CHAPTER 23: Unexpected confrontation

ADELE'S POV

I stared at the brown leather wristwatch I had left on my vanity. I still had it wrapped up in the little box with the pink ribbon around it. After several attempts to discard it failed__as I felt bad to throw it away given how expensive it was, I finally made up my mind to give it to Mira, my sales manager.

Dragging my feet away from the vanity, I walked to my closest and picked out a simple outfit to wear. I still have tons of work at the company and I'm not in the mood to be all dolled up when hundreds of halfmade designs are screaming my name and begging for my attention.

About thirty minutes later, I drove myself to work. Given my personality, I love driving to work myself so I didn't bother hiring someone; except I'm attending a show, gala or the red carpet.

The security at the gate of my company welcomed me respectfully as usual and I stepped out of my car the moment I drove in and instructed one of the guards to park it carefully. I have fleet of cars but of course,
