she thought I would condone her rude behaviour, she was wrong. I was busy at the office when Neymar called. “What up?” He asked. I swept my eyes over the files scattered on my table. “Nothing much,” I replied. “I just dropped Debra off at her parents’ house.” He said. I didn't care if he did or not. “So?” I asked. “Can you stop being so indifferent?” He asked. “How am I being so indifferent?” I was wearing round-rimmed glasses, and I stared at my laptop, quickly connecting the call to my earphone.“You know what I am talking about. You drove her out of your call earlier today.” He said. “Did she rant to you?” I asked. “No. I saw her get out of your car. And I know what you did once I see her face.” He said. I massage my temples, already feeling a headache building. “Can we talk later if you have nothing else to talk about?” He asked. “Fine. Let's talk in person.” He said. I returned to
