Se connecterGabriella's POV
In one swoop I was in his arms as he walked towards a different door. I helped him open it and there was an inner room with a more simple yet luxurious decor. He dropped me on the bed, towering over me as he threw his shirt to a corner of the room and then his hands moved to his belt. I moved my hands to my side, trying to get my dress zipper open, just for him to grab my hands in a tight grip. "Don't." His voice was deep now and husky. "I'll peel every piece of clothing off you with my own hands." I gulped but the force in his voice heated my body in more ways than one. I rested back and the now shirtless man crawled over me, taking my lips in a fierce hold. "Tigrotta." He kissed his way down my neck. "Do you know my name?" "Huh?" My head was already foggy, the sensations paired with the dim light and the warmth of his skin leaving me a little brain dead. "I asked if you know the name of the man that is going to take you to heaven and back." I felt pressure at the side of my dress He ripped it. The zipper. "Ahh—" I tried sitting up only to get pushed back down. "What did you do that for?" He ignored me completely, carefully unhooked the straps at my shoulders and peeled the dress away like he was unwrapping something fragile and valuable. There was no rush in his hands. No urgency. Just deliberate, unhurried reverence that made my chest tighten in a way I hadn't expected. Davis had never once looked at me like I was worth slowing down for. I shoved the thought away as quickly as it came. "I probably should have asked your name before I jumped into your arms." I laughed awkwardly as the dress slid off completely, leaving me in my wine lace bra and matching barely-there panties. He leaned back. Just looked at me. His gaze dragged slowly over the curve of my breasts pushed up by the lace, down to the thin fabric barely covering me, then swept across my thighs. His chest rose and fell heavier. A low sound escaped his throat — hunger and something close to reverence — and heat flooded my cheeks even as a curl of smug satisfaction twisted in my core. He was captivated. By me. Just me. "Mariano." He said after a long beat. "My name is Mariano." I played with it on my lips and let a slow smirk form. "Now I have a name to scream." His mouth curved into something predatory before he lowered himself over me again. His kiss this time was slower. Deeper. His tongue slid against mine with deliberate strokes as his hands roamed up my sides and cupped my breasts through the lace. He squeezed gently, thumbs circling until my nipples hardened, then tugged the cups down and bent his head to take one between his lips. "Mariano—" The word came out breathless. He was unhurried and thorough, switching sides, his mouth warm and patient while pleasure sparked straight through me. Every pull of his lips sent heat pooling between my thighs. I threaded my fingers into his hair and held him there, not thinking about Davis, not thinking about Vegas or contracts or any of it. Just this. Just him. He kissed down my stomach, hooked his fingers into my panties and eased them off slowly until I lay completely bare. He settled between my thighs, his broad shoulders nudging them wider, and traced one finger along my center. I gasped. "So ready for me, Tigrotta." His voice was low as he slid one finger inside, then two, curling them in a way that made my back lift off the sheets. His thumb worked slow circles against my clit, pressure building and building until I shattered around his hand with a cry I couldn't have swallowed if I tried. He gave me only a moment before his mouth replaced his fingers. I gripped the sheets. His tongue was unhurried and devastating, learning me like he had all the time in the world while I came completely undone against his lips. By the time he rose up and shed the rest of his clothes I was trembling and boneless and entirely sure I had lost my mind. He positioned himself at my entrance and met my eyes. "Look at me." I did. He pushed in slowly, inch by inch, and the stretch burned sharp enough to make me wince and dig my nails into his shoulders. He stopped. Completely still. He kissed my lips. Then my jaw. Then the curve of my neck, murmuring my nickname against my skin like a low steady anchor while he waited. No impatience. No pressure. Just him holding himself in check entirely for me. The ache softened gradually into fullness. Into something that made my breath hitch for an entirely different reason. I pushed the thought away but it left something behind — a quiet reckless gratitude that had nothing to do with revenge anymore and everything to do with the man above me who had asked twice if I was sure. "Mariano." His name came out soft. Permission and plea at once. He began to move. Long slow strokes that dragged against every sensitive place, his hands pinning mine above my head as he found a steady rhythm. The coil built low and tight and I wrapped my legs around his waist pulling him deeper until the tension crested and broke, my whole body clenching as I cried out his name into the dim room. He pressed his forehead to mine, both of us breathing hard. After a moment he shifted, turning me gently onto my stomach with firm hands at my hips. "On your knees, Tigrotta." The new angle was overwhelming. Deeper. His hand reached around to work my clit as he moved and I stopped thinking entirely — no Davis, no parents, no contracts, no Vegas — just Mariano's low groan against the back of my neck and the pleasure pulling me completely under until I shook through one final release, gasping his name into the pillow. He followed shortly after, pulling back and spilling against my skin with a rough exhale before collapsing beside me and pulling my spent body into his arms. The room was quiet. My whole body felt liquid and warm. "Tigrotta." "Mm?" His thumb traced idle circles on my shoulder. "You alright?" I stared at the ceiling, chest still rising and falling. A laugh slipped out before I could catch it — soft and a little disbelieving. "Ask me again in the morning." I felt him smile against my hair.Gabriella POV Raphael was quiet for a very long moment. He looked at my face, processing the depth of my isolation. Then, he stood up from the bed, reached his hand deep into the front pocket of his pants, and pulled out his leather wallet. He opened the wallet, pulled out a solid black credit card, and held it out toward me."What is this?" I asked, staring at the plastic card in his hand."It is my personal credit card," Raphael said firmly. "I want you to leave this house today. I want you to go out into the city. Go shopping for clothes. Buy something very nice for yourself. Eat lunch somewhere expensive and nice. Do something today that is entirely for you and no one else.""Raphael, I cannot take your money," I said, shaking my head and pushing his hand away."Yes, you absolutely can," Raphael insisted. He grabbed my right hand, placed the black credit card directly into my palm, and folded my fingers tightly over it. "You desperately need to get out of this dark house. You nee
Gabriella POV I woke up and did not move a single inch. My body lay completely flat against the soft mattress. I kept my eyes fixed on the ceiling. The morning light was shining brightly through the small gaps in the bedroom curtains, casting long yellow lines across the wooden floorboards. The entire house was completely quiet. Through the closed glass of my window, I could hear the high-pitched chirping of birds sitting in the trees outside. A few seconds later, I heard the distant, steady sound of a car driving slowly past the front gate of our property. Everything outside my bedroom was entirely normal. Everything in the neighborhood was peaceful and ordinary. But I did not feel peaceful at all. I felt completely hollow inside my chest. I felt entirely empty.I rolled over onto my side, reached out my hand, and grabbed my cell phone from the top of the wooden nightstand. I unlocked the screen and called Mariano. He answered the call on the very first ring."Gabriella," Mariano sa
Gabriella POV "That is completely insane!" I yelled, standing up off the couch. "That is the most insane, twisted plan I have ever heard in my entire life!""It is proper strategy, Gabriella," my father said, standing up to face me. "It is thinking several steps ahead. It is protecting yourself from future harm."My hands were shaking so hard I had to clench them into fists. "I cannot do this. I cannot lift a finger to help the monster who tried to destroy my life.""Then you are making a massive mistake," my father said. "A very big mistake."I turned my body away from him and began walking rapidly toward the doorway."Gabriella!" my father's sharp voice rang out through the quiet room. "I am saying all of this strictly for your own sake. I am not saying it because I have any affection for Davis Castillo. I am saying it because I love you more than anything."I stopped walking right at the edge of the doorway, but I did not turn back around to look at his face."I love you too, Dad,
Gabriella POV The living room was completely quiet when I walked back inside the house. My father was standing directly by the large glass window with his back turned to me. His hands were clasped tightly behind his waist and his shoulders were rigid with tension. He did not turn around or shift his weight when my footsteps echoed across the floorboards as I entered. "Sit down, Gabriella," he said. His voice was low, flat, and thoroughly tired. I walked over and sat down on the soft fabric of the couch. My hands were trembling violently in my lap. I pressed my palms flat down against my knees to force them to stay steady. My father turned around slowly on his heels. His face was entirely pale and his eyes were dark and heavy with fatigue. He looked like a man who had been carrying an unbearable weight on his back for a very long time. "I know you are extremely angry with me right now," he said, taking a step toward the center of the room. "I know you think I am actively betraying
Gabriella's POVMy cheek was still red when I walked through the front door of my parents' house. The sting had faded but the anger had not. I could still feel Denica's hand against my skin. I could still hear her voice calling me a whore.Raphael was in the living room. He looked up when I walked in and his face changed."What happened to your face?" he asked."Davis's mother slapped me."He stood up fast. "She what?""She slapped me. At the office. She said I framed Davis. She said I destroyed her son's life."Raphael's hands were clenched into fists. "I am going to—""Sit down." My voice was tired. "I do not want to talk about it.""Gabriella—""I said I do not want to talk about it."Raphael sat down. He was still angry. I could see it in his eyes. But he did not push.I walked past him and went to my room. I closed the door and sat on the edge of my bed. I pressed my hand against my cheek. The skin was still warm.My phone buzzed. Mariano."Are you okay? I should have stopped her
Gabriella POV I stared at Rodrigo in total shock. "You are sitting here asking me to lie to a judge.""We are asking you to tell the real truth," Rodrigo demanded firmly."I have been telling the absolute truth from day one!" I said loudly, standing up from my chair so quickly it scraped hard against the floorboards. "The truth is that your son tried to ruin my life! The truth is that he paid money to hire armed criminals to attack me! The truth is that he wanted his own uncle dead on the highway!""Gabriella, listen to reason—" Denica started."No!" I yelled, cutting her off completely. "I will not lie to protect him! I will not stand in a courtroom and pretend that he is an innocent victim! He chose to commit those crimes, and now he needs to face the severe legal consequences!"Denica stood up from her chair so fast her knees slammed into the edge of the table. Her face turned a blotchy, dark red with sudden rage. "You are a liar! You are a cold, manipulative, scheming liar!""Den
Gabriella's POV"—and then Darius came along to claim the proposal but I beat him to it and got the patent." Davis droned on"Nice." I said half-heartedly "Nice? I just told you how I worked hard during my travels and all I get is 'Nice'?" He turned to me annoyed that I was fawning over him like b
Gabriella's POVI woke up to a knock. Groggily I tossed around the bed, swinging my arm to the space beside me. I patted it twice but didn't feel the figure that should have been there.I opened my eyes to see an empty room. Where was Mariano? The knocks came again. I sat up searching for my dress
Gabriella's POV "Excuse me?" His voice snapped me out of my daze. "Huh?" I looked up at him. God he was more handsome up closer. His eyes were deep like whirlpools slowly dragging me in. "I believe you must be in the wrong place." He said, his voice was deep but the sound slid through m
Gabriella's POV"You have no idea how irritated I am by her presence. She's just sexy visually. A fucking prude." Davis, my fiancee, groaned.I stood by the door, visibly frozen in place. The little basket of hand made snacks felt heavy. Was he talking about me? It couldn't be."No way dude," Kevin
