The sound of a hammer came from the front of the boutique.

Sena glanced up from the papers on her desk. A moment later, someone knocked lightly on the open door.

“Miss Sena?”

She looked toward the entrance. “Yes?”

“One of the workers wants to know if you still want the shelves moved to the other side.”

Sena checked the layout drawing beside her laptop.

“Yes. The shelves should go along the left wall. I want the display area to stay open.”

“All right. I'll tell him.”

“Thank you.”

The boutique was finally beginning to look like itself again.Sena stood in the middle of the room, studying the new display arrangement. The shelves were in place, the walls had been repainted, and most of the furniture had arrived. There were still a few things to finish, but at least she could imagine customers walking through the door again. She moved a dress slightly to the left.“No. That looks better.”“Are you talking to the dress?”Sena turned.Dira stood near the entrance, holding two cups of coffee and wearing a wide smile.“I'm talking to someone who understands me.”“Then you must be having a very lonely conversation.”Sena smiled and walked toward her.Dira handed her a cup.“I brought coffee. I thought you might need it after spending your entire day bossing people around.”“I'm not bossing them around. I'm making sure they do their jobs properly.”“Of course. That's exactly what a boss would say.”Sena took a sip.Dira looked around the boutique.“It looks beautiful. M

The repairs were taking longer than she had hoped, but at least the work was moving forward. She had spent the morning checking the new furniture measurements, answering messages from suppliers, and reviewing the next collection. She had also spent part of the morning looking through old company records. It was not easy to divide her attention between the boutique and her responsibilities at

  • One Year Bride   The Things Left Behind

Sena stared at her phone for the third time that morning. Andreas's words kept playing in her mind. Her father's past. An old connection to the Walters family. And the possibility that the attack on her boutique had started long before she married Dannie. She put her phone down and let out a quiet sigh. There were too many questions, and she didn't know which one she should answer first. "Are you planning to stare at that phone all day?" Dira's voice pulled her out of her thoughts. Sena looked up. Her best friend was standing near the counter, holding two cups of coffee. "Here. Drink this before your brain melts." "How thoughtful." "Of course. I'm a very caring person." "That's debatable." Dira rolled her eyes and placed one cup in front of her. The boutique was still far from normal. Some parts of the shop had been cleaned, but the damage from the attack was still visible. A few shelves needed replacing, and several items had been ruined. Sena had already contacted the r

  • One Year Bride   Nothing Is Hidden

The sight of her ruined boutique still made Sena's chest tighten. Even after the broken glass had been swept into piles and the damaged furniture moved aside, the place looked nothing like the little shop she had worked so hard to build. The front display was shattered, several shelves had collapsed, and dark scorch marks stained part of the wall. It was more than a business to her. It was a piece of her life that she had built with her own hands. “Are you sure you don't want to go home and rest for a while?” Dira's voice pulled Sena out of her thoughts. Sena shook her head. “And leave all this for someone else to deal with?” “You don't have to do everything yourself.” “I'm not doing everything myself. You're here, aren't you?” Dira rolled her eyes. “I'm here because we had an appointment. I didn't expect our meeting to turn into a cleaning operation.” Despite everything, Sena managed a small smile. Dira had arrived early that morning, just as they had arranged. She had been

  • One Year Bride   The Fire Behind The Door

Sena still stood frozen in her spot.Andreas’s words kept spinning in her head. That man knew way too much about her—about her dad, her family's debts, and even about Wendy. And what bothered her the most was that Andreas seemed to know something Dannie had never told her.Your boutique will be torn down tomorrow.Sena took a slow breath. She tried to push away the memory of that meeting, but the harder she tried to forget, the clearer Andreas’s face appeared in her mind."You're daydreaming."Dannie’s voice made Sena jump a little. He was standing not far from her, watching her face with a hard-to-read look."No," Sena answered fast.Dannie raised an eyebrow. "You sure?"Sena nodded, but then changed her mind about staying quiet. There was something she had wanted to ask all along—something they hadn't talked about yet because her mind was distracted by meeting Andreas."Dannie, I want to ask you something.""Go ahead."Sena looked right at him. "What is your plan, really?"Dannie di

  • One Year Bride   His Name is Andreas

"Welcome back!"Dannie's bright smile immediately greeted Sena as soon as she opened the door to their room. The man was sitting reading a book, as if he was enjoying his time leisurely. Without answering Dannie's greeting, Sena immediately threw her bag anywhere. She quickly approached the man and pulled his collar so that Dannie's head looked up at her."You owe me an explanation..."Sena said to Dannie in a low voice. Different from usual, this time Sena didn't grumble or scream in annoyance. She actually looked calm without any expression on her face. Only her eyes spoke. The eyes that were now looking at Dannie with a sharp gaze mixed with a look of disappointment, which for some reason made Dannie's heart feel... hurt? Dannie didn't answer Sena's question. He just stared at the girl's face silently while reaching out his hand slowly and touching Sena's cheek. If usually Sena would immediately avoid his touch while grumbling, this time Sena just kept quiet and let Dannie touch he

There is a wise saying, the most dangerous enemy is not an enemy who attacks you suddenly from the front, but an enemy who attacks you secretly, namely the people closest to you. If other people hurt you on purpose, then it's different from them. They often don't realize that their actions hurt oth

  • One Year Bride   The Story of the Poor Princess (2)

She was 'forced' to enter into the fairy tale of her parents which was very tragic. At first, little Sena didn't understand what was going on with her family. • One Year Bride   The Story of the Poor Princess

There's a reason why Sena doesn't like fairy tales about princesses and princes. Or rather, she hates any story about a love that ends happily ever after. For her, all those stories are unrealistic, because almost all of them end in the beautiful wedding that many people dream of. Without thinking
