(Vivian’s POV).

"I'll take you home, Vivian."

Kai's voice sounded soft yet firm, as if he didn't accept rejection. I just nodded slowly, still feeling the chill of residual fear shivering on my skin.

On the way home, he didn't say much. But the silence between us wasn't emptiness, but a soothing calm. It was as if his very existence was a refuge.

When I arrived at my apartment, Kai opened the door and let me in first. He followed, then without being asked, immediately went to the kitchen and poured me a glass of water.

"Drink this first," he said, thrusting the glass into my hand.

I stared at it, then accepted it with hands that were still a little shaky. But Kai's calmness made me slowly relax.

"Thank you," I said with a weak smile.

Without speaking, he took the first aid kit from the shelf near the refrigerator, then sat down in front of me.

"Let me check your wound."

I nodded slowly. Kai touched my arm very carefully, applying antiseptic on the small scratch I had received while tr

(Vivian’s POV)He scoffed when I opened the door and told him to leave, especially when I said, “See you in court.”But I didn’t care. Not anymore.I no longer had any affection for him.My love was gone. Completely. And I didn’t want it back—not for a man like him.“Bastard,” Adrian hissed, his jaw clenched, his eyes wild and burning with rage. His breathing was erratic, as if he had just suppressed an explosion of anger. He then stood and walked out of my office, but not before pausing for a few seconds to look at me.“You know, you're the cheapest woman I've ever met,” he spat.Unfortunately for him, those words didn’t sting at all.Because I knew I wasn’t what he claimed. I knew exactly who I was.“Well, you're free to say whatever you want.”“Ck! You’re not even as innocent as I used to know.”Behind his tall figure, Martha stood frozen. Her eyes widened as she saw me standing there like a statue.“Go, Adrian. Face the truth.”“You played with me, Vivian!”I sighed and crossed my

(Vivian’s POV)"I don’t understand."Kai’s voice sounded flat, slightly confused, his brows furrowed as his eyes fixed on the tiny lipstick I was clutching tightly in my hand. His hands were still on the wheel, but his body was slightly turned toward me, looking at me as if I were speaking a foreign language. He looked like he was trying to remember something about the lipstick. I sensed something must have happened, but whatever it was—screw it—I didn’t care.I was just so disappointed with my own feelings for him."Trying to remember something?" I asked, my tone dripping with sarcasm.I bit my lip, holding my breath before I finally said softly, “I found this… between the door of your car.”Kai looked at the lipstick again, as if he had only just noticed it. His jaw tightened. But there was no surprise on his face—just a faint trace of discomfort.I recognized that expression. He was trying to hold back his emotions or, more accurately, trying not to show me anything.“Do you rememb

  • Owned By My Best Friend's Uncle   CHAPTER 45 - SEX IN THE CAR

(Vivian’s POV)“Ah!”His body pounded into me, uncaring of how cramped the car was. I could even feel the car rocking from the movement. It was wild—too wild—but also too good. I wouldn't lie—I enjoyed having sex with him.Damn it!Despite the limited space, I spread my legs, giving him access to keep moving on top of me.It felt like heaven—something so difficult to put into words. His manhood… it felt so big, hard, and demanding. He pushed deeper inside me, and we truly lost ourselves in the moment.

  • Owned By My Best Friend's Uncle   CHAPTER 44 - I WANT YOU

(Vivian’s POV)“Are we there yet?” I glanced at Kai, who was driving with one hand. His eyes remained focused on the road, but his expression was calm… too calm.Kai only glanced at me briefly before turning back to the road.“Why? Can’t wait, huh?”“I’m just curious,” I pouted and crossed my arms over my chest. “You didn’t tell me where we’re going. This is kidnapping, you know.”Kai chuckled softly. Honestly, he was too cool to chuckle, given his calm but still slightly cold demeanor.“If this is a kidnapping, you look pretty willing.”Because I actually wouldn’t mind being kidnapped by someone like you, Kai...“Well, anyway, where are we going? I’m serious.”I put on a serious face after saying that in my heart. Yes, my feelings for him were something only I needed to know.He didn’t answer right away. The car continued down a road that was growing quieter, leaving the city lights behind. The night breeze drifted in through the cracked window, carrying a faint scent of the sea.“So

  • Owned By My Best Friend's Uncle   CHAPTER 43 - TWISTED WAY

(Vivian’s POV)My heart was still racing.Kai’s hand gripped mine tightly, leading me down the hallway, away from Adrian, away from his venomous words that still echoed in my ears like a curse.“You think she’ll stay with you, Kai?! She’ll crawl back like she always does! That’s what sluts do!”I clenched my jaw. My steps faltered for a second, but Kai didn’t stop walking. He kept going—calm, firm, unwavering.I lowered my head, biting my inner cheek. My eyes burned, but I refused to cry.Not anymore.Once we turned a corner and reached a quieter area, Kai finally stopped. He turned to face me, his expression unreadable.“You okay?” he asked again, his voice much softer now.I looked up at him, struggling to keep my face neutral. “Yeah. I’m fine.”He didn’t buy it.“Vivian,” he said, his hand lifting to gently tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. “You’re trembling.”I exhaled shakily and looked away. “It’s just… anger. He makes my blood boil.”But the truth was, it wasn’t just anger.

(Vivian’s POV)Adrian’s grip on my wrist tightened. I winced, trying to push him off, my heart pounding in my chest.“You’re crazy!” I hissed, glaring at him. “Let me go!”But instead of backing away, Adrian shoved me harder against the wall, his face twisted in rage.“You lied to me,” he spat. “You said you and that bastard had nothing going on. And now you show up with him? Holding hands like some perfect couple? Are you trying to humiliate me, Vivian?!”I clenched my jaw, shoving at his chest, but he wouldn’t move.“What I do and who I come with is none of your business!” I snapped. “You’re not my husband anymore, Adrian! We’re divorced, remember?!”His eyes narrowed, lips curling in disgust. “Oh, so you are sleeping with him. That’s what this is, right? That’s why you’re parading around like some cheap woman in his jacket.”I gasped. My entire body stiffened.“How dare you…” I whispered in disbelief.“You really want to play the victim now?” he sneered, his breath hot against my s

  • Owned By My Best Friend's Uncle   CHAPTER 41 - PRETTY STRICT

(Vivian’s POV)I watched Kai as he talked with his friend. Somehow, one of the guests at Sophia’s birthday party turned out to be Kai’s college friend. And I had let them chat while I enjoyed the cake and drinks provided at the dining table. The event became livelier after Sophia cut the cake with Adrian. And at that moment, several pairs of eyes turned to me, followed by murmurs that escaped their lips. But I felt surprisingly calm because when that happened, Kai was right beside me, holding my hand tightly as if it were a charm he had given me on purpose. And it worked.I remained calm throughout the party.“Are you okay?” Summer asked as she approached me with a drink in her hand. She placed it on the table behind me and stood beside me. We both stared at Sophia and Adrian, who were busy chatting with their friends, showing off their affection, shamelessness, and arrogance, right in front of me.“They’re putting on quite a show,” she muttered.“Well, thanks to Kai, everything felt

  • Owned By My Best Friend's Uncle   CHAPTER 40 - SOMEONE LIKE HER

Sophia laughed, but it was forced—more like a scoff than genuine amusement.“Wow… you’re quite bold, aren’t you?” she said, brushing her hair back arrogantly. “But let’s see how long that confidence lasts.”I wanted to roll my eyes, but I held it in. I couldn’t give her the satisfaction of knowing she was getting under my skin.Kai didn’t flinch. In fact, he leaned in a little closer to me, his arm still wrapped securely around my waist, like he was staking his claim.“I don’t need to prove anything to anyone,” he replied coolly. “Especially not to people who throw away diamonds thinking they’re just glass.”Adrian’s jaw twitched.I could feel the air shift around us—thick with tension, heavy with unspoken things. Summer was still chatting with someone near the buffet table, completely unaware of the storm brewing just a few steps away.Kai’s grip on my hand stayed firm, steady. He wasn’t nervous, not even slightly. The way he looked at Adrian—it wasn’t hostile. It was worse. He looke

  • Owned By My Best Friend's Uncle   CHAPTER 39 - MY BUTTERFLY

(Vivian’s POV)The car ride to the party was quiet. Tense.Kai drove with one hand on the steering wheel, his other resting on the gearshift, looking effortlessly composed in his black tailored suit. Meanwhile, I was a bundle of nerves beside him, fidgeting with the clutch in my lap, trying to control my breathing.“Relax,” he said without looking at me. “You’re shaking.”“I’m not shaking,” I lied. His hand moved to gently cover mine. Warm. Steady. Reassuring.“Vivian,” he said, voice softer now, “nothing bad will happen. I won’t let it.”I wanted to believe him. But the knot in my stomach wouldn’t untangle. When we arrived at the Moonlight Estate, the venue was already glowing with lights and elegance. The driveway was lined with expensive cars, guests in tuxedos and gowns stepping out with practiced poise. As soon as we walked in, eyes turned toward us.Correction: toward Kai.He was magnetic—commanding attention without trying. I could hear women whispering his name, commenting on
