Three days later, it was the post-wedding celebration and the Preston Group's anniversary gala. After some discussion, both the Preston family and the Middleton family decided to host the two events together.

However, no one expected things to spiral out of control. Micah showed up at the press conference with a group of reporters and publicly accused Elijah of seducing Skylar and stealing his fiancee.

In an instant, the reporters swarmed Elijah with mics and cameras. The scene turned into chaos.

Before Elijah could rise to speak, I stepped forward to face the reporters myself. "The alliance between the Prestons and Middletons is entirely legitimate. He wanted to marry me, and I wanted to marry him.

"We filed the paperwork like any other couple. So where exactly does the idea of Elijah 'stealing me' even come from?"

I glanced across the room. "I suggest everyone choose their words carefully. The Preston Group's legal department won't take slander lightly."
