Finley's POV

It's been three days and I swear I've talked to Colt every two hours. I was done laying in this bed. I needed to see him. Kennedy had finally left my side. She had been stuck to me like glue. Konner had gone back and forth when one of us was sleeping.

I slowly moved myself to the edge of the bed and stood up. I had been allowed to get up and use the bathroom, but that was it. Now that I was alone and I know that Konner went with Kennedy to get something to eat, I was going to ta

Konner's POV It's been two weeks since the shooting and I haven't spoken to Kennedy since she basically kicked me out of Finley's room. I screwed up and told her too much too soon and upset her. I didn't know how to handle this situation, but she needed to know the truth. I helped Colt get into the car to take him home. Finley was discharged a week ago and she had spent every hour she could at the hospital but said she wanted to be at home to surprise him when he got there. We had been staying with her at their house, and it was tense to say the least. "Put my old man walker in the back," he said as he got into the car. I was surprised at how quickly he has healed up. I know that he was still in pain daily and would be for a while, but he was on the mend. I got into the driver's seat and took off from the hospital. Somewhere I didn't want to be for a very long time again, if ever. "Thank you, man. These last two weeks have been hell, and I don't know if Finley and I would have

Kennedy's POV I paced outside the waiting room. Both Finley and Colt were in surgery. It was taking everything inside of me to not throw up everywhere. I was really focusing on them being OK. Finley jumped in front of that gun and saved me from being shot. I wish she wouldn't have. I would have done the same for her but now she is in surgery, and I don't know if she is going to be OK or not. "Would you sit down? You are going to wear a hole in the floor." Konner snapped at me. "Would you shut the hell up?" I snapped right back at him. I wanted to hate him, but I couldn't. I had gone and caught feelings. I knew he didn't feel the same way. He had made it clear that he really hated me but one drunk night we slept together and well we've been doing it ever since. That was six months ago. That is all it was ever supposed to be, but it was never that for me. I swear this man had a hold on me since the first time I met him and that was new for me. I didn't know how to handle those feel

  • Out Of Bounds   Chapter 66

Colt's POV ***6 Months Later*** I walked around the basketball court in the house. Tonight was finally the night. I had put this off for so long. Things had been turned upside down and Finley was so focused on our healing that she didn't leave time for much else. She’s done research on the best therapist, and the team also helped with that as well. Even though I was never making a comeback, they helped me the entire time. Alicia was sentenced to twenty years and Finley's mom got five. It was nice to never have to worry about them again. The trial didn't take long. Once they were able to get into her apartment, it was like a damn shrine to me and taking out Finley. "Colt, this better be worth this damn trip down these god forsaken stairs," Kennedy yelled as she waddled down the stairs. "Yes, I need your help down here." I yelled back at her. Finley was at practice and Konner was doing some promotional things for the team. He was determined to not sign a new contract, but I got

I had been allowed to get up and use the bathroom, but that was it. Now that I was alone and I know that Konner went with Kennedy to get something to eat, I was going to take my chance. I grabbed my IV pole and leaned against it and slowly made my way out of the room. I looked down the hallway and made sure that no one was around and slowly crept down the hallway. I was told his room was right next to mine. I slowly pushed the door open and could hear the television on. I had tried to ignore whatever was being said. All I cared about was the fact that we were both alive and she would be sitting in prison for a very long time. "What the hell are you doing out

Colt's POV I stood there holding Finley up. Her arm was soaked in blood, and she was losing it quickly. My heart was beating so fast. I was so scared that I was going to lose her. "Alicia, put the gun down and you and I can leave together. I will leave Finley right now and we can be together," I lied, hoping that she would just put the gun down. "No, I don't believe you. You'll never leave her. I have to get rid of her," she yelled. I felt Finley stiffen in my hold. "We can't be together if you kill her. You'll go to prison." "No." I had to think of a way to get Finley out of here. I could hear sirens in the background and Kennedy crying. Konner was trying to hold her back. He needed to get her the fuck out of here, but I couldn't take my eyes off Alicia and that damn gun. I could feel Finley getting weaker, and there was a giant pile of blood at our feet. I needed to apply pressure to her arm, but I was afraid she would scream, and that would set Alicia off. I only had one

  • Out Of Bounds   Chapter 63

Finley's POV Coach had just finished giving us her pep talk, along with Chrissy. I wanted to go ask her how Colt was doing but that would seem like my mind wasn't in the game and it is but it's also with him. I leaned against the back of my chair and sucked in as much air as I could. I wasn't out of breath, but it felt good to expand my lungs like that. My body was already sore. When I looked over at Kennedy, she didn't look very good. I grabbed some water and went over to her and handed it to her. "Are you OK?" "I'm good." "You don't look good." "I promise I'm fine. I just need to rest for a minute." "Well, your minute is up, because we have to go back out there and win us a title." She smiled at me and I held out my hand. She grabbed it and pulled her up. We headed back out to the court and shot the ball around for just a few minutes before the buzzer went off again signaling the last half of the game. Kennedy threw the ball inbounds to me. We got control of it since they
