Xander didn’t loosen his hold right away. His arms stayed firmly around her waist, as if he was afraid she might vanish the moment he let go.

Slowly—almost reluctantly—he pulled back just enough to see her face. His hands remained on her arms, warm and steady, grounding her in a moment she wasn’t prepared for.

“Marga…” he breathed out, his voice low and rough around the edges.

Her heart lurched—one hard, traitorous thump that almost made her knees weaken. She tried to keep her expression sharp, irritated even, but her body betrayed her with a faint tremble she hoped he didn’t notice.

His nearness was overwhelming; the heat of his touch lingered, seeping through her skin like a memory she wasn’t ready to revisit.

He searched her eyes, and for a split second she forgot to breathe.

Her pulse drummed in her ears—steady, loud, impossible to ignore.

“I wasn’t ignoring you,” Xander murmured, thumbs unconsciously brushing her arms. “I wasn’t…. I just—”

His jaw tightened, like he was

  • One Night Stand With The Billionaire   One Hundred Seven

“Princess?” malambing nitong tawag.

“I’m not interested in whatever story you’re trying to sell, Ms. Pebbles,” Marga said evenly, her voice calm but firm. The question sounded innocent—but there was a deliberate edge beneath it. A subtle poke. A test. She wanted to see how far Pebbles would go… and how much control she herself could keep without crossing the line. Pebbles’ brows snapped together. Her eyes narrowed, sharp and calculating, lips pressing into a thin line before curling upward again. Anger flashed across her beautiful face—raw, unmasked. She lifted her chin and slowly looked Marga up and down, head to toe, like she was assessing something beneath her. “Miguel would never allow me to do work for him, bitch,” Pebbles shot back, her voice dripping with confidence and sarcasm. She took a step closer, invading Marga’s space just enough to assert dominance. “Careful with your expectations,” she continued mockingly. “You might hurt yourself.” Her

“Tell me, Miguel, is she the reason why we had to travel here the moment the sun rose?” “Marga,” mahinahon ngunit may bigat ang pagkakasabi nito ng pangalan niya, “can you step out for a moment? I need to talk to her… alone.”

Xander rested his chin lightly on top of her head, his arms firm around her as if anchoring himself. “If I had my way,” he continued quietly, voice low and honest, “I’d keep you where I can see you every morning. Every night. No distance. No countdowns.” “But I won’t,” he said quietly, eyes never leaving hers. “This isn’t about possession. It’s about knowing when to step back and let you live the life you’re building, babe.” Naramdaman ni Marga ang biglang pag

She opened her mouth, but no words came out. Instead, she closed her eyes and let out a slow, shaky breath—like surrendering to a feeling she still didn’t know how to name. When she opened them again, Xander was already close. Too close. His handsome face hovered inches from hers, his gaze dark and unreadable, before his warm lips brushed against hers—soft, careful, almost reverent. The way he kissed her felt like claiming, yet holding back at the same time. Slow. Measured. As if he was memorizing her rather than taking her. After a few heartbeats, he pulled back just enough for their lips to remain barely touching. “I don’t want to ruin your lipstick, babe,” he murmured between their breaths, his voice low and controlled. “Wait for me here… I’ll take a quick shower first.” Before she could respond, he kissed her again—this time deeper, heavier with craving and longing—Marga instinctively grabbed his side for support as her knees weakened beneath her—then slowly pulled aw
