With a heavy heart, Nadine reluctantly came to terms with the fact that her father had chosen to give her away to Kael. This man, Kael, was a complete stranger to her. She did not even mind if the rumors she heard were mere gossip, as long as there was some truth to them. Unfortunately, the belief about Kael was that he was a despicable person.

As the weight of her father's decision settled upon her, Nadine found herself torn between a whirlwind of emotions. The mere thought of mating someone she knew so little about filled her with a sense of foreboding, like a dark cloud looming over her future. Anxiety and apprehension filled her thoughts, creating a storm of doubt that raged in her mind.
