CHAPTER 42: Words that sting

NARRATIVE

Geraldine was just about to take the elevator upstairs from the first floor_where she'd gone to inspect some newly bought materials, when she heard the sounds of several bikes speeding in the direction of the company's building.

DeLa's Fashion House was located not so far from the highway. The building exterior was partly made of glass but all the windows were made of glass.

When Geraldine heard this sound, she paused on her attempt of using the elevator and immediately retraced her steps, walking in her pencil skirt business wear to take a look outside.

Before she even reached midway towards the exit, several shots were heard in the air making everyone in the building tremble for fear_employees and clients alike.

She immediately tried placing a call to the head security outside.

"Hello Head Security, is everything alright outside?"

"No Ms. It's beyond our control at the moment. These guys outnumber us and they are heavily armed too."

"With guns?"
