JOE’S POV

Her heel slipped. One second, she was upright. The next, she was pitching forward, arms flailing like she was about to dive headfirst into the marble steps.

I moved without thinking, catching her before she hit the ground. My arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her against me, steady and solid.

She froze. I could feel her heartbeat thundering against my chest, see the startled look in her eyes.

“Easy there,” I said quietly, lips twitching. “I know you like making headlines, but breaking your neck on hotel stairs seems a little... extreme.”

Her jaw dropped. Then, her expression snapped into the familiar mask of fury. She shoved me hard, forcing distance between us.

“What are you doing here?” she demanded. “Were you following me?”

I straightened, keeping my tone deliberately casual. “Yes.”

Her brows shot up. "What?”

I shrugged. “You looked like you were walking straight into trouble, so I figured I should just tag along. Clearly, I was right.”

Her nostrils flared. “You’re

Sienna’s POVThe drive back home felt longer than usual. Maybe it was the weight pressing on my chest or the faint smell of antiseptic still clinging to my clothes from the hospital. Visiting Yvette always reminded me why I fought so hard in this industry why I put up with the scandals, the paparazzi, and the betrayals. She deserved someone rooting for her, and if that someone was me, then so be it.But the moment I stepped into my penthouse, my sense of fragile calm shattered like glass.Louis was waiting in the living room with her tablet in hand, her expression tight and unreadable. That was my first warning. Louis never looked like that unless the world was falling apart again.“What now?” I asked, dropping my bag onto the couch with a sigh. She did not answer. She just turned the tablet toward me.Headlines screamed across the screen in bold letters:“Sienna Blaze’s Secret Battle With Cancer?”“Leaked Medical Records Suggest Troubling Diagnosis.”“Hollywood’s Ice Queen Hiding Ter

  • Oops! I HIRED A CEO    Chapter 9

Sienna’s POVThe rug still smelled of alcohol. Every time I passed through the living room, the scent clung to the air rich, sharp, and utterly infuriating. I swear I could almost hear that cork pop again in my head, the glug of my three-thousand-dollar wine spilling across cream-colored fabric.I pressed my fingertips to my temples and tried to breathe, but the more I thought about it, the more my pulse raced. A maid who disinfected rugs with Bordeaux? A PR team convinced he was the key to saving my image? My entire life had turned into some kind of absurd comedy, only it was not funny.I needed space. Away from the rug.... Away from Joe’s pathetic attempt at his job.... Away from Louis’s piercing glares and the PR team’s ridiculous fake-dating plan.If I stayed here any longer, I would lose my fucking mind.So I grabbed my sunglasses, my handbag, and my jacket, and slipped out before anyone could stop me. The paparazzi had been camped outside my building for weeks, but I had my own

  • Oops! I HIRED A CEO    Chapter 8

Sienna’s POVThe sharp smell of alcohol hit my nose before the sound of liquid splashing reached my ears. For a split second, I thought someone had opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate something and i was wondering what was there to celebrate but then I turned and my blood pressure spiked so fast I could practically hear it in my ears.Joe was standing over my rug, calmly tipping the contents of a bottle all over it. My rug.... the handmade, cream-colored rug I had imported from Milan.“What the hell are you doing, Joe?”The words ripped out of me like fire. His face snapped towards me, guilt flashing across his features, but instead of dropping the bottle, he tilted it again like he was mid–science experiment. My eyes widened, and I lurched to my feet. “Stop it! Are you insane?”The room froze. My PR team had been bickering about hashtags and sympathy campaigns, but now they were gaping at Joe like he had grown a second head.Joe straightened slowly, still holding the nearly emp

Joe’s POVThe tray slipped before I could stop it.Porcelain cracked against the hardwood, coffee pooling fast across the floor and the rug. My fingers were still curled in midair, empty and trembling. The room was silent except for the hiss of hot liquid against broken ceramic.Every pair of eyes landed on me.Fake dating. They could not be serious. They could not possibly know what they were asking from me.“I... uh... sorry,” I muttered, crouching to gather the pieces. My voice came out too tight and too fast. The words did not even sound like mine.Louis sighed like I had just added another item to her endless list of disasters. “Forget the coffee. Just... don’t step on the glass.”Easy for her to say. My pulse was jackhammering in my ears. This was not even about the coffee. When I straightened, Sienna’s gaze was already fixed on me. Sharp, Curious and Suspicious. Like she had caught the flicker of panic behind my eyes and wanted to drag it out into the open.I forced a laugh, b

SIENNA'S POV “ Pls calm ..down ma'am, we …the PR team is working on it” Louis said, her voice trembling. I breathed in trying to suppress my frustration. I had expected better from my PR team, the constant rumours about me were unnerving. “ Miss Claire had announced to the internet that the role was hers at first …but you …used your reputation..” “ so, it's her ….” I mumbled, cutting Louis off . My hand tightening around my phone,“ if she thinks that she could take this role away by letting the citizens fight for her, she could try!” I said , my words sizzling with raw hatred. “ Ma'am, actually the director of this movie is ..uhm.. compromised, he asked to meet you in person …he..he sounded …different” Louis said , her voice shaking. My hands went cold , my heart sinking to the pit of my stomach, I swallowed as I tried not to expose my feelings, “ where ..is the meeting scheduled?” “ Tonight, Frinzly hotel” Louis pressed out immediately. I suck in one breath , tonight ?
