Chapter Seven

Olivia felt a chill run down her spine as Edward's voice grew louder and more menacing. She knew that he was angry, and she didn't want Marcus to be caught in the middle of their argument.

"Marcus, I think it's best if you go now, it’s getting late," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.

Marcus looked at her, concern etched on his face. "Are you sure? Don’t you need me to stay?"

Olivia shook her head. "No, it's okay. I'll be fine. I just need to have some work to do and I need to be alone for that."

“Is that really the problem? You seem very nervous,” Marcus asked.

“No, I am fine. No need to worry,” she assured him.

Marcus hesitated for a moment, but then he nodded. "Okay. Just be careful, okay?"

Olivia smiled. "I will. Thank you."

As Marcus left, Olivia turned to face Edward. She could see the anger in his eyes, and she knew that she was in trouble.
