Three days before the ball, and I still didn’t have a plan that didn’t end with Estelle in danger.

“Looks like a simple plan at first glance,” Marco said from across my desk, reviewing the security layouts for the venue. “We go in, we get the intel, we leave. Standard operation.”

I’d staged everything for this ball in a single afternoon. Alone.

From blackmailing the politician who’d issue the invitation to Carrie Ashford, to selecting the venue, to ensuring every detail would work in our favor.

Because I went alone, I’d killed three men that afternoon—his security detail—while breaking into his estate. It was completely unavoidable. Then I’d forced an NDA down his throat and literally dictated every word he’d say to Ashford to close the deal over the call.

And then I’d come back that afternoon and let the innocent girl whose life I was complicating suck my dick.
