Ordained by the moon goddess

Running as fast as her legs could carry her, she looked back to see her captors running after her. All Valerie could think of was just survival, she needed to survive, for her packs. She thought about how the hunters had rendered her almost without a pack and it looks like the moon goddess had forsaken her. Turning to look forward, something hard hit her.

Opening her eyes slowly and breathing heavily as she writhed in pain. Her true identity was revealed and sheʼs being held captive by the wolf hunters.

“I only wanted to bring humans and wolves together, to create peace and harmony.” She said to herself. “Oh guardian of the Aletha pack.” She howled. “This was my purpose, I was born for this. Why?” She cried.

Valerie is the Queen of the Aletha pack, her coming was prophecied and her power vested on her by the moon goddess herself, her birth was unexpected, the prophet had once told her mother she couldnʼt conceive. Born into the Aletha pack has the heir, She was now responsible for the safety of her pack.

SOUTHPAW Coven. Unknown section.

“Aletha Wolfpack would be blessed with a wolf...” The prophet said and Clarissa shook. Clarissa is the Queen of the Aletha wolf pack. He was the same one who told her she wouldnʼt conceive and would be unable to bear a child.

“What are you saying?” She asked. “You had told me I wonʼt be able to bear, why this now?” She added and when the Prophet hadnʼt said a word, her eyes turned red in anger and her voice changed. “What do you think Iʼm a doll to be played with?” She yelled standing up angrily, making everyone present shiver and falling to her feet.

“My Queen.” Adira spoke. “Letʼs hear him out for he bears messages from the moon goddes.” She added and Clarissa gave her a look before she finally calmed, her eye color was back to normal and she had her seat back. She looked at the prophet who was already shaken in fear.

“Speak.” She ordered.

“You will have a pup and she would be powerful...” He continued saying. “... More powerful than you are, my queen, and she will be a greater queen if not the greatest we will ever have. Feared and loved at the same time amongst humans and wolves.” He added and Clarissa lifted her face immediately in another shock.

“Humans?!” She called in disgust. Clarissa had always have a deep hatred for humans for what the humans had done to them in the past, she fumed with anger and had wanted to send the prophet out, she feels he had no idea what he was talking about, she sunk her already revealing claws into her chair in anger.

“Yes.” The prophet answered, the answer made Clarissa angrier as she clenched her jaw. “She would be a great warrior and will bring lots of fortunes to the pack.” He added, Clarissa tried to calm herself and was silent for a while before she finally spoke. The prophecy of her having a child sheʼs been wanting was one that made her happy, but the fact that her child would be among humans from whose reigns they suffered the most made her angry and bitter.

“She wonʼt be like the others..” He continued saying. “She would be given the power to turn whenever she feels like it even before she gets old enough.” He added and there were murmurs in the room, itʼs never possible for a young wolf to turn before they hit puberty or kill.

“If it is ordained by the moon goddess then I am ready to bear the child.” Clarissa declared, standing up and making everyone in the room bow to her.

“That is indeed the will of the moon goddess and the moon goddess herself has given this power and assigned this great job to the child you will bear. It cannot be questioned.” The Prophet finished, turning to leave the room.

Some months later Clarissa took in, the prophecy was coming to pass. She was feeling uneasy when she asked Adira to summon the healer, Adira was always with her even when she isnʼt one of the maids, she came back in with the healer who carried out series of examinations on Clarissa before finally speaking.

“Congratulations, Suprema.” She said, bowing. “Youʼre pregnant.” She added and Clarissaʼs eyes glinted with joy as she got the news of her pregnancy. The news went round the pack and they were happy for her as they celebrated her pregnancy.

***Months Later***

There were howls and celebration amongst the Aletha pack. Clarissa has just had her baby after much difficulty, a child like that was one theyʼve never seen before and when the news got out from the healers that the Suprema has finally added to the Aletha pack a new pup with the help of the moon goddess, the pack celebrated in relief, the first born child is widely always known to be a boy but this was different, she was a girl.

“Congratulations Suprema.” Adira said, bowing. Adira is the Zeta of the Aletha pack, sheʼs the highest ranking warrior in the Pack, she commands and leads their Army to battle with orders from the Suprema. Over the years, they never really had a born Alpha leading them, the Aletha pack has always been led by females who are responsible for marking their own mates and eventually making them stay till whenever, The Alpha is only liable to give orders when the Suprema isnʼt in sight, the Aletha pack has solely been led by Powerful females over the years.

“What will you name her?” Adira asked.

“I havenʼt decided that yet. I will think on it and give her a name as soon as possible.” Clarissa answered and Adira prepared to leave the room for the Suprema to rest. Thinking about what to name her new child, The healer walked in to tend to her.

“How are you, Suprema?” The healer asked, walking in with some silk material to wrap the baby up properly. “Decided the name yet?” She added and Clarissa nodded.

“Iʼm fine. Thank you.” She said. “I shall name her Valerie as she would grow to be strong and fierce and is already blessed by the goddess.” She added with a pleasing sigh and a smile.

Princess Valerie grew up to be a powerful young girl, already showing signs of great powers since she turned 5. The Suprema had a necklace made for her, that was to help suppress her power for a while before she came of age. Her powers were more superior than that of the Supremas ever seen in history.

Valerie had almost killed a child while they were going fake hunting. The kid took something meant for Valerie and as she demanded it, the kid refused. Getting her angry, Valerieʼs eyes turned red and it seemed like sheʼd compelled the kid to stay where she was because the child was unable to move and was almost breaking. All efforts to calm Valerie down proved futile until the Suprema showed up.

“Valerie!” The Suprema yelled in anger, jerking her back to herself and releasing the kid from the spell she was under. “Take her to the healer.” Clarissa ordered and the kid was rushed over to the healer with multiple injuries.

“Iʼm Sorry, Mommy.” Eight Years old Valerie apologized with a look that shows she regretted her actions. “I donʼt know what came over me.” She added.

“You will go to your room and wonʼt come out until I ask you to!” Her mother yelled at her in anger, her eyes also red. Valerie took to her heels as she ran to her room in tears like her mother had said, locking the door behind her Valerie curled up on her bed as she let tears flow freely from her eyes.

“What do I do with Valerie?” The Suprema asked Adira in confusion as she sighed. Asides being the highest ranking warrior in the pack, Adira was the personal adviser to the Suprema.

“Sheʼs becoming too powerful for her age...” Adira started saying. “..And Iʼm afraid she might be unstoppable and uncontrollable when she gets to the peak. Sheʼs just eight and sheʼs already showing off so much power.” She finished, looking over at the confused Suprema.

“I know..” Clarissa sighed. “...We need to find a way to curb her powers for a while, while also teaching her control.” She added and Adira agreed.

After much conversation, Clarissa made her way to her daughterʼs room. She felt she had scolded her too much and she was going to apologize while also deciding to give her the restricting necklace.

“Mother!” Valerie called, sitting up on her bed as her mother opened the door to her room. “Iʼm sorry, Mother.” She added when Clarissa sat beside her. Placing her hand on Valerieʼs hair, Clarissa smiled.

“Itʼs Okay.” She said, pulling her closer. “Come.” She added and when Valerie moved closer to her, she placed the necklace around her neck. “Iʼm sorry too.” She added as she hugged her daughter.

Everything seemed under control until Valerieʼs tenth Birthday got closer.
