My phone vibrated while I was on the road, and I regretted having to pull over after reading who the sender was and what the message contained.

"There will never be the divorce you want. You have to keep taking care of me and Cecilia at home."

Deryl's message made me reflexively throw my phone onto the seat beside me. I look more like a maid now, a caretaker of a big baby who is turning into a homewrecker.

However, I picked up my phone again to reply to Deryl's message. "The contract marriage five years ago—I hope you haven't forgotten." I reminded Deryl again how this marriage started.

Deryl found me at the flower shop as an employee there who was being scolded by my boss. Deryl suddenly spoke up for me, a woman who was also alone like Cecilia, whom he married through a contract five years ago.

As the heir to a famous company, Deryl was pressured to marry, pressured to have a wife who looked smart and authoritative, and also had a clean background.

However, Deryl's act of picking me up from among the hundreds of flower bouquets made me feel more beautiful and lovely than them. I made Deryl my role model and truly fell in love with him until we brought Cecilia with the intention of adding harmony and love, but I ended up suffering.

I glanced at a business card on the car dashboard, my destination not far away. I resumed driving to go there. "Mrs. Reinhard Myer." A bespectacled man greeted me, then invited me into his office.

"What brings the wife of a big businessman here? Everyone knows about you; how could I only welcome you in this way?" The bespectacled man with the name tag Dr. Adams thought too highly of this assistant when she came to his clinic.

"I want to get healed." I'm just getting to the heart of my visit.

As expected, anyone who thinks that being so loved and showered with luxurious facilities could make me happy all the time is mistaken; the truth is, I come here as a patient. We only had a discussion today; it didn't take long, and I was out of his clinic again.

However, when I looked across the street, Cecilia waved at me from her new car. I just remembered she dropped out of school and, with no job, chased me all the way here.

"Did I see that wrong? Mrs. Reinhard came out of a psychology clinic in this small place? Do you feel like you're going crazy?" Cecilia followed me to say that.

"Go home, ungrateful child!" I opened the car door, planning to leave from here.

"How can I stay at home? No one takes care of me and feeds me," Cecilia complained, making me sigh deeply and swear I regretted taking her in.

"You get money from Deryl after sleeping with him, right? Just buy the food you want; don't bother me." And Cecilia, who couldn't accept it, even grabbed my hand when I tried to get back into my car.

"You shameless! You're being paid to take care of me." Cecilia reminded me of my status, which is currently just a paid woman needed for her services at home. Not a wife or a housewife of the Myer family.

"I WAS GIVEN MONEY BECAUSE I AM DERYL'S WIFE!" VERY DIFFERENT FROM THOSE WHO SELL THEIR BODIES TO MY HUSBAND!" My breath quickened, but Cecilia's response was to release her grip from my hand with a look of disgust.

"Ah, I understand why you came here. I hope you get well soon. As a woman, I understand how it feels when your husband no longer wants you." Cecilia left after saying that. She strutted away while playing with her phone and calling someone.

"Hello, darling. Rein has gone crazy; I saw her go to a psychologist, and she yelled at me on the street. " I can still hear that unruly child's voice from afar.

I couldn't hold back my tears, and as I hurriedly wiped them away, I caught Dr. Adams watching me through the glass in his clinic.

Sooner or later, everyone will know this: a thirty-one-year-old woman was cheated on by her husband and their adopted daughter. My life has been shattered since my parents died in an accident, but I only made things worse by marrying Deryl Myer.

I slammed the car door, drove it at maximum speed, and cried my heart out inside the car without anyone knowing.

The desire to make Deryl notice me is impossible; I am old, unlike Cecilia, who is young and fresh, slim without blemish, and maintained with a lot of money.

I lost myself while taking care of Cecilia, making her shine while I forgot to take care of myself. However, my hard work was tasted by my own husband.

My phone rang; a message came in from Cecilia. The message was a screenshot of her conversation with Deryl.

[Honey, tomorrow we will go to Grandma's house. Grandma invited us for dinner. Ah, I forgot, she will be your mother-in-law."] A silly message from Deryl to start the conversation.

[Is Rein going to join? She can go crazy.]

[Of course she has to join. I plan to reveal our relationship. There's nothing wrong; from the beginning you were not my child. My father and mother will surely accept you.]

And I have to prepare myself for the drama that will break my heart even more tomorrow. Before Deryl reveals his relationship, I must first file for divorce in front of all his extended family.

If they are ready to break my heart, then I am also ready to maintain my dignity.

"Damn it, Miss Cecilia is home," Dr. Marin cursed."Change your clothes quickly before Cecilia opens the door." Dr. Adams' voice was heard, asking Dr. Marin to step back for a moment. The sound of the door was heard, along with a rustling sound that I didn't know how happened there."Who's there?" Cecilia's voice sounded again."Ah, I, I've come to offer free treatment for the young lady," said Dr. Marin."What kind of treatment?" Cecilia asked."Free facial and massage." I can't believe how Dr. Marin can also change her voice to be so sweet, as if she's a member of a salon."Don't you know whose house this is? I don't need a free massage; my treatment is more expensive, higher quality, and guaranteed compared to yours." Oh Cecilia, whom we raised to be polite, turned out to be like this behind our backs."I'm telling you, this is the house of Deryl Myer, my husband. I don't need your fake care; please leave." Then a loud crashing sound was heard. It looks like Cecilia was trying to c

  • Our Adopted Child Is A Disaster For Me   Infiltrating Deryl Myer's House

I really don't give myself any time to rest. After the joint plan with Dr. Marin was made, I couldn't stay still. I felt I had to stay awake and think of ways to get my data and quickly go to Milan. It was around eight in the morning, and I was busy looking at Dr. Adams' phone, which he had lent me. I saw a video of myself that went viral on the internet. It seems embarrassing, but I was surprised by the netizens' responses in the comment section. The video has also been viewed by hundreds of millions of people and became the number one trending topic in the UK.Some comments made me excited, as if I had friends to fight Deryl and his family, including our damn Cecilia."I didn't expect Deryl Myer to ruin the reputation he's maintained so well all this time. He even married his own daughter; he should be boycotted.""I believe what people say, that mistresses are usually no more beautiful than the legitimate wife. Look at Cecilia with a full face of plastic surgery. I'm sure that's th

  • Our Adopted Child Is A Disaster For Me   Infiltration Plan

Dr. Adams and Dr. Marin escorted me to my room, and even to this day, I still feel bad for Dr. Adams, who had to close his clinic just for me."Is it really necessary to close your clinic? Not only am I your patient, but what about the other patients who need you more?" I asked Dr. Adams again."I have already entered your life, along with my promise to help you. Other patients can meet me outside of my working hours here," Dr. Adams said."It can't be like that; forget all your promises, all my requests for your help. Your career is more important than me, and fighting against Deryl is not an easy task. He has money, connections, and power."Honestly, I want someone to help me break free from Deryl's grip, but seeing Dr. Adams sacrifice so much has made me feel uneasy. Indeed, I shouldn't have involved anyone from the start; I should have left Deryl's house without forgetting my phone, ID card, and passport. If I had my passport, I could have gone to meet Benedict in Milan and worked

  • Our Adopted Child Is A Disaster For Me   Hiraeth Hospital

At three in the morning, Dr. Adams' car took me to the place I requested. A hospital named Hiraeth, located far from the city but with extraordinary facilities.Dr. Adams took me inside as if he were very familiar with this hospital. The staff greeted Dr. Adams politely, treating him like an influential person in the hospital."It seems the staff know you and treat you with respect; am I not mistaken?" I asked Dr. Adams as we walked toward the elevator, heading to meet someone."Yes, maybe I'm not a stranger to them. I have a friend who works here; that's my friend." Dr. Adams pointed to a woman in a white coat whom I guessed was a doctor. The hospital courtyard looked deserted, perhaps because we arrived at three in the morning and there were no patient activities. Only the staff, doctors, and security are on night duty. Currently, Dr. Adams' beautiful friend is also chatting with the staff, not noticing our arrival."Dr. Marin?" Dr. Adams called the beautiful doctor. When she turned

  • Our Adopted Child Is A Disaster For Me   Looking For Hiding Place

"I want to help you, but this clinic is no longer safe. Fortunately, I was still able to distract Deryl so he wouldn't check the warehouse earlier. Next time, he will definitely come again to check." Dr. Adams recounted a bit of what had happened while I was unconscious."Didn't Deryl hurt you?" I asked, a bit worried that my problem would drag in victims, especially good people like Dr. Adams."We were just defending ourselves. There were no blows that caused serious injuries; this is common for a man." Although Dr. Adams said he was fine, I still looked for signs of fight scars on him."I'm really fine. Even though I am a psychiatrist, I can still heal my own wounds." Dr. Adams seemed to notice my gaze and felt uncomfortable."Forgive my rudeness." I looked down, feeling embarrassed because it might have been an impolite action."It's okay. It's better if we now think of a safe hiding place for you." Dr. Adams offered me a warm drink. I reached for it and drank it slowly."I don't m

  • Our Adopted Child Is A Disaster For Me   Hide And Seek

I went to Dr. Adams' clinic with nothing but myself and a phone. Fortunately, I had some money saved in my clothes, so I could come to the clinic by taxi."Doctor, see? I can go out now." I smiled when Dr. Adams opened the door of his clinic for me.Unfortunately, Dr. Adams' expression was so flat, as if he knew that even though I was smiling because I could escape from there, I was actually not okay."Come in." Dr. Adams gestured for me to enter. At that moment, my expression changed again; I realized I was not okay."So what method did you use to escape?" Dr. Adams asked after ensuring I sat calmly on the guest chair while he went to make a drink not far from where I was sitting."I put on a show at the wedding with a death dress, and I gave a bouquet of flowers to my child with negative and sad intentions. After that, I gave a speech without using the Myer surname behind my name," I said honestly."Then?" Dr. Adams approached me with a cup of hot chocolate."Deryl dragged me in fron
