Levi grunts Cassie’s name as he thrusts into her.

Cassie moans passionately, raking perfectly manicured nails down his back, both of them laughing right before they start kissing again, and then soon it’s back to grunting and laughing.

Levi bites out hoarsely as he lifts Cassie’s legs, “You feel so good, Cassie. So good. You feel better than anything I've ever had around my cock.”

Cassie grins, panting, “I’m the best. Even better than Lyra, aren’t I?”

I close my mouth with my hand to hold back the sob that threatens to force it’s way out. More tears roll down my cheeks and I almost shriek when I feel someone behind me, but I quickly remember it’s Christian, and his question still hangs in the air between us.

Bust him or leave?

Right now, something more profound than pain is running through me.

Something larger than any other kind of hurt I have ever felt in my life.

There’s nothing I can think of that allows this to make sense to me…. I’ve known Cassie for half my life…. Levi is the

When I step out the doors to the main college building, I see Estel is waiting outside under a tree, an obviously worried look on her face. When I approach her I realise she’s holding onto her phone a bit tightly. Her eyes catch mine but her tone is a bit glum as she asks, “Did Dean Howard give a judgement in your favour or did Cassie and Levi win this round too?”My mind stutters. What other times could Cassie and Levi have won? Yet the moment I think about it I realize those moments would be too much to count if I actually wanted to.Cassie and Levi have been prominent faces on campus for as long as I can remember, and it seems their prominence and influence reaches even people like the Dean of the University. I want to wonder just how much trouble they must have gotten out of because of who their parents are and the names they bear, but there’s something more important I have to do than wonder.Estel is still waiting for a response, a look of genuine concern in her eyes as she does

As Christian responds curtly to Levi’s questions, an odd feeling of pride starts to fill me.I always used to think Levi worked closely with his brother. The way he seemed obsessed with whatever was going on in Christian’s life made me feel like they worked or existed in the same circles, but the lecture Christian taught made me realize I had it all wrong. The search I made on him confirmed it even further.Levi’s father owns a company which Levi works at, but that company is not in any way close to the real magnitude of the group of companies all under Christian’s management. The company Levi works at is like a drop in the ocean, while Christian is God and he dictates the flow and ebb of each wave, each droplet of water as he controls the sea itself.I chuckle to myself at the comparison. At least Levi already has a job, even if it’s only because of his father. I don’t have a wealthy father and if I do not leave to focus on job hunting, I won’t have a job either.I turn to leave but

It’s like the world stills the moment the words are out of my mouth, and that look of righteous offense on Cassie’s face falls from the implication.A look she has often been the one to cause and describe as pathetic afterward sits firmly now in her eyes as she stares at me blankly.Cassie looks like a deer stuck in the headlights. She looks between me and Levi, who still stands firmly beside her, and then she turns back to me, her eyes searching my face like she’s trying to see what’s inside my head. For a moment, I feel tempted to let her…For a moment, I feel tempted to let her see the emotions behind my eyes whenever I look at her, to let her see the disbelief and disgust, the confusion and pain. For a moment, I feel tempted to let her see the truth, except Levi interrupts and disrupts the moment.“Oh, for God’s sake, Lyra.”Levi’s face is scrunched into an expression of fond but exasperated annoyance, like he can’t believe what he’s just heard but he’s also amused by it.Wearing

Christian’s action immediately debilitates whatever the Dean was about to say. When he stops clapping, I can see a sheen of sweat on the older man’s forehead, and really, that’s what he is—an older man, breaking into a sweat because of a simple action from someone else.Christian’s words are much more damning though, as he speaks, “I don’t have any experience with running a university, but I do have enough experience with dealing with dubious people though, and in this case, Lyra is right. An apology would be an admission of guilt, and since she’s refused to take the guilt being pushed onto her, an apology would be remiss of her.”I hear his words and at the same time I do not hear them. The only thing I can hear is the way he said my name. The way he says my name.Like I’m someone to be respected and cherished.Christian speaks my name tenderly, but the rest of his words have a stony texture to them, “If Cassie believes her thesis was tampered with, then she should be able to state t

His eyes shift repeatedly from Estel to Cassie, and from the way his eyebrows crease in displeasure, I can see he’s torn. The reason isn’t so far-fetched.Cassie is the daughter of famous and influential parents. She probably learned how to be the center of attention from them, and there’s no doubt their wrath is what the Dean is currently worried about. On the other hand is also Estel, the daughter of a man who owns a hotel chain of the best hotels in the city. He’s just as wealthy and influential, if not more.Taking Cassie’s side would mean offending Estel, which could get back to her father. Taking Estel’s side would mean offending Cassie, which could get back to her parents. They’re both risks he is not willing to take… but he wouldn’t be a Dean if he were unable to solve a situation like this. With a simple order, he tries to handle one end of the danger: “Alright. Miss Estel, you can leave.”Estel’s eyes widen in surprise and outrage. She responds almost immediately, “I won’t.

Well, this is awkward…..Estel glares at Levi as he stands at one end of the principal’s office.I stand at the other end with her and between us are two seats, one occupied by Christian and the other by Cassie. I feel my heart race lightly at the thought of what’s probably going to happen here. Why does he always seem to appear only when I’m about to be embarrassed lately?First it was at the anniversary dinner, which wasn’t even a dinner to begin with. He had to save me from being hit by my boyfriend, and then he took me home because my boyfriend left me at the restaurant in the dead of night. Now he’s back. And just like before Levi was putting his hands on me, not hiding the fact that he was going to use his strength to get me to do something I didn’t want to. It almost feels like Christian is always around to help me out… except he’s Christian Storm.I doubt he’s taking out any special time to watch a college student.“Lyra Bennett.” My head snaps to attention at the mention of m
