“Is anyone there?” She called again and when no one had answered, sure that whoever it was didn’t see her, she took to her heels and sprinted back to her house.

“I feel better now,” she sighed as she got to the house to see Adira seated in the sitting room, “actually hungry too. What’s for dinner?” She asked.

“Dinner is served, ask one of the servants to help out, I have a meeting with the elders.” Adira announced as she stood up, getting ready to leave.

“No, its fine,” Valerie said as she shoved the idea of calling one of the servants, “meeting? What for?” She enquired.

“Just the packs affairs and some of them are afraid we’re in danger, I’m only going to let them know things are under control and there’s no reason to charge at humans like a rabid dog yet.” Adira laughed as she started walking out.

“Oh, wait,” she signaled with her hand in a bid to stop Adira, dropping the bottle of water she was holding, “tell them, I know about their worries and they shouldn’t worry that I’m taking
