Chapter # 23

I was sitting in the meeting hall; thinking.

It was my third week in Pakistan. I had sent divorce papers to Alim as good as a day ago.

He must have received the court notice.

I thought to myself.

Suddenly the door of the room burst open and my worst nightmare came true. In a 100th fraction of a second he was in front of me.

My sympathetic system kicked in and eyes widened at their own accord. The heartbeat accelerated to such an extent that it stopped for a bit.

Before I could blink my eyes, my arm was harshly gripped in his much larger hand and he started dragging me outside.

"What are you doing? Leave me. Everyone is watching," I whispered shouting.

He neither answered me nor left my arm.

Then I decided to take my last chance of escape.

"You are hurting me, Alim."
