Thank you all for reading!! I appreciate all of you!
“Wonderful.” I said as I leaned back in my chair. If he thought I was going anywhere until I knew how Jet was doing, he was fucking wrong. My legs were crossed and so were my arms, so when he walked up to me, I was not giving off an inviting vibe. “Let’s go.” “I suggest you sit down and shut up because we are not leaving until Jet is out of surgery and you are not leaving until I am ready to go.” I said through gritted teeth. “Fine, but it will be your ass when the boss is made because you made him wait.” “What will he do? Shoot the daughter of a god? It’s not like that could even kill me.” I said the last part, but come to think of it, I wasn’t sure that was actually true. What would happen if I do die? I mean, Adron doesn’t want me dead, per se. “I wouldn’t want to find out.” He said as he sank into a chair. I didn’t mean to wait here. “What was your name?” I asked. He told me the other guy’s name, but not his. “Dalton.” “What do you know of vampires going missing?” I asked
I stayed behind them as they knocked twice quickly and the third time after a few seconds. Vampires have secret knocks. I found it a little funny and had to work on keeping my face passive. It felt like something out of a horror movie the way the door opened. My ears hurt from the squeaking rusted hinges. However, my breath was taken away when I walked into the foyer. It was massive. They covered the marble floor in a circle rug of red, blue and black. It sat directly under the crystal chandelier that hung from the third story. The second and third story balconies looked over the foyer with grand staircases circling down from each side. Massive painted portraits hung with name placks under them around the walls. “He has been waiting for you.” The butler said. It surprised me to see the butler was human, but when I noticed red marks poking out from his collar, I understood his role. He looked older but still got along okay. The salt and pepper hair made him look more like a silver fo
I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but this wasn’t it. Orpheus was a taller man with his hair in a man bun at the base of his neck. His red eyes really made his very chiseled jaw line pop. Even with being on the skinnier side, he was dressed slightly more in old school than what you would see in a magazine. I had to glance back at Estella. She looked nothing like her father, so she must take after her mother. With long curly hair that went to her butt, it was almost a brownish red. Her petite frame was on display, with a very modern dress. Cassius and Andreas looked like younger versions of their bad but with short hair and more muscle. “I have multiple reports on my desk about a wolf causing a great deal of disturbance around here.” Orpheus took the head seat with either boy on both sides. “I apologize for that. No one would point me to you and instead, tried to kill me after auctioning me off. I don’t exactly take kindly to that… either.” I said, trying to sound polite but firm.
“That would require you to agree to work with witches and wolves in taking down Adron.” “Do you know Adron?” Jet asked, speaking for the first time. Orpheus looked at Jet. His eyes studied him as Jet kept his face passive. “I first met him over 100 years ago. Maybe more like 500. Who knows? After all these years, it blends together. However, I was… entertaining a lady friend at a party and when I went to get us drinks, he stole her from me. Obviously, we disagreed and had many issues but we have put our difference aside. Now, we co-exist decently. I can’t imagine him wanting to kill the vampire species.” “What would it take for me to prove to you that I’m not lying? Allow you access to the vamolves so you can see for yourself? Done. Would you like to fight one? Done. We can take you to some. Would you like to ask Adron himself? I’m sure I can find him easy enough. He is my uncle, after all.” “I like you. You got spunk.” Cassius said, smiling at me. Jet’s chest started rumbling.
“I think I am good.” I said as I looked at myself in the mirror. After showering, I had picked out clothes to wear today. They were comfortable to travel in but still work appropriate. Keeping it simple with a flowy light purple blouse and black dress shorts. Thankfully, they had sandals in my size. “Good. It is almost time to leave.” Jet was buttoning up his white shirt. He picked a loose fitting jeans but still tight enough that I could see his shapely ass. What surprised me was the boots he picked out to wear with it. “This is going to be a long flight.” I said to Jet. “That it will be. I would say try to keep your temper, but that was fucking sexy last night.” Jet came up behind me and slipped his arms around my waist. His lips gently kissed my neck, causing goosebumps to travel down my spine. “Keep that up and we will miss our flight.” I laughed. Knock! Knock! Knock! Jet sighed and walked over to the door. “Hello.” He said as he opened it. “It’s time.” A butler said. “
I was exhausted and my ass hurt from sitting for almost 9 hours straight. Thankfully, it was only that long, but damn, I was antsy to get off this jet. As the jet started to descend, my stomach started to turn. I hated flying. This just sucked. I tried putting my head in my hands and leaned forward that but made it worse. Just closing my eyes made everything spin. The only thing that helped was taking deep breaths and turning on the cool air to full blast on my face. “You look green, Ms. Ivory.” I heard from the side. Looking over, Estella was smiling at me. “Since we are not on your territory any longer, you must ad hear to our rules and that means what we consider disrespectful. You will address me by Goddess Luna or Goddess Ivory since you are not a wolf.” I said as I glared at her. “I will not!” She looked taken aback. “You can either do it because I told you to or I will command you to do it because you are flat out being disrespectful.” “Estella, manners. She is right. We
I had another wave of motion sickness as the helicopter started to basically fall from the sky. This time, I had to cover my mouth with my hand to keep everything down. I had hoped by not eating breakfast that I would handle this better, but I was wrong. “You going to make it?” Justina laughed at me as I bolted out of the helicopter after it landed. My hands were on my knees as I tried to keep what little food I had in me down. “Doubtful.” I responded. We were in a new location than last time. Jet had told me this morning that he had some guys flying over and found a group of them in another cave. I guess they had killed some bears and were hanging around. “I’m not sure how you guys hunt or anything, but as soon as they figure out we are here, they will attack. You might be more adapted to killing them since they are more vampire than a wolf in that aspect.” I said. “I’m looking forward to this!” Cassius rubbed his hands together as he took off, leading us towards the vamolves.
As I stared into Jet’s eyes, the world drifted away. My heart dropped in my stomach as the realization of what Adron meant crashing into me. “This is all your fault.” I was to blame for this. How many creatures did he take with him? How many people are dying right now because of my actions? Are my parent’s alive? Jet stood up and started yelling commands, but I couldn’t hear what he said. It was all a blur. Flash backs of my birthdays and getting dressed up for dances danced in my watery vision. “Ivory! Snap out of it!” Jet grabbed my shoulders and shook me. “W-what?” I asked, looking into his eyes. “We are going to take our plane. I will get the warriors ready. Go get yourself ready to go and get my stuff laid out for me.” I stared at him, trying to comprehend what he was asking. “GO!” Shit. “Okay.” Turning, as fast as my legs could carry me, I ran up to our room and stripped as I did it. “All sections two and three warriors report for emergency attack. You have ten minutes
